A gripping thriller that had me hooked from the first page right up to the very end. Well worth a read.

Oh this was really good! We hear from Suzie's POV, she owns the downstairs flat and obviously has some trauma of her own going on, Suzie lives almost like a hermit and has plenty of time to listen to the goings on of her neighbours. The upstairs flat is rented and Suzie is used to short term tenants living there. The latest tenant is Emily who is a typical pain in the neck noisy neighbour. Suddenly, things go quiet upstairs and Suzie can't help but get involved in discovering why.
In a sea of psychological thrillers which are becoming increasingly formulaic, this one really is that bit more original. I do like a good domestic noir and this one certainly fits the bill.

An enjoyable thriller, very gripping and great emotional depth to the characters. Would definitely recommend.

I really liked this book although the matter could be depressing. 2 women live in a shared flat and the downstairs neighbor, Suzie becomes a bit obsessed with her upstairs neighbor. Loneliness drives her obsession and she winds up knee deep in an investigation of her neighbors whereabouts. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and felt it was quick paced and covered a lot of storyline.

A missing young woman may sound like the start of many thrillers but this one will keep your heart racing as you read. Emily lives upstairs: she’s loud on the phone, listening to music, partying with her friends – which isn’t a lot of fun for her downstairs neighbour who yearns for a quiet life with no fuss. Emily seems to enjoy life, and leaves a trail of items by which to remember her: leftovers in the food waste bin or receipts in the communal hallway. But when there’s no sound from her flat and the smell of food drags her neighbour upstairs to investigate, it seems that Emily is gone. Can her neighbour, who becomes increasingly involved in Emily’s life, track down what’s really happened and decipher who’s responsible? I enjoyed this as the neighbour has her own battles to deal with, and there’s a sense of moving on and making decisions within the novel. Though at one point, you do wonder if everyone could have played a part in Emily’s disappearance. Very clever.

Meet Suzie who lives in London and seems to be a loner and a bit quirky. This by the way got me from the beginning! Her neighbour loud upstairs Emily seems to be getting on her nerves all of the time.
But as you read on you find that both women have a strong story to tell which reveals bit by bit.
I do not want to give away too much but for me this was the right book at the right time! It just shows that every single person comes with their baggage.

Suzie, the quiet, sad, drunken girl downstairs and Emily, the happy, loud, party girl upstairs. I didn't expect much from this mystery novem when I started. Everything seems to progress so slowly in the beginning and then the rush at the end to figure out what happened to her upstairs neighbor. Emily disappears from her apartment with no trace. The whole plot was absolutely very interesting and I am a sucker for horror and mystery novels.

I can't say I expected the ending of what actually happened to Emily (won't include any spoilers!) but I was also a bit disappointed. I feel like there wasn't a full reasoning or motive behind why everything happened. With Suzie living there for so long and not realizing anything was happening with the other upstairs neighbors coming and going during that time is a bit odd. There was no explanation into the other tenants either and I feel like that could have been included to further the story line behind the killer. At times, I felt like I couldn't connect with Suzie's character because it all felt so generic and monotonous. Throughout the novel, she went back and forth between staying and leaving her home in London, which got a bit dull. The emotion behind the characters just wasn't there, however, I thought it was interesting to see her backstory with her husband. Again, I feel like that could have been elaborated on more as well. Overall, I would recommend this book if you like more slow burning mystery novels!

Suzie Arlington lives alone in a ground floor flat in London. She is still grieving over the death of her partner. So, when Emily decides to move upstairs above her. She wants to find out all about her new neighbour. But doing that, also has its downside when Emily is not the quietest of neighbours. She can hear footsteps of her walking around the flat and hear when she has a few friends over and intimate moments when she has a partner over. The noise is so loud that Suzie complains to the council about the noise that she makes.
So, when one day, Suzie goes upstairs to talk to her neighbour and complain. She finds her door open and her neighbour Emily missing. Suzie has a change of heart and decides to find out where her neighbour has gone, even helping the Police in their enquires when the parents of Emily report her missing.
I have mixed feelings about this book. This was such a slow burn of a book and sorry to say very flat. I struggled for this to keep my attention. I really don’t know what the fuss the lead character in this book was making and then the reason why she changed her mind so quickly. I’m sorry to say but if a book could win award for the best anti-climax of the year for an ending it would be this one. 2 stars from me.

This is the story of 2 women Suzie and Emily each with a story to tell. This is a well written thriller with a twist. The sadness and devastation of each main character jumps off the page . Read this book you will not be disappointed . 5 stars

I really enjoyed this book, it was gripping from the start and kept me guessing until the very end. Would definitely recommend.

This book was a page turner from beginning to end. We have all had that neighbor that is just obnoxiously loud. But have we all asked them to stop and they just don’t? And then maybe we see something we shouldn’t see when we go over - like maybe their life is in danger? So we call the police to place a noise complaint. And that is the last time we see the neighbor. They have disappeared. What do you do? Highly recommend. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Georgina Lees dots a fabulous job of bringing you into her world.

I enjoyed this had a good twist little late introducing the Emily side story but overall a good read

A lonely woman, obsessed with her neighbor upstairs and the noise she makes, gets involved in her disappearance. this book revealed the story in layers, the mystery of the main character, who had she lost and what was her role in that disappearance. Who was the woman upstairs, we get her story from the main character and then from her herself. It was well written, very engaging, it fell down a little with the last part of it. It was a 4.5 for me

This read was good and I enjoyed it. It wasn’t one of my favorites but I did keep reading.

The story may have started slow but it surely picked up with the right twists in the end. I liked how the MC made decisions and sure will recommend this to my friends and colleagues.

I am still at a loss for words. I have been chasing that Gone Girl high for so long when I read thrillers, and this one finally hit the mark. It completely nailed the isolation get agoraphobia of modern urban living. Now I am suspicious of everyone in my neighborhood because the book stuck with me that much!

Brilliant book well written, heartbreaking at times when suzie was remembering back. And then Emily’s POV was really good too. I felt so sorry for her after her story. It was an amazing ending I never even thought of Mike to be honest. I was thinking Darren. So I was stunned at the end. Brilliant storyline and the characters where amazing too. Definitely worth 5 stars.
