Can’t believe this is the 17th instalment of the Roy Grace series and if you’ve read the previous books you will know they never disappoint !! After being slightly disappointed at the lack of Roy Grace featuring in the previous book I was so pleased to have him and his team back centre stage in this one.

Niall and Eden Paternoster are on their way home from a day out at a country house when Eden asks to stop off at Tesco to get some cat litter. Niall waits in the car for her but 25 minutes later Eden is still not back ...... where is she ? Has she gone home by herself ?

Eden has vanished and Niall decides it’s time to call the police when she is still not home the next day. The police think something is not quite adding up so Roy Grace and his time are called in to investigate.

Roy is convinced something is not quite right, but what ? Where is Eden ? Has Niall murdered his wife ? What is the motive ? The more the team discover the more mysterious the case becomes.

As well as trying to solve the mystery of Eden’s disappearance, Roy has his own personal issues to deal with. Can Roy keep it together to find the missing Eden ? Is she alive or dead ?

This is Peter James back to his best. I love Roy Grace and his team and you know when you pick up a Roy Grace book you will not be disappointed. I was also pleased to have Roy’s family and police team back in centre stage. This is definitely a great addition to the Roy Grace series !!

Thank you to Pan Macmillan and NetGalley for a digital copy of this book.
