This was a really cute book about three single moms and their quest to get back into the dating world. I love books that have a warm cozy feeling and this book was definitely no exception. I loved the relationship between the three friends and how they came together to support each other and shared laughs and advice along the way.

Stephanie, Janey, Amanda and Emily are four single mums in different ways; but, the things they have in common are their love of books, alcohol and the need for friendship.

The main character in this is Stephanie, as we hear about her divorce and struggle as a single mum of three. But Stephanie shows the strength she has for her children and how she puts them first; however, she also shows us she can find love and work as a co-parent supporting her ex-husband in his new relationship.

Cooke gives us a main character who we can be proud of, a narrative that looks at the challenges and loneliness in life and also the positive outcomes, such as finding love and friendship in the unlikeliest of places.

I enjoyed this book because it was relatable. To interact with other adults and talk about something else other than children, but also to talk about how life isn't easy.
However, we actually did read the books.

Because we mainly hear from Stephanie's point of view I wonder if this will be a series and we will get more from each character in the series?

Stephanie is on her own with 3 kids after her husband leaves. There follows an unusual book club with just 3 single women trying to have some time of their own. Very funny and book club starts to get more members

"The Single Mum's Book Club": 4⭐

(Unpaid Review: thank you to @netgalley, @victoriacooke and the publishers for allowing me to read this eArc copy in exchange for a review.)

I'm 21 years-old and sometimes I think of what will my life be in 20 years. This book, this whole story, this FRIENDSHIP, is what I want to have by the time I'm 40. 💕

This book revolves around 3 best friends - Stephanie, Amanda and Janey - and their book club, The Single Mum's Book Club. It is endearing and so beautiful! Their friendship is EVERYTHING and it gives you such warmness inside, you can't miss this book!

Also, it talks about important things such as heartbreak, anxiety, loss, post-traumatic stress and more. Really beautiful, really inspiring! Truly one of the most wholesome books I've read in sometime.

This was a really sweet, fun, and touching story that I read in one sitting! It was a fun and lighthearted read, that showed the importance of never giving up and believing in second chances.

Steph is freshly divorced and has 3 young children with the youngest being a baby. She doesn't fit in with the other mothers at the school gate and the divorce has hit her financially. She has lost her friends and feels genuinely lost in life. However she meets Janey and Amanda and they create a book club.

This story covers a variety of stories of 3 unlikely Friendships. Steph is a single mother juggling it all and has decided to go back to work, Janey is married but her husband is absent most of the time and Amanda although older since losing her husband is lonely.

I really enjoyed this book and the story within it. I enjoyed reading how Steph managed to take back control of her life and her Friendships with Janey and Amanda. Victoria Cooke has an ability to grip the reader and provide a story in which you can get lost in.

It is a lighthearted read and the characters are able resonate with the reader in many ways. There are many funny and more serious parts throughout the book. So you are experiencing a variety of issues which can occur in everyday life.

I'd definitely reccomend to any mother who is finding the balance of motherhood and being an actual person tough and to those amazing single mothers who are raising children alone.

Three friends, three single mums, one quest to find love…
It’s 8:30am and I’m already utterly exhausted. My son has lost his football boots, my daughter is ready for school dressed only in her vest and knickers, and of course, my 1-year-old has filled his nappy for what feels like the tenth time this morning.
As for my husband? He’s decided marriage doesn’t suit him, and well… buggered off.
All hope of ‘me time’ has but dwindled to sipping half a glass of wine whilst shouting after the kids. But everything is about to change.
I’m taking control of my life! I’ve joined… a book club.
Yes, I know what you’re thinking. ‘Wow… live a little.’ But my fellow book clubbers, Amanda and Janey, are my lifelines. They understand the daily struggle because they’re mothers too.
And in between the prosecco, Doritos and googling everything about Mr Darcy on SparkNotes, they’ve convinced me to go on a date with my boss.
A single mum of three looking for romance… what could possibly go wrong?

Thank you to Netgalley and the publishers for allowing me to read this book in return for an honest review. Hilarious, heartwarming and serious when appropriate. I couldn't put it down. Whilst predictable the story is up to date and shows divorce, dating and drama in todays world; so if you are looking for laughing a little bit harder than you should at things you probably shouldn't then I can thoroughly recommend.

This book was just what I needed: a lighthearted, fun, quick read! I was hooked immediately and hated having to put it aside. This is the first book I've read by Cooke, but it won't be my last.

Relationships (particularly showing that you're never too old for a second chance at love), family, and the importance of friendship are all explored. And as a bookworm, I loved the book club ladies! I love all things British, so I really enjoyed the slang and British phrases used throughout. I'm not a single mom, but I could easily relate to this book. I'll be recommending it to all my reader friends.

A really sweet love story that shows your never 'too old' to find romance. This story shows the messy side of dating when there's more than just two people involved.

I was a little disappointed with how the book club got lost at the second half of the book but that was made up by the ending!

I look forward to reading more of Victoria Cooke's stories.

I really enjoyed this book! It was such a real story based around relationships, family dynamics, trauma, the importance of friendship, and moving forward. The romance, unfortunately, was a slow burn and fade to black, but it was a beautiful show of the trials that come with dating after divorce. I absolutely loved the friendships formed through the book club! The perfect expression of how reading and discussing books is more than just living in a fictional reality. It can help readers to identify and express their own feeling and struggles.

This book had a nice easy flow and made me want to keep flipping the page. As an American, some of the slang and lingo made it a little choppy, but for the most part the context was enough to understand what was meant. I would definitely recommend this book!

" I care about the people who will pop the kettle on when I have tonsillitis and the kids are driving me mad; the people who will listen if I need to vent; the people who can see me at my worst and come to help...I care about the people I can talk to without judgement."

I loved everything about this book and this quote in particular spoke to me. There's nothing like that feeling when you're reading a story and realise you relate more than you thought you would. Adulthood is hard work, which is explored in Steph's story, but this shows how your 30's aren't too old to realise what your priorities are, who you truly want to be and who you should surround yourself with. Yes it's a shock to not be 18 anymore but 30something is good too!
I feel like Stephanie's story promotes everything about self love, staying true to your values and overcoming hurdles that could easily floor you. Plus these women are a bunch of strong, independent females and I loved each of their transformations individually and together as new friends. It was funny, relatively light hearted whilst also touching upon sensitive topics, and such an easy read! Couldn't recommend more.

This is a great look at being parent and still being a person. Stephanie shows how hard it cane be to have kids while also deciding what the best step for her own well being was. I appreciated this book very much, and I could relate to some aspects being a single parent. I’m giving this one ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This was a DNF for me. I was having a hard time getting into it and feeling the characters. I was bummed because the plot summary seemed really interesting but I just wasn’t feeling it.

Thank you for the opportunity to review!

Thank you to victoria cooke and rachelsrandomresources for the ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
This book was so sweet and easy. It features a middle aged mum who has just recently gone through a divorce and is finding herself a little down on luck. So when the opportunity arises to join/form a book club with some other mums in the area it seems like a great opportunity. On top of this, Stephanie gets herself w job for the first time in 10 years working at the local vet where the practice owner is rather something.
This book has such wholesome friendships, giggles and love. Whilst I don’t have 3 children myself, I can imagine the situations that occur to be so realistic. Kids or not, I think everyone can sympathise and relate to feeling down in the dumps, low on luck, and just stuck a bit in life. I definitely feel this book gives a hope to people in these situations.
I think it’s a great book about second chances that really just hits you in the feels. A great summer read for sure!
