3 disturbing stars. ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️ *Please note this is the second in a series. I did not know this prior to reading… however, you CAN read this one without the first.

Forensic Psychologist Nadine Finch has only just arrived home from FBI training when she is thrown into a new case. Someone is killing women in her hometown, which also happens to be the former stomping grounds of another serial killer: Nadine’s own mother. Nadine quickly realizes the killer is targeting women in Nadine’s outer circle. But why?

This book is quite disturbing. Fewer details would have made for a more pleasant read... That aside, the story wasn’t bad. The criminal profiling is very interesting and the whole book reminded me of watching an episode of Criminal Minds (good show, also disturbing at times). Since this was the second book and I did not read the first, I feel like I kind of missed out on connecting to the characters and character development.

Thank you to NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review this ARC in exchange for an honest opinion.

With many thanks to the author, Bookouture and Netgalley for this ACR in exchange my honest review.

Beautiful story and plot. Good writing. It's very fast paced. Definitely it's very thrilling and chilling, so intense and full of twists. You couldn't know what's next and completely guess wrong. The ending is so awesome. Perfect and well-developed characters drew my full attention with thrilling. From the beginning, I have already hooked and had me on the edge of my seat till the very end. Certainly I am looking forward to the next book. Highly recommend.

What a thrill ride! The suspense and tension had me holding my breath and my heart pounding more than once. The characters are complex and completely suck you in. I'm completely invested in them. Clint is probably my favorite. Followed closely by Nadine. I liked that there was more of Tina and Juliette in this book. The author is really fleshing out this team and I can't wait for more.
The mystery is intense and full of twists. The killer perspective scenes are chilling. I was completely wrong about who it was. And I loved the ending. While the final sentence made me want the next book now. Well done.

How do you live knowing that your mother is a serial killer, your grandfather, and uncle are murderers, and your brother is in jail? For most, this is unimaginable! How does a family end up with so many killers? Is there a trait that they all carry, or is it the way they were raised, or both?

For FBI Agent Nadine Finch, this is her family tree, and the issues that she struggles with daily. While profiling the horrific people, who commit these crimes. Can Nadine break this trait, and lead a semi normal life. Or is she bound to be a murderer like her family?

Nadine just steps out of Quantico, and back into the arms of her boyfriend Detective Clint Demko.
When she is called back into work on a chilling new case, in her hometown of Ocala, Florida. This killer is leaving bodies in Nadine's mothers, old hunting grounds. Is this a coincidence or is the killer trying to lure Nadine home? As more bodies start dropping, and the disturbing details come in. You know there is something more to this killer, then meets the eye.

Jenna Kernan writes a spine-tingling thriller, that leaves you on the edge of your seat until the very end. Kernan does a fantastic job of keeping the killer, just out of reach, his blurry figure there, watching your every move. You will fall in love with the characters and the background stories that help develop them. You are in for a thrill ride, and everyone needs to jump on. Thank you to Netgalley for allowing me to read this suspenseful, gripping book!

Nadine Finch is barely out of FBI training when she is assigned to another case. Her “ team”is comprised of people like her, those who have had a parent who murdered people.
This was my first book in this series and it took me awhile to catch up, fans of this series will enjoy the fast paced thrill ride and first timers, like me, need to catch up quickly so we are ready for more of Nadine and friends !

Amazing book! I was hooked from the first pages! This bok took me on a wild ride! And in was there for it!
Characters were well developed! Amazing writing. Beautiful plot!

Stumbling through the pitch-black forest, twigs scratching her bare feet, she sobs as she imagines her children crying for their mommy to put them to bed. By now everyone will know she is missing. Please, please let me find the way home. Before he comes back.

Thanks NG And Bookouture

Fresh out of FBI academy training, Forensic Psychologist Nadine Finch is immediately asked to return to her hometown to help track a new serial killer. She request her unique team, homicide detective/boyfriend Clint Demko, medical examiner Juliette Hartfield and her assistant Tina Ruz to accompany her. They are unique in that all of their mothers are either serial killers or murderers.

After solving the murders of the Copycat Killer in the last book in her home town, Nadine was not looking forward to returning. What she and the team don't know is this killer lured her there for his own nefarious purpose.

Nadine struggles with her family history. Her grandfather, mother and uncle are all murderers. Her mother being one of the worst female serial killers on record. Her brother is also in prison. She fears its in her genes to also become a killer but yet she feels empathy for the victims and a driving need to catch killers and put them away. Both her family's history and her need to put killers away gives her an unique perspective on serial killers which helps her catch them.

This was another thrilling read in a captivating series. Looking forward to what's next for Nadine and her unique team.

A heartpounding thriller, this really made me wish I had read the first book in this series! I couldn’t put the book down.

Forensic Psychologist Dr. Nadine Finch, newly made FBI Agent steps off the plane after long months of training to be assigned a double murder in the Ocala National Forest in Florida. The last place she wants to be as this is where her mother (the serial killer) did her killing and hiding of bodies.
2 bodies, become 3, … and it becomes personal – the Huntsman wants Nadine. I hesitate to give more details about the story as I don’t want to give it away, but if you liked “A Killer’s Daughter” you will like the details, psychological twists, action, … and more comes to light about Nadine’s family.
Great 2nd book in the series, the characters are evolving, I like that Nadine is learning to be herself not her past or her family. And just like book 1, I could not put the book down! And based on the ending, yeah for book 3 😉
Thank you to NetGalley and Bookouture for letting me read this book for my honest opinion.

Fast paced thriller about a serial killer. This book is so thrilling and scary that it actually kept me up at night. I highly recommend this one.

The last thing FBI agent Nicci Finch wants is to return to Ocala National Forest in Florida, but she has no choice when she must investigate the death of Nikki Darnell. The dead woman was on her honeymoon and Nicci believes the woman was hunted down and then drowned, and when another woman is killed in the same way, Nicci believes the murders are all connected to her and what happened fifteen years earlier. I wanted to like this book more than I did, I’m very familiar with Ocala and looked forward to see it coming to life in this mystery, but the story line seemed jumbled and confusing.

Wow I think I loved this book even more than the first. I couldn't wait to get my hands on this one and knew I had to start it as soon as possible. I've been so excited that I've devoured this book in just one sitting.
I have loved the fact that we revisit characters from the previous book. I feel that I have been invested in them and it has been lovely to return to them and complete the journey through another case. I adore Nadine and Clint, they are a great pair who are integral to these books.
While this is the second in the series, the book reads perfectly as a standalone. However, I definitely recommend the first book. The author gives us enough information to be able to read this one, although you definitely have the full picture from reading both.
I adore the cover of this one, not that it made any difference. As soon as the lovely ladies at Bookouture mentioned this one, I was excited to read. I have been completely converted as a huge fan of this author and absolutely need more books.
The ending of this one has made me excited for what may come next. I absolutely hope the Nadine series will continue because I am too invested for it to come to an end just yet.
The author has pulled me in from page one and this is a book I have been completely hooked by. I wish I could re-read both of these books for the first time.
I 100% recommend this book and this author. This is most definitely a five star read. I have adored this one
