The premise of this book sounded so good but it just fell flat for me. I didn't like any of the characters, it didn't make me laugh, and there wasn't hardly any romance.

This book was so fun! I have to admit, the title is what drew me in! The concept of the book seemed so funny and unique and it made me so excited to read it! I don't want to give away any spoilers, but this book actually surprised me with the plot twist about Fletcher! Reading about him and his life was really interesting and it was really funny to see how Saidy had to realize everything isn't completely his fault in their relationship. To me, it receives 3.5 stars because I would have liked to know more about their relationship and their connection. It seemed to be pretty rushed and not explained fully, and some parts were written in a way that had me doing the classic "yeah right...that would never happen" which sometimes ruins a book for me. But this book was still a fun read and I sped through it!! I recommend this one to anyone that wants a quick read with an unexpected revelation!

This was a fun read. Whilst it was far from perfect - a few questionable plot points, a few weak characters, a few points at which much more depth was needed - it was fun and lighthearted and just what I needed at this moment in time,

For the most part, I enjoyed the writing style, and would definitely pick up something else by this author when I want something fun and lighthearted, And bonus points for the ending - I loved it!

I have mixed feelings on this book. I picked it off NetGalley because the plot seemed interesting, but when it came to the execution it fell a little short for me.

The plot follows Sadie, who after a long time of putting up with terrible behaviour from her boyfriend Fletcher, breaks up with him and enters him in a Worlds Worst Boyfriend contest. Fletcher is determined to get Sadie back, and is carrying a secret — a reason for acting the way he’s been acting, and a reason that Sadie cannot find out about. For me, these characters is where the problem occurred, especially in the first half. There was nothing that could make me empathetic towards either of them; there was an air of naivety around them and nothing that made them seem a once happy and in love couple. The book starts with Sadie breaking up with him, so we don’t really have time to understand them as a couple, and a lot of their actions turn me away from wanting to root for them.

In the latter half of the book things came together much better, and we actually got to see the characters as a couple and the writing seemed a little more mature and cohesive. I think this is one book that could have benefitted from more pages — a lot of the plot felt rushed at times. It was however, a light, quick, and funny and sometimes that’s exactly what you need.

WOAH. This book looks like your typical cute contemporary romance but it turned into something that I've never experienced before in this type of book. You think it's going to be a typical story where we're introduced to a relationship that's loaded with problems but the characters come to their senses, realize how much they love each other, and happy ending. This one had a unique twist. I maybe would have liked the plot to be more fleshed out and to amp up the thriller aspect a bit. There felt like a lot of threads and not all of them landed. However, it was still a fun time and sometimes (let's be real, most of the time) that's all I require for my reading material.

A boyfriend who cancels last minute, stands you up, drops off his dirty laundry only for you to do it, gifts you socks for your birthday... has got to be the World’s Worst Boyfriend, right? Poor Saidy Perez.

This was a fine mix of comedy and romance with a touch of mystery—not exactly what I expected based on the title and cover (but in a good way). I wasn’t a huge fan of Saidy’s character because she was too darn nice! I was convinced she was being taken advantage of. But, as the story progressed, with Fletcher’s POV telling his side, it all made sense. There were equall amount of laugh out loud and aww-worthy moments. I just wished the relationship timeline was a bit longer—4 months of dating where half the time, Fletcher was dodgy, didn’t exactly sold it to me that they were “in love” and that Saidy thought he was “the one.” But, the overall premise and story direction were both entertaining, and certain relationship aspects were absolutely relatable.

This is the book I didn’t know I needed and I’m so obsessed with it. 😍

Saidy and Fletcher have been dating for a while but lately, Saidy’s felt forgotten and abandoned. Fletcher loves her more than anything, but he has a huge validate reason why he has been a little distant lately, can he really prove her wrong and fight to save this relationship?

Hands up and hats off to Carina Taylor for writing this clever and romantic story! It was funny, deep and had the right amount of suspense to keep me turning the pages.

First, I need to point out I loved the Latina representation. I love seeing succesful brown women like Saidy in romance💕 I sided with her every step of the way during this book. I felt for her and understood every one of their doubts and needs. I loved how she was sure of what she was worth and deserved. She loved Fletcher so much and it hurt me seeing her being hurt, although Fletcher had very good reasons to be distant from her.

I also rooted for Fletcher. He was so sweet and thoughtful. I loved his protective side and how beautiful and honest his love for Saidy was. It really broke my heart seeing him so conflicted and confused about what to do. He didn’t want to lose her, but it was easy for me to understand what was at risk for him.

Saidy and Fletcher’s realtionship was a beautiful example of the highs and lows of two imperfect people go though and that everything is possible when both people want to make things work, no matter how strong the opposition is. I loved how they were patient with each other and how they were able to listen to the right advices and opinions. In the end, all the trouble made their love stronger.

