She’s My Knight is a cute, school-set manga that’s sort of sweet and definitely funny. It’s somewhat episodic, and the situations that Ichinose and Mogami find themselves in are familiar and romantic, so it’s a fun, easy read. Ichinose is wildly dramatic, Mogami a bit oblivious, and the story plays off their interactions and developing relationship, capitalizing on gender-twist and shoujo elements. The art is expressive, though the character designs are rather typical, in a comfortable way. The story is lighthearted, but there are touching moments scattered throughout. She’s My Knight is a cute read for shoujo fans, and would undoubtedly be a fabulous anime.

Thank you to NetGalley and Kodansha for an early look at this manga in exchange for an honest review.

This was such a refreshing turn on popular cliches. Ichinose is the popular, handsome boy who always has girls fawning over him and never has to worry about confidence- until he meets Mogami, a tall, kind, cute girl who takes the attention from him. At first he's jealous, but he gradually realizes that he pays so much attention to her because he likes her. The story is a fun look at how the guy would be in a typical heroine roll as he tries to gain enough confidence to ask her out.

The pacing is a little rushed, and some of the stories felt jumbled due to only seeing snippets of their lives, but I really loved the characters. It was a genuine joy to read. Their relationship is one I really want to follow, and I can't wait for the next one!

This was a very entertaining read from start to finish, and while it would have been nice to follow one arching storyline, I found that I enjoyed the episodic nature of the story. The art style is cute, and worked perfectly with a cast of engaging characters to play with some of the classic shojo tropes and give them a twist, and this entire manga made me smile and I will certainly be checking out future volumes.

I found this manga really entertaining and the dynamic between Ichinose and Mogami really adorable! This is a shoujo manga following Ichinose, a popular 17 year old boy, encountering his first rival. Mogami is a slightly taller, equally popular 17 year old girl. His rival very quickly becomes his crush, although it takes him a little while to realize even with the help of friend, Miyoshi, and substitute teacher, Nikaido.

I would recommend this to fans of Monthly Girls' Nozaki-kun. Mogami reminds me of Kashima while Ichinose's personality feels a bit closer to Mikoshiba. Both series also poke fun at the shoujo tropes the characters play into.

I really want to see how these characters and their relationship develop in future volumes!

The art is cute and the characters engaging. I would have preferred a more fluid overall story arc instead of the vignette style, but I would still definitely continue reading this series if I had the opportunity. Thank you to Kodansha Comics and Netgalley for the ARC. All opinions are my own.

A funny, sweet rom-com about Ichinose, a boy who was always popular, who meets his rival in his tall female classmate, Mogami. Not only jealous at Mogami's grace and popularity, she is taller than he is, and Ichinose finds himself on the other side of a crush!

I really liked their dynamic and the funny situations Ichinose found himself in trying to woo Mogami. He struggles with admitting his crush and everything he wants to say comes out wrong, but Mogami is so great she barely notices. I liked that this played on classic shojo/romance tropes, reversing what we usually see in a very fun way.

I will definitely be reading the next volume! Thanks to NetGalley and Kodansha Comics for the ARC!

This was a very cute, tongue in cheek gender reversal of shojo tropes.

A story in the tradition of titles like Lovely Complex, but with a better development, somewhat reminiscent of things happening in Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun, for example.
The roles here are reversed, but not quite. We have the cool "prince of school" who is told the game with the advent of competition ... which this time is a girl.
I like that the story is told lightly, not stressfully. Lovely Complex, which I gave as an example, is many times more irritating. Here, too, I do not agree with the presentation of the boy, but it is not like confusing my health as a competitor from the already mentioned other title. I do not agree with the traditional methods of female image (blushing, the specific behavior of a pinched princess, etc.) to be applied to boys, if you want to offend the defenders of the thesis of equality or something like that. This is not about this at all at first, but let's drop the topic.
The development of history is smooth, on the other hand, and at a fairly high speed. I don't know why it impressed me, but the manga only follows characters, there is no landscape. In other words, it is mostly oriented towards the presentation of sketches and jokes.
I'm not sure how the story would develop further, I'm a little worried that we've already gone through this round of jokes. But the characters are cute, so overall you have a good time in their company.

