This book had me hooked from the very first page. It took me on a rollercoaster of emotions with its theme that plays on many people’s worst fear - their child being kidnapped. The story is full of twists and turns that curve-balled me every time I thought I’d figured it out! A truly great read

Wow. Just - wow! This is me of the most amazing thrillers I have read in years!
You know when you read a thriller you are looking for scraps of information to help you work it out? well this one thwarted me totally, I didnt get any of it, and twists just keep on coming, right up to the last paragraph!
Brilliantly written, completely gripping and so so clever, exceptional thriller!

After recently reading a couple of thrillers about child abduction I thought how is this one going to shape up against them. However I loved it. From page one I was drawn into a mother’s worse nightmare. All Her Fault’ pulls at the heart strings, full of twists and heartbreak. Andrea Mara perfectly captures a mother’s worst fear. Clear your schedule- you won’t be able to put this down! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ To the author from me. Fantastic read!

I loved this thriller set in Dublin. It's a compelling read with lots of twists and turns. Marissa turns up to pick her son Milo up from a play date but he's not there, nor is the mother she recognises. It's every mother's nightmare. Where is Milo? The book is well plotted with bags and tension and twists I didn't see coming. A great read.

This is my first novel by Andrea Marr and I will certainly read more.
The focus was an abduction of a child from school by a local nanny with no apparent motive and the investigation into his whereabouts.

I enjoyed the way the story unfolded, the pace, the character development and the attention to detail. I certainly didn't see the way the story was heading, but that was possibly because what had started as a feasible storyline became very convoluted and lost it's reality for me. That said I enjoyed the author's style and how she developed the story.

‘When the worst happens, there’s always someone to blame’.

I am a huge fan of Andrea Mara’s books. Every novel has presented strong characters, plots and clever twists and turns, making it so difficult to put the books down. ‘All Her Fault’ is her 4th book and after reading this ARC, I can categorically say that it is her best yet!

Marissa Irvine arrives to collect her four-year old son, Milo, from a play date. But when the door opens, the woman living there doesn’t know what she’s talking about. She doesn’t have a young son and doesn’t know where Milo is. It’s a mother’s worse nightmare- where is her son? Who has taken him?

As the mother of a little boy of the same age who’s about to start school just like Milo, this book really hit home. It plays to all the fears that we have when we leave our children with others. The story follows the immediate aftermath of Milo’s disappearance from the perspective of his mother, Jenny (whose child Milo was supposed to have a play date with) and Irene (I won’t spoil who she is for you but needless to say she is a detestable character!). I love how Mara has created an interwoven story of these three women and seamlessly moves from one to another to create a fast-paced read. It was so difficult to put this book down and all of the other characters that Mara introduces in the book are dynamic, interesting in their own right and every one of them are integral to the story. The way Mara discusses how people react to a child’s kidnapping and blame the parents (usually the mother in particular) on social media was powerful (and recalls the way the Madeline McCann story has been treated by the press and on social media). The final chapters of the book will leave you in absolute shock. I’m still recovering from the bombshells that Mara dropped in these chapters and how the story ends.

‘All Her Fault’ pulls at the heart strings, full of twists and heartbreak. Mara perfectly captures a mother’s worst nightmare. Clear your schedule- you won’t be able to put this down!

Marrisa's son Milo is on a playmate with a child from his class from schol!. When she arrives at the address she's been given it isn't Jenny- the mum she,was expecting -standing at the door Milo isn't here Esther the woman whi s house it is had never heard of seen them before!!! Has Marrissa got it wrong, no this was the address she was sent on text by Jenny , but when she speaks to Jenny she's away for work and Jacob her son is on a playmate with another child. How could Marrissa get it so wrong and where is Milo she phones everyone she can think of but no one has seen him. The twists and turns in this book keep coming but the ending is so unexpected it's unnerving. Loved this book but makes you think about how well you know people to trust them with your child.

Many thanks Net galley for letting me read this book I think it would be well adapted for a film!!

