Sharp witted and told with a contemporary style that is easily relatable. SEE JANE SNAP by Bethany Crandell is an effortless escape and the kind of book you’ll want to pass along to all your girlfriends.

Jane’s marriage to Dan seems to be perfect from the outside, but within the confines of four walls things are definitely different. Jane is forced to ‘pretend’ and the pressure continues to build within, she’s ready to explode but must keep up appearances.
The truth of a women’s friendship network is extremely important, I’m pleased that Jane had a close support group. The plot is very emotional and angsty but with plenty of humour, I felt that Jane deserved happiness.

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

On the surface, Jane seems to have a blessed life. She has a successful husband who is a surgeon, a daughter who attends a prestigious private school. But, is Jane’s life really as good as it seems from an outsider’s perspective? There is so much going on behind closed doors that Jane eventually “snaps.” This book is a refreshing, easy read. As a working mother, I could relate to the many activities that Jane has to do on a daily basis. I think that many moms/wives will relate to this book. It was easy to get caught up in Jane’s character and I kept reading to see what would happen next. Thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for the advance review copy in exchange for my honest review.

Fun! Oh so fun! With so much work and responsibility these days, this book felt like an escape. It was really fast paced, character driven and fun side characters. I feel so lucky to have read this. No spoilers, JUST READ THE DAMN BOOK ALREADY.

This book captured me with the bright and unusual cover as having the oranges on the bright blue background stood out and then having the font in a white. I also have a couple of these authors' other books to read on my kindle. Other than the cover and the title, I didn't have an idea what the book was about, so went in blind. This book is written from the female POV - Jane who is trying to be the perfect wife and hold up this perfect family image as her husband of 18 years who is a top hospital surgeon has finally been caught by Jane in the act with another guy. She soon discovers that he is gay and has been cheating on her for the past 18 years. She would have divorced him but she has her daughter Avery to think of and then her sister Julie and her mother who has Dementia and in a home. Without Dan's financial support, she wouldn't be able to provide for them all - so she goes along with the facade of living the perfect life as a Stepford wife. That is until one day she completely breaks down and snaps in the middle of a grocery parking lot and assaults a lady with oranges - hence the cover. This leads her to have to attend a course for first-time offenders where Jane will finally learn to open up and discover what it is like to be finally her "real and true self" and in this, she may discover her happiness and the push she needs to finally stand up to her husband Dan. See Jane Snap is a women's fiction book about rediscovering yourself and giving yourself a second chance at life when you are considered middle-aged and that it is never too late to find your happiness bubble.

Good grief, this was one of the funniest and heart-rending books I have read lately. This was also a speedy read, and I highly recommend this for anyone looking for a great beach read. Oddly this plotline(partner lying about sexuality) is becoming a popular one for me lately. This is the second book in a row that uses this idea.

I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for something different. Something that will make you wet your pants ( and I literally did so-but then again, at my age, that is to be expected!LOL!) laughing at parts and then find yourself crying during other parts. The ending is just slightly vague, but you can tell that there is at least a hopeful happy ever after!

There is some swearing, and that could be expected, one semi0-sexual scene but nothing too explicit.

I was on the cusp of 3 & 4 stars - I read it eagerly and enjoyed the story a lot, but felt it was very cliched and not fresh, but overall I enjoyed the book so 4 won out…

The ‘new friends’ portion was a bit too much rough diamonds/hearts of gold, and the ending was so PC and far fetched, but still a very decent read.

Jane is a PTA president, busy mom and devoted wife who is coping with the fact that her life is falling apart. After getting some news about her husband's affairs, she is forced to play the part of loyal wife as her husband is in the works of securing a large donation to the hospital that he works at. Jane tries to keep herself from falling apart, but everyone has a breaking point, and Jane has just hit hers. The book was entertaining and funnier than I had expected it to be! It was a good lighthearted read.

3.5 stars. This is a fun read. I enjoy books like this that don't take themselves too seriously. See Jane Snap is about an unhappily married mom who is trying to hold her life and her family's lives together by a string. But one day that string just POPS and Jane SNAPS. She's been living life for everyone but herself, all for the sake of what's safe. But after her very public meltdown, she is forced to look at her life and determine if she can find the courage to abandon this charade.

‘I am strong
I am capable,
I can conquer the world’ is Jane’s mantra. Jane has so much weighing in her shoulders and so many people relying on her that she is a babbling cauldron of anxiety and panic. Slap a smile on Jane, hide your innermost anger, fury and pain ..... until she can’t and snaps extremely spectacularly.

