I don’t mind a step-sibling story. They’re not blood related and, in this case, they weren’t really raised together so it doesn’t bother me.
With that in mind, I tried not to be bothered by the 10 year difference in age between Cassie and Carl. It was a little strange to me that we were introduced to the pair when Cassie was only 11. It sort of added a weirdness to it, knowing they would get together in 10 years but seeing an interaction when she was 11 and he was 21.
Cassie is super intelligent so her 21 years made her seem older to me. The age gap just sort of melted away.
Cassie and Carl did seem a little wishy-washy throughout the story. I don’t know how many times they asked each other what they wanted out of the relationship and it seemed like they declared and then forgot their feelings toward each numerous times. It was a bit like beating a dead horse. In that way, the story could have been way shorter. I just sort of rolled my eyes and thought “didn’t we already establish this?”
This is why I gave it 4 stars. The premise was good and I didn’t get bored with the story. There could have just been less back-and-forth. I think if the author was trying to convey Cassie’s relationship immaturity and Carl’s new thoughts on commitment, she could have gone about it a little differently.

Honestly I don’t have an interest in reading this book anymore and I want to be more selective with what I request. I started reading the first couple pages and it was very cringe

Complementary copy given for my honest review and opinion. I was not a fan of this book. I did not enjoy the characters nor the storyline. I will read more from this author before making a determination of her style.

Cassie and Carl are step-siblings. However, they didn't grow up together and only saw each other once or twice a year. I started this book not knowing how I would feel about their relationship, but I very quickly started routing for them. I really enjoyed the tension and how their relationship progressed from annoyance to undeniable chemistry.

Truly this felt like a book written by a man, under a female pseudonym. I could not finish this book and felt gross reading it. As an avid reader of romance and DARK romance, I'm hard to shake. This book was poorly written, it switched timelines willy Milly, and was grossly pedophilic and touches of grooming. I could not finish this I was so disturbed.

I absolutely adored this book.
It was just the right amount of heartbroken, angst, sexy times and fun.
I like the dynamics between the characters and how it is A tiny bit of a twist compared to the typical stepbrother plot lines.
I love how the main character is prescribed and how she isn’t just the typical virgin who needs a man for everything. she can stand up for herself and is concerned about her education and sprouts fanny facts all the time so I really like her.

The only thing is maybe that the end is a bit sudden and all of the troubles they had before we are fixed very easily and forgotten.

The book is an emotional up-and-down and ends in a HEA.
I really enjoyed reading it and had so much fun laughing with the characters.

Well, this was a pretty dirty one by my standards - gave me certain glimpses of VC Andrews "Flowers in the Attic".
If you are looking for illicit lust - this is the story for you! It was pretty well written, actually, and I finished it quickly.

Cassie is a highly intelligent young woman… Too much so for her own good! And she is as daunting as she is intriguing. Carl, the son of his father's second wife, would hardly say otherwise!

Carl is the exact opposite of his steady father. He is a player and a slayer. Afraid of nothing and no one. Except for Cassie when she asks him to introduce her to the pleasures of the flesh.

And when the situation gets out of control, it is too late to turn back, and the two lovers find themselves ensnared in forbidden passion. Forbidden by everyone: society, their parents, their friends.

But how to resist the desire that consumes them?

I enjoyed this story, it was well written, had good narrative and good pacing and the characters were well developed and relatable. I read this quickly and would definitely recommend it

I received a review copy from Netgalley. Thank you!

I really enjoyed this. I liked the characters and setting. I like that this didn't rush into the relationship/sex parts.

I haven't read anything like this before. I am glad that I started with this one. This kept me reading till early into the morning. I liked that the relationship/us getting to know who the characters were was well developed. I don't like the romance to be rushed in a book, because then it's less believable.

I like that the main girl is super smart and knows lots of statistics. It was fascinating and I think made the book better.

I really enjoyed this and am so thankful for being able to read this in exchange for an honest review. Thank you again to Netgalley and to the publishers.

Romance... kind of? Not my cup of tea. Virgin Cassie falls into a disturbing relationship with her step-brother Carl, who is, frankly, kind of an asshole. The attraction was not understandable to me, and the whole I've know you since you were a little girl, now let's have sex is just a little creepy. I didn't find the characters likeable or the story compelling.

I had access to a free copy of #MyStepbrotherASexualRevelation via #NetGalley

Hot hot hot!! Enjoyed the story and all the information about eidetic memory and scientific facts. Cassie and Carl were relatable and fun to be around!

This book wasn’t good at all, I just found nothing appealing, the characters weren’t likeable or interesting , the story just couldn’t keep me interested and just seemed implausible (hating each other for years and then suddenly agreeing on everything) not for me at all

Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for a free copy for an honest opinion

Thanks to Netgalley for the digital ARC for my honest review!

I think readers who are into step-siblings tropes may like this one. But also I feel like it's a bit different from other stepsister/stepbrother romance novels by American authors I've read before. Maybe there's a cultural difference or translation problem. For people who love steam, it's not steamy enough. For people who want better plots and character development, it's not enough either.

Sorry about this one. It's not my cup of tea.

Was quite excited to read this but unfortunately could not get into it, gave up about half way through it just was not for me. Im not sure if the writing style or the translation is what made it so terrible

I LOVED this book so much! It was Intense, Sexy and Torrid…
I really liked Cassie her scientific side reminds me a little bit Temperance Brennan in the TV show called Bones, she has no filter, and just say what she thinks, and I loved that!! Carl is so sexy… I want a seduction teacher like him!!! Lol. The seduction game is really good!!! And good is not enough to describe it. The path of the seduction was really what I like was not too fast and not too slow. The novel is well written, I will definitely follow this romance author.
Thank you for this free novel.

To be entirely transparent, I did not finish this book. I made it to approximately halfway through before it became too painful to continue. I'm not sure who this book was for exactly. If it's the steamy erotic/romantic story crowd, well sex doesn't happen until halfway through. Also, the descriptions of the sexual tension is not good. Perhaps this works better in the original French. The translation itself was something I wanted to critique. I genuinely cannot tell if the problem is bad writing or poor translation. Either way, this book is not enjoyable to read.

The main characters are not interesting or enjoyable people really. Cassie apparently loves trivia to the point of it making her socially inept, except there are multiple trivia points that she gets wrong. Also her love of big words is so painfully childish and only serves to obscure the meaning. No one reading it thinks this makes her appear smarter.

Lastly, there are some troubling elements at play in this book. First up, there is homophobia. The two main characters discuss a side character's ex-girlfriend having left him for another woman. Carl, the titular stepbrother, makes some crude homophobic remarks about how the side character isn't a real man if he couldn't keep his ex-girlfriend and how Cassie would be offended if her boyfriend left her because he "preferred another man's anus to her vagina". That's not how human sexuality works and it was upsetting to read. Furthermore, Carl comes off as very possessive and borderline stalks Cassie. This is played off because they are into each other, but he's a 31 year old famous man and she is a newly 21 year old woman trying to figure her life out.

I know the point of reading this book is supposed to be for the smut elements, but it really failed to deliver on those, so I had no choice to focus on the plot and characters...and that definitely cannot make up for the problematic parts of this book. Honestly, I don't think I'd recommend this book to anyone. Even someone who likes reading bad books may be disappointed because this isn't enjoyably bad, it's tedious.

I really struggled to get into that book. Plot and characters are really important in everything that k read and either here was very good. Perhaps something was lost in translation?
