I have to admit, I don't have much patience with self-help books. Many of them go all "woo" on you, or repeat themselves endlessly, saying the same thing over and over again, or just present things in a way that makes you feel like only perfect people can do all that. This isn't one of those books. Bassols offers gentle, easy instructions on four basic principles- meditation, visualization, implementation, and internalization- then moves to different aspects of our lives that we might wish to achieve more calm in. While the four principles are repeated with each aspect, they are tweaked to fit the situation, so it doesn't feel like repetition so much as how to application, how to apply these actions to suit your needs. You're essentially learning how to reprogram your thinking to be better able to achieve a sense of calm. I appreciate that through all this, the text never feels wibbly wobbly woo, if you get what I mean- it feels practical, it's good advice, I can actually see myself using the techniques and being successful for doing so. The book is set up nicely, with a good flow throughout; you can go through from start to finish easily, but if you prefer, you can skip around through the exercises without feeling like you've disrupted the flow. Visually, the book is calming, with soft colors, touches of gold, and flowing shapes bordering the text on each page. I don't recommend a lot of self-help books, but I'd definitely recommend this one.

I did not finish this book. I found the format it was provided in, digitally, to be challenging and in some spots impossible to read. As excited as I was to get an advanced copy of this book, and as grateful as I felt at the time, I couldn't deal with the zooming in and out to try and read . . . I'm sure in hard copy this is a beautiful book that's easy to follow. However, this didn't come across the in the digital copy provided.

Beautiful book with many different exercises for you to gain more knowledge on triggers and causes of your own personal stress. A teacher in a secondary school, I found that I could use some of the exercises to help pupils who were finding the return to school after lockdown difficult. Helpful book which enables you to recognise those inner demons and take control and Find Your Calm!

As someone who owns a lot of different self help books, this one is by far my favourite! Instantly the colours drew me in, they were calm and I found them really helpful throughout.
This is a book I will defiantly be purchasing and recommending to anyone who needs it.
I will always refer to this book as and when I need to, although after reading this I feel I will be able to put things in place to help in the future.

Thank you netgalley for allowing me to read and review this book.

I love the design. The colors and shapes were gorgeous but also calming to match the book's theme (This doesn't always happen. Each chapter is broken down into the idea and four actions: meditate, visualize,
implement, and internalize. The chapters are not overly long and the directions for the activities are easy to follow. This is something I would reccomend.

Like every review of this book says, I have to begin by saying that Find Your Calm is beautiful. The color pallet and design of the pages is rather calming in itself. I appreciated that instead of just a long list of the author's observations about her own behavior there was an actionable plan for change. The book is laid out so that each chapter is a different aspect of life where you might need more calm and Bassols gives you a four step process to get there: meditate, visualize, implement, and internalize. This book could really help the right person who is dedicated to creating change in their life, live in a calmer, more mindful fashion. The down-side to this guidebook layout is that it lacks readability if you're looking for a book to read cover-to-cover and maybe glean a few tips from.

This book is beautifully designed and very well organized. Johanna Bassols writes very well and has this book broken down into sections that are easy to read and make sense.

I am a self confessed self help book junky and Find Your calm was such a beautiful and practical read.

The book has great tips for helping to find your calm, transform your mind and find peace in your life. The book is so beautifully presented and would make the perfect gift for friends or loved ones.

It is a timely read for anyone that maybe struggling right now with the global pandemic we are all currently facing.

Although i did not find many of the tips etc to be any different from other self-help books previously read of the same nature. I did however enjoy the content and it is always great to refresh your mind and it is a book that I would love to add to my collection.

First the book is beautiful and the colors are very soothing. I enjoyed the process of working through each section of the book. There are meditations throughout and very helpful instructions on being mindful and present. I will be implementing a few of the meditations into my well being routines.

I will start by saying that this book is beautiful. The cover, the pages, the titles, all of it is very pretty and very cohesive and that’s definitely a plus in my book. I tough the language used was very accessible and not overly scientific, as can be the case in many self-help books. Unfortunately for me, this book didn’t really have any new information or techniques. If you are a person who regularly reads this genre you probably won’t find this very useful. I enjoyed reading this, even though I found it a bit repetitive, and I would recommend it for people who don’t usually pick up self-help books and would like to give them a try.

I wasn’t sure what to expect from this book so I came into this review with a very open mind. The first thing I noticed was how beautiful and delicate the colors are on the pages as well as the gold heading font. I like that it gives the different ideals such as healing the perspective of the present and then lays out the necessary tools. Just a beautiful book all around.

This book is certainly beautiful! I love the marble-style backgrounds. It's just a shame the book doesn't have much substance! Nothing new or original, the same-old-same-old stuff.
Didn't get much from this book at all, beautiful to look at - but nothing that will actually stay with me, or change my way of life!

Thanks for the chance to read this book in exchange for honest feedback! Well, right off the bat I can say my favorite thing about this book was its design. I liked the watercolor splash style backgrounds, especially the way they changed colors as the sections changed. I thought the fonts and design layout gave this read a modern vibe. As for the content, it is nothing new or breakthrough in this area, but it is delivered in a way that would be helpful for someone who is looking for an immersive guide rather than just platitudes.