There’s a lot going on in this novel, some things are maybe skimmed over a bit but the central core of family relationships especially with her surgeon husband Dan and troubled twelve year old daughter Avery is very well done. Dan is awful, there’s no two ways about it, he’s self centred, demanding and very hard to like despite his issues. As a real contrast to Dan, Jane is extremely likeable. I enjoy the way she’s (almost) talking to us, confessing all, snapping it all out to us with a no holds barred portrayal of everything that’s wrong in her life and there’s plenty! She becomes like a pressure cooker and oh boy, does she blow. There are some parts of the book that are very funny and a few times the vivid, colourful and slightly surreal events make me howl with laughter. The novel confronts a number of issues and does so in an entertaining way - it’s about love, trust, forgiveness, the importance of honesty and confronting uncomfortable truths so you don’t live a lie and well, snap! I like the way it all comes to a head, it maybe resolved a bit too neatly but all in all it’s an ending Jane richly deserves.

Overall, an entertaining, well written book that is easy to glide through and enjoy.

With thanks to NetGalley and Montlake for the much appreciated arc in return for an honest review.

This is a fun book about a woman who has a lot of stress and snaps. But, it’s when she snaps, that she starts to figure out how to deal with her life in a more constructive way.

Jane Osborne is the wife of a very successful, prominent surgeon. She’s on every fundraising committee in the hospital and her daughter’s private school. She’s happily married until Dan, her husband tells her he’s gay and has been having affairs with men throughout their 18-year marriage. Now her daughter, Avery has been acting out in school, and her husband Dan, is forcing her to act like a happily married wife, so he can acquire the funding needed for the new hospital wing. But Jane isn’t used to lying, especially to her friends and family.

This is a cute, fast-paced book, where I just flew through the pages. Jane is a relatable character, busy mom, busy wife, and a sister and mother who also need her, I think many of us can relate to her busy life, and her pressures. Her husband Dan was not so relatable. He has a secret life and believes his wife should stay by his side in order to save his career. At least his wife is upset by his betrayal rather than his being a gay man, but his reluctance to come out to the world is a bit cringeworthy in this modern world.

There are some wonderful side characters with lots of charm and quirkiness, plus some laugh-out-loud moments. I found this a fun quick read, that I enjoyed immensely.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Trudged through the book, not really a fan.

Thanks to publisher and Netgalley for the chance to read this book. While I got the book for free, it had no bearing on the rating I gave it.

See Jane Snap - Bethany Crandell
From the outside, Jane looks like she has the picture perfect life. Her surgeon husband, her beautiful daughter, chair of the PTA, and involved with many other charities and events. But when Janes husband admits he's gay and has been cheating on her for the past 18 years, she's forced into living a double life. With the future of the cardio department at the hospital up in the air, Jane is forced into playing the perfect wife while they work together in awkwardess to gain a large donation from a more conservative, family oriented donor.
Everything comes to a head when Jane finally witnesses her husband sneaking around with man. She snaps.
The consequences of her snapping lead her to confront the decisions that have been made for her and leaves her grasping for a bit of stability, but what price will Jane have to pay to get the stability, sanity and life that she deserves?
See Jane Snap is a book that I think any person out there could relate to. The pressures from our lives, when not dealt with, can definitely lead to a build up of frustration leading us to snap. Bethany Crandell gave the best character development of Jane. You rooted for her right from the beginning, wanting her to get her happy ending! I found myself having a chuckle during many moments in the book that kept me wanting more. I actually loved it so much that I finished it in one day. For everyone looking for a book to curl up by the pool/beach/lake with this summer, this is it!
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐/5!
Thank you so much Netgalley for kicking off my summer reads with this incredible ARC!

Just finished reading this. What a fabulous book, it has funny moments, heartbreaking and heartwarming moments I couldn't put it down and would definitely recommend it.
It covers some issues that are very true to life without spoiling or 'making it up" I think the way the subject is felt with was very kind. I always love a boon that leaves me saying "what happens next?"

It was a good read, and kept me entertained until the end. Although I found the lead character very irritating at times - and the ending was a little bit too happy. If only real life always worked out. But all in all, it was an easy read, and good holiday reading material.

**Massive thank you to NetGalley and the publisher for this ARC e-book**

Wow, ok. I absolutely adored reading this. This is my first book by Bethany Crandell and now I need to read everything else she's written. The writing is witty and funny. Like, the very first paragraph had me cackling! It was so enjoyable to read. The main character, Jane, is struggling to keep everything together amidst much strife in her life. An angry, ungrateful teenager and a husband who has recently revealed he's cheating...and gay! In order to maintain their perfect marriage image and save her husband's job, she has to act like nothing is wrong. Needless to say, she's barely hanging on to her sanity. Finally, she can't take it anymore and decides to sneak a few of her friend's Zoloft just to help her relax a bit. My friends it is NOT Zoloft! What ensues is a funny heartwarming story of a woman navigating her life through a difficult period and finding happiness and new relationships filled with love and warmth. Please read this book. It's so wonderful. Easily a new all-time favorite!

This book was funny, sad and hopeful all at the same time. It’s not your typical failed marriage book.
There are a few hidden surprises so it's difficult to fit it into a genre, but if I had to it would be "up-lit".
It adds a few different elements to the story. Easy to read and very entertaining.
