Attack of a the giant baby!! Help!!

Very good, another excellent story from David Lucas.

A giant baby is ravaging the kingdom - knocking down walls, pulling apart train tracks. Will anything stop him? One princess tries to remind everyone that he's 'just a baby' but nobody listens of course.

A great little story about perspective, about keeping your head, about assessing the situation and staying calm and looking at things clearly. Or just about stomping around and destroying things.

I loved the change in perspective at the end, and how children will understand what's been going on. And the final page will make them laugh too.

Lots of imagination here, and I do love the 'unfinished' and untidy look to the illustrations. As well as the half real-half toy look to the scenes, with coloured block/stone walls and toys in the kingdom.

Very clever, and will capture interest. For ages 3-6.

With thanks to Netgalley for providing a sample reading copy.

The kingdom is being attacked by a giant baby!! How are we going to stop him? My girls really enjoyed this as it reminded them of their 1 year old sister.
A lovely book with charming illustrations!

It starts with a royal messenger bursting in and disturbing the king and queens breakfast “There’s a GIANT BABY destroying everything in its path!” The messenger exclaims and as you turn the pages and read through the story, you are taken on humorous journey alongside the royal family as they try to defend their kingdom and stop the giant baby from destroying everything in its path.

This is a funny story, that will have children laughing and adults smiling as the King and Queen try everything they can think of to try and save their kingdom. It has lovely illustrations that can be followed along with the story and the characters show enough expression that you can see their different emotions on the pages. It’s an ideal length to hold its younger audiences attention, it’s fast-paced and an easy read.

I enjoyed this book, and in places found it quite amusing. I did find in places that the wording used is a bit too complex for the intended audience to understand, like at the table when the royal family are coming up with a plan and using terms like ‘diplomacy’ ‘negotiations’ and ‘international peace’, these aren’t words used in a child’s day to day so could be confusing. But still, it’s a lovely book and would make a nice little bed time story for a parent/carer to read to their little one.

A ,overly funny and heartwarming book about the chaos a baby can create. The king and queen don”t know how to save their castle, but the princess knows just who to call! Lovely illustrations and a great story for young children., who will enjoy the antics of the baby and the ending gives the adult reader a chance to ask “ what do you think...?” A great book for young listeners or reader.

A fun story about a toy castle and it’s occupants who come alive and are worried about the giant baby causing havoc. Great pictures and good story. Looking forward to the next in the series.

This is a fun story about a giant baby causing chaos throughout the kingdom. The King and Queen don't know what to do! Only the Princess remains calm as buildings and trains get broken up and destroyed. All is ok in the end once the baby finds his mum. I'm sure Early Years children would love this story about a giant baby causing so much trouble! A lovely funny story to share with little ones and spark their imagination. Gorgeous illustrations too! Thank you to NetGalley and Bloomsbury Publishing for this eARC.