What happens when the girl you like is taller, cooler, and better than you? Haruma ichinose is a 17 year old guy who has always been popular until he met Yuki Mogami, who rivals him in both looks and popularity. She’s taller, sweet, collected, and always there to rescue him. He’s stuck between wanting to be better than her and having the biggest crush on her. Follow this funny and sweet comic about a guy who’s absolutely in love with a girl who just happens to be better than him and his struggles to try and get her to see his feelings. I had so much fun reading this and even I fell for Yuki, she's amazing and so cute!

Haruma Ichinose, 17, has been popular since he was born. So popular, in fact, that he figured no one could even come close...until he met Yuki Mogami. She's tall, cool, collected, and totally makes him crazy. He may just be in love...but can he deal with falling for someone even more dashing than himself?- Goodreads

In the beginning I wasn't sure if I would like this book. It seemed goofy for no reason. But it progressively got better. There isn't a whole of depth yet but volume 2 is going to be loaded with it.

Haruma is not your typical popular boy. He has a well crafted persona until he meets Yuki who I think unintentionally created a persona and now lives it 100%. Yuki is the popular person, I honestly think, Haruma wishes he can be.

I like the dynamic and I love the fact that the roles of Haruma and Yuki seem to be reversed.

The pace of the novel is great. It uses comedy to move along but the ending allows me to believe that comedy will not be the only thing moving the remaining series. This volume comes off as the reader getting to know and love the characters.

I'm looking forward to the read. Too bad I have to wait. Short review but this is a manga to read if you are looking for something cute and simple (so far).

Do you know that animation where a character has an arrow shoot through their heart? That was basically me throughout this entire volume. This was so cute and funny. I can't wait to read the next volume.

Thank you to NetGalley and Kodansha Comics for this advanced copy which I received in return for an honest review.

It's a really sweet, fun, with a fuzzy and fluffy story.

Ichinose is the cool popular boy, "the prince" of his school until Mogami came along.

It is refreshing to have the tropes reversed. Having a girl with gentlemanly manners and a chivalrous nature that make everyone fall in love with her and a boy flustered and blushing, be it from frustration or something more.

Definitely recommend this manga for a light uplifting moment.

Ichinose was a prince of his school until Mogami came along. Though she is a girl, she has gentlemanly manners and a chivalrous nature that make everyone fall in love with her. And Ichinose is no exception. But he would never tell about his feelings because that would mean admitting defeat in a popularity contest.
I didn't have many expectations going in but I ended up really enjoying it. The tropes here are reversed. Here the guy is usually the one who is blushing and acting flustered and the heroine saves him from tripping and even carries him in her arms at one point. Idk, the way it was shown was really funny. And the blooming romance was hella cute. Due to the episodic nature of chapters it will be nice to dip in and out of this manga whenever I need a quick pick me up. A nice read, I would definitely recommend.

I was split on how to review this but it feels like a decent high school comedy so far and hilarious to see the playboy wannebe of the school suddenly lose his cool in front of a strong, confident female.

This is an adorable manga, with a couple I really liked. The art style is cute and well done, and the story is fluffy and enjoyable for the perfect romance fix.

I kept getting Monthly Girls’ Nozaki-kun vibes at how it played with the typical shojo tropes. The main couple reminded me of Kashima and Hori, with the height differences and dynamic, and they are my favourite couple from that manga, so that’s a big plus for me. I always find it refreshing to see different types of couples portrayed, and with a reversal of roles making this feel fresh and fun. It was adorable watching their bond and feelings grow for each other, and how earnest they were about them.

I do wished it wasn’t in an episodic nature. I feel like if it was in more of a typical story, I would’ve been more invested in their development as a couple, and not just seeing the wacky moments for comedy reasons. It’s not afraid to be meta and poke fun of their genre’s conventions, but sometimes I felt like it was trying too hard to emulate Nozaki-kun’s style.

I highly recommend this if you’re a fan of shojo, and in the mood for a cute couple.

This was SO cute! I'm so glad I was able to read this ARC and I very much enjoyed it! The main character, Ichinose was very cute and relatable as being a character with a crush. I also loved the way the manga had so many tropes involved. Definitely recommend it for those who want something light and fun to read. Only downside was that the plot is literally just the romance, very one tracked. I do believe that is more of a personal preference and do not fault the book for this.
