This was a brilliant book, the author was so open and honest about her experiences which couldn't have been easy and it really helped me feel for her and her siblings in all they went through.
I've read several books on cults over the years and they tend to be mostly factual so having this from someone's personal perspective was really unique and changed how I experienced the book. I also really liked the fact that we got to experience so much of her life after the cult and see how she adapted to society. Again this is something that isn't often done but I found it really interesting and fresh approach to how a book like this is written.
It was heart wrenching at times but also really difficult to put down as I genuinely cares for faith and wanted to see how she overcame all that life threw at her.

This was a really interesting read which can definitely be used within a school setting to help facilitate debate and discussion.
