I found this book similar in style to Nora Roberts and I loved it. You have the fast pace of the hunt for a killer which is balanced perfectly with a slow burn romance. The suspense of whether their chemistry will develop adds to the tension of trying to work out who the killer is before someone else is murdered. It kept me guessing until the very dramatic ending. There are so many great characters and the author really manages to set the scene. The descriptions of the area made me feel like I was there. You can also never go wrong with a cute dog. I will definitely be going back for book one and I would love to see more from this duo.

I received a copy of the ebook via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review

This is the second book in the Author's Texas Murder series and can be read as a standalone .

Miranda Rhoads is renting a cottage in the town of Lost Beach .......... her life
as a Crime Scene Photographer behind her , she is currently fulfilling an assignment
to photograph wildlife .
Whilst out on the water at dawn looking for her latest wildlife shot she comes across
a canoe.......... inside a young couple shot dead . Lost Beach Detective , Joel Breda , is desperately
shorthanded , his investigation needs a top notch Crime Scene Photographer - can
he tempt her into helping the investigation ? ........ can she put the past behind her ?
It is only when Miranda follows up on the feather found at the scene that the Police
catch a break ..... there are links to other murders where feathers have been left behind .
It becomes a race against time to catch the killer before they strike again , perhaps
closer to home than they expect .

This a fast paced mystery , with a slow burn romance that I thoroughly enjoyed

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I hate when I miss the start of a new series! So I dropped into Texas for book 2 and I'll go back and read book 1 as my timetable allows LOL.

Miranda was a top-notch CSI but after a case went sideways, through no fault of her own, she decides to change the scenery and takes her hobby of nature photography to the next level and make a living out of it. But she is just about to get pulled right back into death and destruction.
Murder doesn't take a break.

Joel is one of the few detectives on their small town force. Along with his brother and the other cops, they're about to face the swarm of the summer season tourists. Not the best time for a murder victim to be found. But this homicide isn't as straightforward as they may hope for. And before the perp is found there will be another body or three to deal with!

Staged murders, potential serial killer(s), eco-warriors and more. Plenty to get your teeth into. The romance between Miranda and Joel is well written and perfectly timed. Joel is an absolute rockstar after dealing with the deception of his bestie and his ex BTW!

Off to get book 1!
