The Big Bad Wolf is supposed to be in 2 popular traditional tales at the same time! But he can't help being late when he's meant to be in 2 places at once! So he quits and goes on holiday! Other fairytale characters pitch in to help out and learn that the role of the Big Bad Wolf isn't easy. How will they fix their stories?

This is a fun take on 2 popular tales (mainly The Three Little Pigs) giving children an opportunity to learn how stories can be changed and adapted.

With bright pictures and accessible language, this book will engage the youngest readers and maybe give them a different view of the Big Bad Wolf.

This picture book is great fun. What happens when the Big Bad Wolf has taken on so many stories he just can't keep up? And what if he quits altogether? A playful picture book that draws on the big bad wolf tales and flips them around a little. There's delightful illustrations and lots of fun on every page. A great way to explore well known fairytales and how we can recreate new ones with a new perspective.

We are big fans of twist on traditional fairytales and this one was no different, with awesome graphics, so much fun to follow along the journey of the wolf who is always late and how important each aspect of the original story is
will be adding a physical copy of this to our collection for sure

This is a lovely story about the wolf from a different perspective. It links a few fairy tales with the wolf in and how important he is to the story.
This book is a great book for children learning about fairytales and beginning to make their own versions or alternatives. This book with it’s engaging story and bright pictures will make a great book to read aloud to a class. It also will make a good book for children to share and enjoy themselves.
Lots of good teaching could be developed through this book as children can explore the characters feelings and view points. It will encourage children to look at the characters from differing perspectives. A great book for a school library and classroom..

A fresh twist on the classic fairytale, There Is No Big Bad Wolf In This Story is a fun read for young readers who are prompted to ask what might happen next when the villain of the story goes AWOL.

This time, the characters need the wolf’s help, which is a great approach to children’s fiction as we get to see another side to a character we know for being bad, allowing young readers to see the good in others.

I love Allwright’s illustration, and the different layouts on each page really take you on an adventure.

It’s a brilliant short read for young readers who are familiar with the classic fairytales, but I think older audiences might expect a little more, so I would have loved the story to go even further and incorporate even more fairytales and characters.

Saying that, it would make a great short book series and young readers are sure to have a lot of fun with it.

This book is lovely., the illustrations are eye catching and the text easy to read. We loved guessing what The Big Bad Wolf was going to do. Everyone was cross with the Big Bad Wolf because he was always late but they soon realised they can't manage without him. Thank you for the opportunity to read and review this book.

Being the villain of two fairytales is hard work! The Big Bad Wolf is always running late and he's fed up with all the other characters being cross with him. He can't be at Granny's house and terrorising the three little pigs at the same time, and if Granny, Little Red and the pigs don't understand that, then they'll have to do their stories without him. But that's okay, because fairytales don't really need a Big Bad Wolf, do they?

This funny story offers a fresh twist on a number of well loved fairytales, with cameo appearances from the gingerbread man and a wicked witch. Allwright's illustrations are bright and sweet, from grumpy pigs to pretty houses. The layouts were interesting too, with winding paths for wolf to race across and a 'story book' at the beginning and end.

My children giggled at the characters attempts to replace the wolf, which don't go nearly as well as they hope! This is a fun picture book that can be enjoyed again and again.

I was provided with an advanced copy for review on NetGalley.

A droll look at the world of fairy-tales and what might happen if the wolf goes on strike. We're shown that there is just nobody else good enough to huff and puff down the houses of the three little pigs, and Little Red Riding Hood might just as well stay at home. It's reasonable enough, but I think I expected a little bit more from it. Three and a half stars.

What a fabulous book with the familiarity of the fairy tale characters but a new twist and story. The illustrations are appealing and fun but also have a hint of maturity to the them.
My children really enjoyed the idea of the Big Bad Wolf not fulfilling his job and then how the other characters cope, my little girl found this very funny and made the book an instant hit.

Every bit as charming as Red Reading Hood! My little ones loved exploring the illustrations and found something to enjoy on every page!

This was a lot of fun. I liked the idea of the Big Bad Wolf quitting his job and the other fairy tale characters not managing without him. It's a nice introduction to looking at how the villain in a story is just as important as the good guys, and how help and support makes everything work better. The illustrations are great as well. Definitely one that would work with story times and for some sessions with older children about how we build stories and twist traditional tales.

I loved this story! At first the title and front cover really drew me in and I know it will inspire and engage young children as they are familiar with most fairytale stories and the infamous Big Bad Wolf.

It was an interesting twist on your traditional fairytale which will prompt discussion and maybe even allow children the opportunity to rewrite other tales with characters missing or different characters added! I can really see this book working in a classroom setting!

The illustrations were fantastic and I loved the way the text told the story in different shapes and patterns.

There is also a lovely theme of friendship which will be great to explore too.

I thought that this was a brilliant short read ! The story and the illustrations really draw you into the book , big bold colours helping build the picture in a child's imagination.

It is a fun storyline.... which definitely makes me think differently of the big bad wolf! It also made me realise how many books he features in. This is a great fun, quick read for young children. I'd definitely recommend it

There is no Big Bad Wolf in this story because he has had enough and he quits! A great modern twist on a big character from popular fairy tales.

This is such a lovely tale about appreciating other’s, not taking others for granted and how working together and helping one another can benefit all.

The big bad wolf has had enough of being taken for granted. The expectations of him are ridiculous and he just can’t do it. No one can be in two places at once, let alone two stories, and the Big Bad Wolf is done! He will not do it no more. He friends think that’s fine because they can manage without him but soon learn that being a Big Bad Wolf is not as easy as it seems.

I absolutely loved this story. It was a sweet story, with a good, clear message and added humour. It has lovely, fun illustrations. The characters will be known to most children, so they will have some understanding of the history in those and how they relate to the story within the pages. Children will find this fun and engaging and I can already picture the giggles of my little peeps from work as I read the story to them.

This is a story I 100% recommend for younger children and I can see if finding a place on the bookshelf in my room at work, when released :)

I really enjoyed this book. Always a fan of a postmodern fairytale picture book and this doesn't disappoint. Funny text and lovely engaging pictures.

This is a great book and would be an excellent companion to the more traditional stories used for the EYFS Fairytales topic.

The twist here is that the Big Bad Wolf has a problem with punctuality and is struggling to appear in all of the stories at the same time, which is irritating the other characters.

The illustrations are lovely: bright and full of humour and are presented in a range of interesting ways.

Definitely a book to add to the shopping list.

A lovely twist on the usual Big Bad Wolf. Great visual impact - not too much text and charming illustrations. This would be a wonderful choice in EYFS when following a fairy tale theme.

4☆ A Loveable, Fun and Entertaining Children's Picture Book!

Oh what an Endearing and Loveable Children's Picture Book.
If you love the stories of Little Red Riding Hood and The Three Little Pigs, then you will adore this twist.

The Big Bad Wolf is fed up with trying to be in two stories at the same time and getting no appreciation or help for it.
So he decides to quit his roles in the stories.

Everyone thinks they can cope without him and give it a good try, but when Dragon decides to lend a helping flame things take a disastrous turn.

Can the little pigs, Grandma and Little Red get the Big Bad Wolf back in the stories or has he had enough of not being appreciated!

This charming book, teaches children to be Kind, Work Together, Appreciate each other and Problem Solve.
This book is ideal for children aged 5-7 years. The pictures are eye catching, beautifully illustrated and help bring the book to life.
