I loved this book! I was hooked from the beginning. It was such a feel good book that’s easily relatable. I enjoyed the friendships that formed and also the romance the bloomed throughout the story.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Being a book club member myself, I was immediately attracted to it and it didn't disappoint. I loved the ladies, especially Steph who after being recently dumped by her husband and left to pretty much take care of their kids by herself, found friendship with Janey, Amanda and Emily through a shared love of books. It was funny, lighthearted and a lovely, easy summer read.

Fabulous and fun
Steph is divorced with 3 kids, her ex husband is being a nightmare and she hasn’t got enough money for toilet paper leading to a meltdown which changes her life. She meets Janey, a mum who lives across the road from her and they eventually decide to form a book club together
I liked Steph, she is nervous and anxious, she has real fears but everything she does is for her children. They are her everything, and it’s only through meeting Janey that her world starts to expand and she manages to get a job and start interacting with other adults more
The ladies in the book group are all very different from each other with Steph being a divorced parent who is struggling, Janey being a stay at home mum with a sometimes absent husband and Amanda who from the outside seems to have it all but actually doesn’t
Each of the ladies have experienced loneliness and the book club brings them together and let’s them have the time with other adults that they all need. It gives them friendship and someone to be there for them when they need as well as helping them to accept who they are and that with good friends, anything is possible
Each of them have their own struggles but it’s the differences which I think made the book club and as a result this book really work and what drew me in and the developments of the characters which kept me hooked. Even if at times I thought some of their escapades a bit crazy and I occasional wished that I could hear from some of the other viewpoints as well as just Steph’s, it really worked as it is and made me chuckle a few times
I think the characters in this book will seem so familiar to many people out there, not just mums, and as a result I would recommend it to those who enjoy a moment of escapism into another life with characters you will totally love!

What an incredibly fun read! It was my first Victoria Cooke but it won't be my last!! The whole cast of characters were really great. I remember being a young mom and this brought back so many memories. I really related to Stephanie. Looking forward to reading more from Cooke.

This is a fun book that will make you wish for a group of friends like those in the Single Mums' Book Club. Funny, heart-warming (and heart-wrenching at times) - you will not want to stop reading about the lives (and loves?) of Stephanie, Janey, and Amanda! Definitely recommended.

As a single parent this book appealed on its cover alone. A nice feel good story about friendships and relationships and the turmoils of being a single parent

A lovely, sweet novel with heart. This is the perfect Summer feel good book, not twee but relatable! I want to join the book club now!

I loved this book. It was sweet, charming, and honest about how painful moving on from a divorce can be. I enjoyed how the main character was portrayed and the book was more about her finding herself and her new life after a divorce rather than just a pure rom-com I particularly think fans of Evie Drake Starts Over and The Cactus will enjoy it as well. My only negatives is that it dragged a little in the middle, but overall was a cute fun read.

What a lovely book. Its about 3 women who for various reasons become single. They find a friend in each other and a moral support. They decide to start a book club for the 3 of them, gives them a good excuse to meet and chat over a few glasses of wine. I liked all the characters, especially Steph the main character, loved the love interest vet and the ex husband. It doesn't really go into the book club its just about their lives. Would definitely recommend

A lovely story of friendships and relationships. Steph is a single, stay at home mum with three children. She is quite lonely at first, but when she she starts a book club with 2 other women and gets a job at the vet, her life is slowly changing.
It is a really heartwarming story and relatable in some parts. Definitely one of my favourite books.

A lovely read. Stephanie was a realistic portrayal of a mother and likeable. Edward was just adorable and I was willing them to get together as they made such a cute couple. The book club members were a great mix of characters. I really enjoyed this story.

Delightful! This book met my expectations with a likeable cast of characters who I hope to read more about, a fast moving and light-hearted storyline and I loved reading a book that talks so much about books!

Will recommend this one and hope it becomes a series.

Stephanie doesn't want much except a close family and she thinks she has it all until her Mike shatters it all.
Maybe it was fate that brings a new life for Stephanie, a new circle of friends and possible life changes.
A great easy read with believe characters who shared a love of books.