The suspense and action in this book was really enjoyable. I loved the little twists in this plot, I gasped a couple of times but sighed in relief as well! But mostly, I swooned with the beautiful resolutions and the amazing happy ending

Simply put, this book was not for me. I didn’t mesh with the writing style at all. Saidy was bland. Fletcher was overbearing, and because of his job, selfish and unreliable. Their conversations were repetitive. Even though Fletcher was trying to win Saidy back, he called her a spoiled princess multiple times. This didn’t sit well with me because he knew she wasn’t. She was only asking to be treated with respect and kindness. While I liked the premise, plot-wise the story felt flat. Saidy never really tried to get over Fletcher, and Fletcher made a pest of himself at every opportunity. Saidy’s friend Zoe was no friend at all, and I found her annoying and mean. The same goes for Saidy’s grandmother. I didn’t find the part of the book involving Fletcher’s undercover work very adventurous or compelling. I thought the ending with Sullivan strange and unsatisfying. The summary called this a “romantic comedy adventure” and it fell short for me on each of those fronts.

Intrigued by just the blurb, I knew I needed to read this, and I am SO glad I did.
Is Fletcher the World’s Worst Boyfriend? Debatable. Is there definite room for improvement? 1000% YES.
Saidy’s meddling, judgement filled grandmother tickled me pink. Her mother portrayed a lot of the same balance my own displayed whenever I came to her for advice, and the nostalgia there was worth every bit. I loved the empowerment Saidy found in the latter parts of the book, and the passion she displayed for her profession. It was clear from first meeting that this was a girl that would run off with my heart, much the way she did to Fletcher.
And Fletcher, I cannot express how much I appreciated him as a character. The growing he displayed, the love and support he offered in his own ways were heartwarming, and I genuinely enjoyed it all.

World's Worst Boyfriend was a sweet and funny read and definitely a quick read I would recommend to all. My favorite aspects of the book were the tension between the two main characters Saidy and Fletcher. I throughly enjoyed the banter between the two as well as the resolution they come to towards the second half of the book. I really enjoyed how the main character Saidy is incredibly understanding about the circumstances regarding Fletcher although in the beginning she is clouded by the judgement of others so much so that she ends up nominating Fletcher as the world's worst boyfriend. Overall I liked the growth Saidy demonstrated in being introspective with the relationships in her life and learning that she had outgrown some life long friends. I had such a fun time with this book and I am looking forward to digging back into some more fun reads by this author.

The only thing I didnt like about this was unfortunately the writing style. I really enjoyed the characters and the plot but the way it was written really took me out of the story.

I read this, start to finish, in one day, so it must've been pretty good!

Saidy thought it was love at first sight, but over the past four months, her boyfriend has grown so distant, forgetful, and secretive that she's starting to believe he's been using her. In a moment of frustration, she enters him into a contest as the World's Worst Boyfriend—and wins. Her worst fears are confirmed: she's been a doormat for Fletcher and she deserves better. But there are two sides to every story, and Fletcher telling Saidy the truth about the demands of his job would risk too much. When she's fed up and completely without answers, she ends their relationship... but Fletcher isn't done loving her yet.

This premise is incredibly romantic, really. I love that at first it seems like every downside to their relationship is Fletcher's fault, but it's actually quite balanced. They both have played some part in the deterioration of their relationship, and they're adult enough to embrace it (after the anger somewhat subsides). Everyone acted rationally under the circumstances and literally no one—no one—had a moment that made me think, "Ugh, why are they being so stupid about this?" Saidy came close, but didn't quite get there. I think she was being incredibly patient and understanding, considering the circumstances.

There's something so frustratingly sweet about how much Fletcher loves Saidy, but can't do much to prove it. In this way, Carina Taylor does something lovely and explores the idea of how people can love each other. Showing affection doesn't always mean roses, diamonds, and expensive dinners; instead, it can mean fixing the ice machine or changing the light bulbs in the kitchen. It's a wonderful thing that isn't always explored in rom-coms.

I didn't really find it funny, but it was sweet. I found myself smiling while reading quite a few times, which is lovely. I didn't laugh, though, and I can't remember any lines that caught me as humorous. (This is unusual for me because, frankly, I laugh a lot.) Not to say that it's not entertaining—it absolutely is—it just doesn't fall into that "laugh out loud" category of rom-com for me. I lean heavily toward silly/outlandish/irreverent/sarcastic humor, though, so what struck me as unfunny may be the opposite for someone else.

Regardless, if you're looking for a book to make you smile your face off, pick this one up.

