If you want to try your hand at murals in your home, buy this book.

My husband is a talented decorative finish artisan and painter, so I have been privileged to see a lot of great "wall work" over the years. In addition, I have picked up a paint brush myself a time or two, I was impressed by this book. This covers one thing -- graphic wall murals -- and it does it well. The authors give you a large number of different mural projects to try, you are going to find one you like. The instructions are clear and complete. I believe the results will be great.

This is an enjoyable book to read, with bright, cheerful pictures and layout. My only quibble was formatting issues with Kindle, but that is the case with almost anything with a lot of pictures, and unlike other similar books I have tried to read on Kindle, the instructions are still understandable. Still, I would recommend getting a nondigital version of this, if you are painting and want to refer to the instructions, I don't think you are going to want to grab your phone/Kindle.

Great job!

I am purchasing my first home this summer and need ideas of ways to make it my own. How you choose to decorate your walls shows a lot about your personality, so no pressure! "Wonder Walls: How to Transform Your Space with Colorful Geometrics, Graphic Lettering, and Other Fabulous Paint Techniques" does exactly what it promises. Thanks to Roxy and Phoebe's examples, I have learned simple ways to dress up my walls to make them pop! The majority of the mural examples are categorized as "easy" or "medium," which makes me feel comfortable. Included are instructions for twenty-two murals and four "off the wall projects."
I was surprised to find not just walls being painted but also mailboxes and furniture! "Wonder Walls" screams creativity and happy vibes with bright colors; I found myself scrolling through the pages to get the next idea to keep the high going. While some of the ideas weren't my personal style, I loved the colors and could feel the creativity oozing through the pages. "Wonder Walls" is a book for any skill level since it begins with the basics of painting, such as what kind of brush to use, what colors look good together, etc. Not only is this a book of creative ideas for your empty wall spaces, but it also helps keep a catchy song in my head by the same name. "Wonder Walls" is a definite recommendation from this reviewer if you are facing a creativity block or open to new ways of expressing yourself in your home.

This is a helpful, fun book to show you how to paint murals and designs on your walls. It features a couple of dozen step-by-step projects and also lots of general advice. Most of the projects weren't really my aesthetic but it was still quite helpful. I would have loved more inspiration photos but for basics on how to do murals and patterns it's a great resource.

I read a temporary digital ARC of this book for review.

So many amazing ideas in this book! I had some plans for a mural on my wall but I shifted after getting to read this book. I went with something more geometric that was actually (probably) easier than my original plan with a great visual impact that feels professional yet fun!

Wonder Walls is a cool tutorial and style guide with lots of punchy graphics and painting ideas by Roxy Prima & Phoebe Cornog. Due out 9th Nov 2021 from Storey, it's 224 pages and will be available in paperback and ebook formats.

I adore paint. It's (relatively) inexpensive, it can make a huge (or subtle) statement. Paint can change an entire look and pull a room together with judicious use. If the look isn't as pleasing as expected, it's easy to paint over or start again. This is a book of really *inspired* and easy to utilize designs for nearly every taste. The authors have an accessible and friendly encouraging style of writing and the tutorials are clearly written and easy to follow.

The book's introductory chapters cover design, tools, supplies, and transferring ideas from readers' heads to their working surfaces. The first tutorial chapter is very thorough and goes through the entire process step-by-step. It's clearly and understandably written and covers prepping, priming (or not), painting, different surfaces, and more. There's also a short photo instruction on troubleshooting non-traditional areas and how painting can maximize the potential of dark galley kitchens, small bedrooms, and bathrooms without windows.

The following chapters contain the complete tutorials. Each tutorial contains lots of color photos, a sidebar with info on skill level, tools and supplies, and average costs involved. All of the steps are delineated and the painting instructions are numbered sequentially and are easy to follow. Most of the projects are on statement walls, but not all. The final tutorials are for non-wall items including a post-box, painted door mat, bentwood chairs, and a breakfast tray.

Tutorial measurements are given in American standard; there's a metric conversion chart included in the back of the book. There will be links to online resources for templates from the authors in the final release version of the book, they're not included in the review copy of the book. There will also be an index.

Five stars. This is a very well presented, graphically appealing book and it would make a superlative choice for library acquisition, maker's groups, youth mural projects, and the home library.

Disclosure: I received an ARC at no cost from the author/publisher for review purposes.

Who better to learn how to paint murals from than two ladies who have transformed more than 250 walls and do them for a living!

I liked some of the designs in the book and some not as much, but they have all made me look at the walls in my condo with new eyes. Oh, the possibilities! I enjoyed looking at the before and after photographs, and the step by step instructions and other information seem easy enough to follow. Of course we may need some creativity to adapt the designs as all our walls will be somewhat different in terms of size and so on.

A nice gift for someone who is artistic and have just moved to a new home perhaps. Inspiring book.

Wonder Walls is a book full of creativity. For those of us who are beginners, there is plenty of great information on paint types, tools and techniques. There was also a great section on color theory that anyone interested in design would find useful. There are a number of projects included, each with ample step-by-step instruction. It is important to note, however, that this book is definitely geared toward those with bold taste. I would have liked to see more options for those who prefer neutrals or quieter patterns. Had there been better balance, I think this book would appeal to a much larger audience.
