A bit of Georgette Heyer vibes, which is the best kind. Not my favorite of the series, but so much fun with wacky characters that you can’t help but love. It's kind of predictable, but that is what made it so enjoyable. Lord Grayson gives off confusing vibes to Kate and she in return confuses him right back. Her aunt sweeps in with all kinds of mischief and a wild tale is unleashed. LOVED IT!

This is my first experience reading something by this author and it was a very enjoyable read. It is the fourth installment of the My Notorious Aunt series. It's a clean Regency romance with charming and unique characters and was just a delight to read. Kate is engaged to Lord Colter, but he humiliates her at an Assembly and breaks off the engagement having been fed up with her nitpicking. Kate is then determined to go to London, away from Lord Colter, with her aunt and launch herself into society. Only Colter follows her there, still in love with her and wanting her back. I really enjoyed reading this madcap, Regency rom-com, which kept me smiling all the way through. The characters were fun and the storyline flowed smoothly, with some nice twists along the way. This was a fun story and I will certainly be looking for more by this author.

Such a sweet romance! While most historical fictions focus more on the love scenes, this book gave us more plot. I would say a bit too much at the end, as it was so packed that it didn’t feel like a HEA.

I enjoyed this clean historical romance, a tale of forgiveness and love, it was bit slow at first but I soon got into the story, and the witty humour made up for it.

To be honest, I'm always going to love a book centered on strong female characters. And the Linnet girls are just that! I did not know this was part of a series that include Aunt Honore, but didn't feel like I was missing anything by not reading the others in the series. Don't worry - I will.

Overall, this was an easy read and quite enjoyable. I think the pacing at the end was a little quicker than I'd like, but otherwise this was perfect!

DELIGHTFUL - A must read
This the best light hearted book I have ever read. Dear Kate is going through a midlife crisis at a young age. She took the burden of raising her three sisters after her mother died. Kate is a hilarity of personality quirks and reasonably personality traits to make her the simplest and yet having the most dizzily confusing mind. I adored her sisters. All different in there way and yet similar in the best of ways. Their Aunt Honore is a hoot. What a scheming matchmaking auntie. She always knows what she is about even if her unorthodox manner is questionable. I loved reading this and highly recommend it.

After she and her fiance very publicly part ways, Kate is convinced that she has no future and is wallowing in self-pity. That is, until her aunt the Countess comes to shake up her life and take her off to London. Of course, all of her younger sisters insist on coming too, and chaos ensues.

Unfortunately, about halfway through this book I had to give up on it. The characters weren't fleshed out enough and felt like stereotypes. There also wasn't enough period detail to make it feel as if it was a historical novel, or even to set the scene realistically. It needed more depth. The interactions between the aunt and their nieces were on occasion quite amusing, but some of the more sensational scenes just felt silly and like they came from nowhere. (Why are these men pulling guns on each other in a coaching inn, it's not the Wild West,)

The cover of this book captivated my interest and I was pleased to find the writing and story to be charming and delightful, with a light, fun humour I very much appreciated.

Miss Kate Linnet, 22, is certain she is doomed to be a spinster. Lord Greyson Colter renounced their engagement at a ball, calling her a shrew and saying she nags him. Kate has been the caregiver for her 4 sisters since her mother passed away in childbirth with her youngest sister. They are Nora who is 17 and very pretty. Sadie is 14 and always into mischief. Matilda is the youngest at 10 and quite precocious.

Kate learns that her father’s sister, Countess Honore de Alameda is coming to take Kate to London for a season. When the woman arrives, all of the girls beg to go and Honore agrees to take them. At the same time, Greyson stops by to apologize to Kate saying he wants to marry her and is going to London to woo her.

Once they are all finally in London, they see how opulent Honore’s home is compared to theirs. It also wonderful that they are being fitted for new gowns.

Kate and Greyson see one another and she realizes little by little what a truly wonderful man he is. But it isn’t until Tilly goes missing that she knows she can depend on him for anything. She also learns that she doesn’t always have to be the one to take care of everything by herself. With Greyson by her side, they can make it together.

This is a clean and funny romance that makes Kate realize that she can have a life of her own with Greyson. Her sisters are each clever in their own way and Aunt Honore is a mischief maker in her own right. Enjoy!

A fun Regency read!

Charming story that has our young heroine flustered, confused and angry when her fiancé, Lord Grayson Colter, breaks off their engagement in the middle of the Clapsfort-on-Wye assembly ball.
Hot headed Kate Linnet is at a loss, constrained by having to parent her three younger sisters after the death of their mother in childbirth, she swings between the unspoken desire for freedom and her duty and responsibility.
Who sweeps in to save the day but her wicked auntie, Lady Honore Alameda, a rather scandalous doyen of society. She has come to take Kate away for a London season but somehow ends up with all four young women. One of the girls is not quite ready to debut, and Tilly the youngest, all of eleven, is rather precociously wonderful.
Of course things don’t run smoothly, Lady Honore’s plans are not necessarily the most prudent, but seem to get results.
Kate must contemplate some decisions—freely made. The making though is both amusing and frustrating. Kate learns to really listen to her heart, not so much her duty. I rather liked her interaction with the village ladies as her eyes are opened.
I must admit I’m unsure if Honore is a fractured fairy tale godmother, or a stand in for Auntie Mame from Travels With My Aunt. The latter gave me visions of the redoubtable Maggie Smith playing the erratic Aunt Honore, who whips a female relative away to make with them what she will, under the guise of looking for a companion.