After finishing Crooked Kingdom, I needed something to lift my spirits. What better to do that than a nice, light rom-com? Saidy has the World’s Worst Boyfriend. No, really. She even has the trophy and $500 gift card to prove it. After four months of Fletcher becoming more and more distant every day, Saidy Perez has finally had enough. She enters him into a competition for the World’s Worst Boyfriend hosted by the podcast she’s found herself listening to regularly. It’s really no surprise when she wins even if it’s not the best competition to be parading around a trophy for. However, there’s more to Fletcher than meets the eye. Is he really the World’s Worst Boyfriend or is there more to the story?

Let me just say, I had so much fun with this book. It was everything I needed. I loved both Saidy and Fletcher, even when they were both being absolutely ridiculous. This book is the perfect definition of a romantic comedy adventure. We are on this journey from the alternating POVs of Saidy and Fletcher so we know what the truth is immediately, even when the other doesn’t. With something new at every turn, you never get bored.

What I really loved here was that the story made sense and progressed easily. I was flying through this book like no tomorrow, hoping there would be more at every swipe of my finger (I read it as an e-book). Pacing? Perfect. Main characters? Loved them. This was as much a story about a relationship as it was about self-discovery. Saidy learns a lot about herself and the friends she keeps closing while simultaneously figuring things out with Fletcher. Her realizations about toxic friends and how she lets others influence her own thoughts/actions are things that I think everyone can relate to.

Despite how terrible Fletcher seemed to Saidy, when she actually left him (or tried to, at least), he never stopped fighting for her. And one of my favorite lines in those “fighting for her moments” is this one:

“Because no matter if you think we’re done, I’m not done loving you.”

First of all, that is so cute. It reminds me of that scene in Vampire Diaries where Damon and Elena are fighting and he says, “Well stop loving me,” and she says, “I can’t!” I know y’all know which scene I’m talking about, don’t leave me hanging here. Anyway, that line emits the same amount of head-over-heels desperate-in-love energy and I am absolutely here for it. I was especially soaking it up post Crooked Kingdom heartbreak.

If you are into romantic comedies that’ll take you for a ride, World’s Worst Boyfriend is the one for you. I received an e-ARC of this book from NetGalley so, while it isn’t out just yet, don’t fret because you won’t have to wait long! It’s set to hit shelves on April 20th! Overall, I give it 4 out of 5 stars.

I'm a sucker for a cute romantic comedy and Saidy and Fletcher are just adorable! The World's Worst Boyfriend follows Saidy and Fletcher's relationship as Saidy slowly begins to feel second fiddle to Fletcher's new IT startup company. What Saidy doesn't realize is that Fletcher is hiding something from Saidy and telling her what he's hiding could cause more damage to their relationship than his forgetfulness.

World's Worst Boyfriend is a quick, comedic read and its told from both Saidy's and Fletcher's POV. Telling the story from both POVs allows the reader to better understand what is going on in their relationship and moves the story along. This is definitely a recommendable and enjoyable read.

This was cute! I like that Saidy and Fletcher were already in love and that the story was about them learning more about each other and working though their problems so they could stay together.
Certain parts were a little frustrating, but overall this was a quick and enjoyable read.

Romance with a splash of mystery? Yes, please!

To think that I thought that this was your average-joe romance novel! I was so very wrong and so glad to be wrong because I enjoyed every second of this book! It is so well written and you just get lost in the story and want to keep reading and reading it, saying "one more chapter, one more chapter" throughout the entire thing.

I love the idea of this story, I can't even talk about the best parts without spoiling it, but take my word for it, it's really good and so much fun to read. You'll fall in love with the characters and their relationship and you'll end up rooting for them the entire time!! The book also touches on toxic relationships and how we sometimes listen to others more than we listen to ourselves which I think is a great reminder for anyone wanting to pursue anything in life.

Love this book and I'm sure you will too!

World's Worst Boyfriend more like world's funnest, playful relationship story. The story had just the right amount of emotions which made this a really fun read for me. Happy all through, no complaints here.

I absolutely loved this book! Completely fell in love with the 2 main characters, they were both very relatable & interesting. The storyline is captivating from the moment you open the book. I enjoyed how it is written from the perspective of both leads in alternative chapters. I will be recommending this book to everyone i know!

World’s Worst Boyfriend by Carina Taylor a five-star read that brings the best out of the worst. This was my first by this author, but it will not be the last as I adored the writing style, it was funny, compassionate, witty and smooth. This is number three in the Fake it series but I haven’t read the first two and didn’t feel lost at all, I will be picking them up as I loved this one. Man, there have been many a man I would have loved to have entered into this contest and Fletcher really does seem to deserve it, until you scratch beneath the surface and see the real reasons why he is at that time such a terrible boyfriend. I loved how he did not give up, he kept fixing and that just made me adore him in all of his dirty laundry. This will make you smile and make you care; it is a great read, and I will certainly be checking the first two out as well as the rest of this authors work.
