This was a gorgeous read. Realistic, endearing, emotive, pulling at the heart strings and beautifully written. A tale of instant attraction and what happens after. I felt everything the main character felt and went on the journey with her. This is my favourite book from Lia Louis, it drew me in from the first page until the very last.

Sadly I couldn't finish this book as I just found the heroine too annoying. Her life is a mess, but it's her own fault for being a doormat, she's annoyed at a ex for leaving her when she wanted to continue having her life dictated by others and be didn't want to have that happen to him, and then frankly acted like a stalker with Sam. I found j just couldn't root for the heroine in this tale and with each chapter I read I got more frustrated with her actions

Genre: Romance

Release Date: Expected 19th August 2021

Fifteen years ago today, Noelle and her best friend wrote down their hopes and dreams for their future selves - and of all the things she imagined she'd be doing right now it wasnt being stuck with a dead car and a dead phone on a snowy, closed motorway in the middle of nowhere. But as she's sitting in the cold and reminiscing on all the things she didn't do in the last decade and a half, she finds Sam and they spend the most perfect eight hours stuck in time together until they drive off back to their own lives.

She never expected to see Sam again, but when suddenly appears back in her life again and again she feels like this is a sign. But nothing in her life is ever that simple, especially not romance.

Eight Perfect Hours was a sweet, chaotically funny story about destiny and love - Noelle and Sam had that type of meet-cute we all dream of having and you had no doubt you were at the start of a whirlwind romance. I loved the fact they were far from perfect - and very honest about it.

For me, I found Noelle and Sam and their entire relationship rather problematic and awkward, and although they were endearing there was a part of me that couldn't fully get behind them getting together. There were definitely some sparkles but the fireworks didn't come for me that I was expecting from this story.

RATING: ⭐⭐⭐

Thank you to Lia Louis, Orion Publishing and Netgalley for this ARC in return for an honest review.

I was absolutely delighted to get a copy of this and couldn’t wait to devour it in one glorious sitting (with lots of cups of tea and biscuits - rock and roll!) This gorgeous romance didn’t disappoint one bit, I was smitten from the outset and smiled the entire time. The red threads of romance are woven so beautifully that when everything becomes clear towards the end of the story, you want to cheer! If you ever get stuck on a snowy motorway, don’t despair, this may be destiny stepping in. My only criticism is that the ending felt quite abrupt (and I only selfishly wanted more) Five stars!

Lia Louis does it again! I absolutely devoured this story of loss and new love. Beginning in a gridlock, we meet Noelle and her bagful of anxiety. She's likeable, realistic and so clearly sad and still grieving a loss. I loved how she opened up throughout the course of the story, as she begins to chase what she wants and needs. It's so interesting to see the family dynamics through Noelle's eyes, and also have the opinions of those closest to her.

As always, Lia's sparkling wit shines through in the characters banter, I snort laughed when Clay meets Noelle. And I did not expect the twist at the end! Such a well put together and perfectly paced story. If you loved Dear Emma Blue, you will not be disappointed.

From the moment Noelle and Sam start their eight perfect hours on the snowbound motorway, you're rooting for their story to have a happy ending. Poignant and heart-warming.

I loved Somewhere Close to Happy and Dear Emmie Blue, so I was very excited to be approved for Eight Perfect Hours.

Eight Perfect Hours follows Noelle as she meets Sam when they're trapped together in a blustery snowstorm. As their story unravels, their chance meeting takes on a whole new meaning.

Eight Perfect Hours is a beautiful, poignant tale of love that has always been written in the stars.

I defy anyone not to fall in love with Noelle and Sam.

Thank you to Netgalley and to Orion for the chance to read and review.