I struggled to finish this book which seemed more like a book for elementary or junior high readers. The one character I like was Tilly and her dictionary corrections. Kate frustrated me. Greyson was not much better. Sorry to be so negative. I will not publish a review.

Kate Linnet became responsible for raising her three younger sisters ten years ago when she was herself barely more than a child. She has taken her responsibility seriously, and because of this, she tends to be bossy, opinionated, nagging – shrewish. Unfortunately, she extends this habit to her life-long friend and fiancé, former fiancé now, Lord Grayson Colter. After a public tiff, the engagement is off, and Kate is in the doldrums. The solution? Her notorious aunt, Lady Alameda, is taking her (and the three sisters) to London to give her a season and to forget Grayson. Will it work? It might not be easy since Grayson has followed her to London.

This is a warm, lighthearted, funny romance with absolutely delightful characters. Kate and Grayson have been best friends since childhood, and will make a wonderful couple once they get past this bump in the road to HEA. The sisters, especially Tilly, are sweet and funny, if a little bratty. Lady Alameda is well, Lady Alameda. Notorious and slightly flighty, apparently for a purpose. A nice story, likeable characters, and an eye-opening and heart-warming epilogue. A good read. I recommend it.

Kate doesn't know what she has until she loses him!

When Greyson has had enough of Kate's shrewish nitpicking, he very publicly calls off their engagement. The humiliation has Kate determined to launch herself into London Society, with her Aunt Honore's help, and find a way to regain her reputation while soothing her wounded ego. But after the death of her mother, she's been the main mother figure for her three younger sisters and she's not sure she even wants to get married, set up her own household, and continue to be bound by the responsibilities of family.

As she's working through all this, Greyson is determined to get her back while also making her how things have to change so they can be truly happy together. He's a fine gentleman, an honorable and faithful partner, even though his integrity puts him squarely in the middle of a series of unfortunate situations, mostly brought on by Kate's impulsiveness. He certainly is given a plethora of opportunities to demonstrate his character and devotion! These mishaps also work to show Kate what she really feels in her heart, and I really enjoyed the maturity she developed as she realized what she was risking.

But at the heart of the story is a delightfully madcap rom-com, filled with the kind of witty, chortle-out-loud humor that is rarely seen, and even rarer still to be done so intelligently. Every page, every paragraph is a joy to read, a feast for the mind and a treat for anyone who loves the power of words to build entire worlds in our minds. I especially enjoyed the hilarious back-and-forth between siblings of both generations, the inventive use of nicknames to convey opinions, and the heartfelt confrontations that finally gave Kate and Greyson the HEA they so richly deserve.

This was the first book I've read by this author, but I enjoyed it so much I immediately purchased the previous three in this series and put them at the top of my TBR. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.

A quick, easy read that’s lots of fun. Definitely more of a Regency romp for the YA set, but the witty dialogue and chemistry between the leads makes this a treat for all. I’ve yet to read a Kathleen Baldwin story I didn’t thoroughly enjoy.

Refreshing Humorous Regency Romance
This is a fun story to read. I generally do not read Regency romances and never read bodice rippers. This is a fun and clean story. It reads much like a play, or that is how it ran through my mind for most of the story. It is full of machinations of many trying to get 'their way'. In the end, it is a much deeper story of seeing the truth of many things and enjoying happiness when it is given to you. I will definitely read more of this author's work. I received this ARC book for free from Net Galley and this is my honest review.

Normally I am a fan of a regency romance but unfortunately this one didn't quite work for me. It attempted to be funny but missed the spot in my view. I found the plot to be a bit predictable and became bored less than half way through as it was obvious what was going to happen. Not for me but if you don't mind a bit of a farce and easy storyline then maybe OK for you

This book was such a fun time! I loved the characters and the storyline. Our heroine was such a blast and our hero was *insert smirk*. Loved the story and the dynamic between our leads. I would highly recommend this fun and fast paced book to really anyone who enjoys historical romance!

The Persuasion of Miss Kate by Kathleen Baldwin is a delightful read. This is the fourth book in her “My Notorious Aunt” series.

We first meet Kate in her garden, talking to herself as she snips her roses to bits following the end of her engagement after she was publicly humiliated by her former fiancé. Kate, whose mother is deceased, is responsible for the care of her younger sisters and longs for some independence. Following the broken engagement, Kate’s father calls on his sister, the “notorious aunt”, to take Kate to London for the season.

Somehow the younger sisters, as well as the former fiancé Lord Colter, make the trip as well. This leads to love and laughter, as well as some of the angst usually found in this genre. While this is considered “historical Christian fiction”, it is also quite humorous. I found myself laughing out loud quite often.

This book is the fourth in a series but it stands alone. I have not read any other of the books in the series. It is my first time reading any of Baldwin’s work and I enjoyed it very much. It’s easy to see why she is an award-winning author.

This was a quick easy read. I enjoyed the witty dialogue. The main character, Kate, was a little annoying at times, but who isn't? I liked the fast-paced storyline and hearing Kate's inner thoughts.
