I must firstly apologise for the amount of time it has taken me to provide a review of this book, my health was rather bad for quite some time, something that had me in hospital on numerous occasions and simply didnt leave me with the time I once had to do what I love most.

Unfortunately that does mean I have missed the archive date for many of these books, so It would feel unjust throwing any review together without being able to pay attention to each novel properly.

However, I am now back to reading as before and look forward to sharing my honest reviews as always going forward. I thank you f0r the patience and understanding throughout x

I struggle with third person POV books! Also, this one never indicated whose POV I was reading and when, which made for a difficult time following along.

Eventually, I got into it and the story was great! The banter and chemistry from Jeni and Logan was perfection. You can tell they really liked one another and the fact they were there for one another through a very difficult experience was all the better.

I’m so glad I got the chance to read this friends to lovers grope romance and it was a quick read, at that! Thanks for the opportunity!

Cute light read I read it on my plane ride to and from my vacation easy to follow along and just enough drama to keep me untreated!

I want to thank Netgalley and the author for gifting me the ebook. A cute cover. A cute women's fiction romance. Recommend

HOME SWEET MESS is a sweet and tender love story with lots of humour and witty banter (which I adore!) I really connected with the characters and thought the author did a great job of incorporating heavy subject matter in a way that added to the romance. Allison Ashley is definitely on my must-read romance author list.

Fantastic. See my 5 star review on Goodreads and Bookbub. Looking forward to the authors next book!

This was an enjoyable read that was not light as it covers family issues, cancer, sibling relationships, and more.
Logan was such an amazing character whilst Jeni was not so likable for a good portion of the book.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book received from the publisher via NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

I enjoyed this, it was a cute and light story, yeah it was a bit predictable at times, but I didn’t enjoy it any less because of this. Lovely piece of escapism

Excited was an understatement when the author messaged me the other day offering me this book early. I thought I had to wait to June, so this was just great.

❤ Slow burn
❤ enemies to lovers
❤ Brothers best friend

I really enjoyed Logan and Jeni’s story a lot, I loved the banter the pair had between them. Even though to start with there was a bit of hate thrown in. You could tell there was attraction though and that definitely changed it from hate to friendly.

Logan and Jeni have both had horrible pasts where they have been hurt badly by people they loved. Sadly though Jeni is living her present by living in her past and really not giving her future a chance. Hopefully Logan can break those walls down.

I really enjoyed Logan mum, she adored her son and never held any punches.

Honestly though jeni also annoyed me, seriously girl just move on, but I also know that can be easier said than done.

Loved the storyline, however I did think Andrew and Lauren happened a little fast, though I guess that was some Insta love going on.

Great characters, I really enjoyed catching up with them again.

Looking forward to reading more from this author, well done on book number 2.

ARC received from Netgalley and author/publisher in exchange for an honest review. Opinions expressed are my own and have not been influenced in any way.

I did not expect to like this book as much as i did! It was the perfect blend of sweet and a little angst. This book also had one of my all time favourite trope; brother's best friend, so that was definitely a plus point!

I loved the banter between the characters, they had so much chemistry and i wasn't once bored while reading it. This also had reverse grumpy sunshine trope which was really surprising and refreshing!
Their chemistry was mind blowing and although it had fade to black sex scenes, i didn't mind it, and we could still see the mc's were crazy about each other!
i loved the relationship bw jeni and her brother, they were so sweet!
Although at times i got really annoyed w jeni (just at the end dont worry) i really liked how she groveled to get back logan and it was the opposite. Also im in love w the author for these reversal tropes!
so i definitely recommend this book.

There are some stories that you just can't put down and consume you. This is one of those! I didn't want it to end. It was beautifully written considering that there are some hard topics covered in here. I loved the mix of tropes we have a real mixture of some of my favourites all covered by one couple and it was never choppy or messy it flowed and worked so well. I adored the slow burn and progression and most of all I LOVED Logan! It's very rare for me to find a story where the storyline feels like a total reverse of the traditions girl falls for guy, gets heartbroken, he makes a grand gesture and we have a happy ending and I was all for it. It was a breath of fresh air. This story felt authentic and real and broke my heart multiple times and on the other flip of the coin had me laughing and smiling like a goof. Honestly I don't know where this story has been all my life I wish I had made it more of a priority. Loved it!

This was a super fun one. I had never read Allison Ashley before, but it won't be my last time.

I really was into these characters and their story, rooting for it to unfold in a good way.

Can't wait for more!

Thanks #netgallery for this book in exchange for an honest review. I would say this book was middle of the road. Nothing special in a romance book. Nothing horrible. Quick read. As I sports fan, I enjoyed football being a part of the story.

I loved this book! A story of love and loss, but with plenty of happiness. Full of lots of feelings. A sweet and lovely read that leaves you feeling good.

Could not put this book down. Loved the story of Jeni and Logan and their once in a lifetime love. This book in a way was about two broken people who were able to find the right pieces for them. A wonderful read

I received this book as an ARC from NetGalley.

Logan Davis is a player - he loves women and beds anyone who wants to be bedded.
Jeni Bishop is new in town and will never remarry despite only being in her 20's.
When their worlds collide via Jeni's twin brother, who happens to be Logan's BFF, who is diagnosed with cancer. Logan and Jeni begin to bond and have a friendship. Logan wants more of a relationship, Jeni just wants a booty-friend. How will this end?

This book was fantastic. I did not realize that there was a first book that goes along with this storyline - it goes through the brother's cancer diagnosis. I need to go find that book!

Home Sweet Mess was a heart warming book about two people with messy pasts and opposite views of their potential future together. This romance is well written and centers around Jeni, a CPS worker new to Kansas City, and Logan, her twin brother's best friend and NFL team social media manager. Jeni is competitive, direct, and relationship averse. Logan is a complete flirt who wants what he (seemingly) can't get - Jeni.
This book has a fair amount of fun banter and some heart-string pulling moments, too.
Overall, this book is a nice fall (football season!) read. I wasn't completely sold on the timeline of their relationship, as well as a secondary one in the book, but c'est la vie!
Thanks for the arc!

Looking for some snarky and quick witted repartee? How about a fast read about two people who are doing everything they can not to fall into the enemies to lovers genre? No? Well what about a good football rivalry? None of that got you yet? Ok then, how about this… a heartwarming and emotional story about a woman who loves social work and wants to help children in the foster system with a brother just recently diagnosed with cancer, who then unexpectedly teams up with his annoying best friend to help with said brothers care, not to mention has sparkling chemistry with best friend but wants noting to do with relationships.
I bet that one got ya!

Well if you mash all of the above together you get Allison Ashley’s sophomore novel HOME SWEET MESS. Let me tell you this one grabs you from the beginning and is unputdownable. I smiled, I laughed, I cried, and at one time I even snorted while reading this delightful book. With brilliantly written main characters and some whimsical and entertaining secondary cast, @authorAllisonAshley has put together a heartening story that gives you all the feels. The only downside to this book is that you are longing for more once you finish, it’s THAT good. Highly recommend. Perfect for a one day beach trip.

This was a lovely read by Allison Ashley and the companion to her previous book, Perfect Distraction. Jeni has had some issues in love and isn't looking for anything when she meets her brothers friend, Logan. Sparks fly but with a difference of opinion on relationships, the story is emotional, sweet and fun to read. Thank you netgally for this arc in exchange for my honest opinion.