A really heart-warming story. Stephanie is divorced from Mike. She is a stay at home mum to three children, Ralph and Ava, who are both at school, and baby Henry. Mike supports them financially, but Stephanie has to budget carefully. The story starts on a typical day in many households, they are late for school and Ava isn’t dressed yet, Ralph cannot find his football boots and Henry is wailing because his nappy needs changing. There is a lot of shouting, a lot of sulking, and they get to school just as the bell goes. She tasks Ralph to take Ava to her teacher and she watches from the car, because Henry is still wailing, which elicits a bad-tempered text from the school reminding her of school regulations, adding more tension to her day. Then she realises she forgot to bring her changing bag, so she needs to return home before shopping. She checks her purse before shopping, she has to be thrifty, so buys supermarket own low-budget goods, and checks carefully for bargains. Finally, Stephanie is selecting toilet rolls when someone speaks to her, Emily a friend from her married days who has avoided her ever since. They have a rather prickly conversation, Stephanie letting Emily know she was really hurt when she needed support after the divorce and ‘the gang’ abandoned her. When she gets home and is putting the shopping away she realises she didn’t buy the toilet rolls, so needs to return to the supermarket. On the way Mike phones, he will pick the children up late Saturday morning instead of Friday after school … and has she started looking for a job, he is not made of money. Stephanie’s boiling point is getting closer, and it comes when she is in the supermarket, she checks her purse and she is eight pence short of being able to pay for the cheapest toilet rolls. The final straw is reached, she
bursts into tears, and is rescued by a neighbour, Janey, who buys the toilet rolls for her and goes home with her. A cup of tea and a chat and Stephanie gradually calms down. It is a relief to have another adult to talk to.

Steph and Janey become firm friends, they have a lot in common, Janey’s marriage appears a bit shaky. They decide they will start a book club, just the two of them. They will have an evening together drinking wine and talking about a book they have chosen to read. That gets off to a bad start as neither of them read the book, but they have a lovely evening, and decide on the next book to ‘read’. Steph also applies for a job as bookkeeper for a local vet’s practice. Nobody else has applied, so she gets the job, and loves it. Life is becoming easier! One day she is reading the latest book on her tablet while sitting in a café with Henry, when an older lady starts talking to her because she sees Steph is reading a book, and soon there is a third member for the book club gang.

Steph’s chaotic life continues and all the issues she experiences will resonate with many, it all feels very real. She meets someone, and they have a mutual attraction, but she doesn’t want to upset her children’s lives more than has already happened, so she is very cautious. All falls into place for several people by the end of the book, which is very happy, but a lot of angst has occurred on the road to happiness. This is a very thoughtful story, and very well worth reading.

This book was pure entertainment for me. Lots of laughs, and just mindless reading for me. I love when I get to read books that are just pure entertainment This is one of those books that just keeps me smiling even after I finish it. It reminded me a lot of "The Girlfriends Guide to Bunco"

Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for arc.

Really like novels by Victoria Cooke and this one was possibly my fave by her so far! This was a fun and heartwarming novel but also quite heartbreaking in parts. Overall, very enjoyable

I wanted to read the Single Mums' Book Club as a bit of a change from my usual crime thrillers. It looked like an easy going quick read but it ended up being so much more than that.

I've never been married but I know what it's like to come out of a long term relationship and all of your friends either pick sides or pull the 'I'm always there for you, call me any time' and then ghost you!
You can find friends in the most unexpected of places, admittedly I've found more of them crying in pubs than in supermarkets...

I've always loved (and probably romanticised) the idea of joining a book club. I ended up getting really emotionally invested in all of the characters, things are so much more complicated when kids are involved, it takes a lot of guts to carry on after a divorce (or to leave your husband when things aren't working).

I hope I'm lucky enough to find a guy like Edward one day.

I had been recommended this book, I had been told it was funny, lighthearted and easy reading. It was exactly that. It had me smiling and laughing in parts and others really feeling for the characters. The descriptions were enough for you to picture yourself being there, without being too descriptive to the point you forget the story! It was just right. I really enjoyed this book, it was well written and very enjoyable. Thank you to Netgalley and the author and publishers for the privilege to read this book for my honest opinion

Feel good easy read. What a refreshing change to have certain sensitive subject matter covered without malice or anger. The author carefully takes you on a journey, and without you realising, draws you into the lives of her characters especially the main protagonist. There was a particular passage in the book when I wondered, if things were going to take a turn for the worst and I actually felt my heart thumping. This is a beautiful read, will she, won’t she.... recommend!
