Now, this was a fun romp through a Regency setting, playfully inspired by Mean Girls and the works of Jane Austen. One thing I enjoyed here was how well Croucher blended together humour with genuine social critique, which is rather novel to see in a book. The characters were engaging and I stayed up well into the night reading to see what would happen next—definitely a recommendation for anyone who happens to be into Bridgerton.

I absolutely loved this novel, Lex writes in such a fantastic way that it really blends both the regency aspect and modern day humour in one

I did like this one but I didn't *love* it. I thought the Regency Mean Girls vibe was fun and a great twist on a genre which I honestly haven't read much of (historical romances). I sometimes found Georgiana a bit hard to root for, but I loveddd Thomas.

This was a really fun plot and it was great to be whisked away to a Bridgerton-esque world. Really enjoyed this one.

A brilliant book. The story is witty, PAINFULLY relatable in current times and also a brilliant regency tale. Super difficult to put down and I missed being around the characters as soon as the story ended.

A darker version of Bridgerton - sold!
I loved the humour and how, even though this is an historical novel, it resounded with modern day themes. Brilliantly written characters, and well handled moments that could have been much darker.

Marketed as Gossip Girl meets Jane Austen, Lex Croucher’s debut novel certainly is that and more! Highly entertaining, it tells of Georgiana, who has recently moved in with her aunt and uncle, and she is bored. Until Frances appears, like dramatic whirlwind, and pulls Georgiana into her fun-filled frenzy of unchaperoned parties, indecent conversations and cocktails of drinks and drugs.

Georgiana was a perfectly flawed protagonist; she was sweet-natured but also desperate to be liked and to have adventure, and this made her naïve and cruel to others, just to impress Frances. I spent a lot of the book trying to shake Georgiana out of her self-destructive behaviour! Pulled into Frances’s friendship group with the lure of drama and booze-soaked fun, Georgiana nearly loses herself in the thick of all the excitement and attention.

Croucher does an excellent job of blending the timeless troubles of young adults finding themselves and testing boundaries, with the Georgian backdrop of societal expectations. Nothing feels forced or modernised, or indeed modern conversation pushed into historical settings, it all felt very realistic and almost classical. The issues of friendship and family are timeless, and the lengths Georgiana goes to, to change and almost lose herself, in order to impress people, as well as peeling back the shiny façade of popularity, is something we recognise from today.

I was so excited for this book and I wasn’t disappointed at all, it was so engaging and so much fun, I loved the Austen references so much , a fun and unique book that is fast paced and addictive reading

This is Regency Mean Girls. There's scandalous behaviour, outrageous parties and drama, drama, drama.
There's a lot of drinking, drugs and debauchery too. The characters are unruly, spiteful and wholly unlikeable - but that's definitely the point.

The romance that is woven throughout is sweet and I'd have liked to have seen more of it because those moments had real potential. I loved the exchange of letters between the love interests. They were full of wit, charm and personality.

I have heard so many good things about Reputation and it definitely didn't disappoint!

Georgiana Ellers is a young women whose parents have just decided they don't want to have a child in their lives so have shipped her off to live with her aunt and uncle. At first she is bored and lonely but in comes Frances Campbell. Frances is a wealthy socialite who introduces Georgiana to the world of upper class people and parties and she cannot believe her luck. But that luck soon turns sour when she realises that the people of that world aren't who she thought they were and that her reputation is the one at stake.

It was just a lovely, entertaining read that had me laughing and crying within the same chapter. Thomas Hawksley's father was by far my favourite person in the whole book. Just a lovely old man who loves romance novels - what could be better?

This book was a breath of fresh Regency air! Perfect for Bridgerton fans, it's a fun romp through Regency England about friendship, love and pushing the boundaries of nineteenth century England. The book is exquisitely researched and I loved Lex Croucher's writing style. I can't want to see what they write next!

This book is fabulous and I can’t believe it’s Lex Crouchers debut! This really is bridgerton meets gossip girl so I would definitely recommend it to all fans of bridgerton! The writing flows really well, the plot is fantastic and I laughed out loud several times. I was fully absorbed into the time period and I can’t wait for another book to follow these fantastic ladies!

A fun and quirky novel. that was well paced, funny and packed full of interesting characters.

Reputation is essentially Mean Girls meets Pride and Prejudice with a big sprinkling of Bridgerton and is such FUN to read. A healthy dose of romance, sassy female leads. It has it all and is one of the best things I've read in a long time.

Loved this. It’s like the quirky love child of Bridgerton and Pride and Prejudice. Excellent characters, refreshingly diverse and unexpectedly funny — I’m familiar with the authors online presence and wasn’t sure if her trademark humour would work in a regency setting but she definitely pulled it off.

A fun and well paced read with interesting and engaging characters.

I liked the writing, it was easy to get into and I liked the humour too. Perfect mix of everything here and it was an enjoyable read all round.

Different to what I would usually read but I really liked it.

I found it a struggle to read and did not enjoy trying to force myself to read this book.