ALL HER FAULT - ANDREA MARA: BOOKWORMS REVIEW 📰

Andrea has done it again. I loved this book. A great story with a cracking twist at the end, that I never in a million years would've seen coming.
When Marissa goes to an address to collect her son from a very new playdate, not only is her son not there but the woman who lives there has no clue who she is or how she got her address. Panicked Marissa soon discovers that her 4 year old son Milo has been taken. But by whom and why?
And so ensues a chilling and dramatic week of searching, quizzing, and shocking revelations that will have you glued to the pages.
I'm only sorry I'm finished it!
Very enjoyable.

I really enjoyed the first half of this book. It really captured my attention and had great pace. The second half was a bit disappointing though. It felt unnecessarily drawn-out, complicated and implausible. The premise is good and the characters are well drawn, however. An interesting read, but not the best.

This is the story of a nightmare scenario that every mother of a young child can relate to - going to pick up their child from a play date only to find that the other family don’t live where you were told they did, that the play date did not take place and that somebody totally different picked up the child from school that day. The distress that follows, the recriminations against those who are seen as responsible for unleashing this situation and the judgement of the school gate clique are well crafted and highly relatable. As the story unfolds, the reader becomes detective and starts suspecting everyone and when we arrive at its conclusion, it is clear that nothing will ever be the same again for those involved. The twist and reveal at the end were not completely convincing and raised a whole lot of other questions but even if the destination didn’t completely satisfy me, I thoroughly enjoyed the journey to get there. Thanks to Andrea Mara, Random House and NetGalley for a review copy in exchange for an honest review.

This has a most apt title as the entire novel is subtly focussed on the consideration of the true meaning of "all her fault".
This is a multiple character viewpoint novel filled with twists and turns which take readers away on a circuitous path to the reveal. Well written and satisfying all the way through to the very last word.

Fabulous page turner thriller that leaves you guessing right to the end. Brilliant believable characters that tell the story of a little boy stolen from his family. Great read

Another triumph of a novel from Andrea Mara, who I was already a fan of from her previous novels but has outdone herself this time. When Marissa arrives at the house where her son is having a playdate to collect him, to be told not only that her son isn't there but that the person who lives in the house isn't the parent she was meant to have left him with, panic breaks out. It's every parent's worst nightmare and the tension and anxiety is captured perfectly in Mara's writing. The twists and turns keep coming until the very end - I couldn't put it down. If you're a fan of domestic noir, you NEED this book.

A brilliant read, in fact it's up there with the best. I found it hard to put down, my emotions running wild with anticipation. I was with them every step of the way in their search to find their missing child. The book is so well written, the story brought to life on every page. Highly recommend and I will certainly look out for this author in the future.

Thanks to Netgalley and Random House UK for providing this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

When Marissa goes to pick up her son, Milo, from a play date with a new student at the school, she winds up at an address where the woman knows nothing of the play date and doesn't have her son. They quickly start to realize Milo has been kidnapped, but why, and by whom?

This was an unexpectedly good read. I normally don't like child kidnapping stories, because I am not a fan of kids, and they are major characters in the book and because they usually spend too much time on the kidnapped person being trapped in a room, which is boring. This book went in a different direction and suffered none of those problems. This was all about the investigation and uncovering clues. I suspected everyone at some point because there was something a little off about most of the characters. We learn who the kidnapper is fairly early on, but you know there is much more to the story. Who is this person working with and why? The end was unexpected and satisfying because the why they did it is usually more important than who did it. Great book. Will read more from this author.

What a cracking read. I was hooked from the first page, every parents worst nightmare when they realise their child has been snatched. You could almost feel the panic and desperation coming off Marissa in waves. A well written story that kept me guessing right until the last page, plenty of twists and turns in between. I highly recommend this book and will look to read more by this author.

At first I wasn't sure I was going to continue with this book. It almost felt unreadable and unlikely. however, I persevered and I am glad I did. Although the story line of a child going missing tugs at any one's heart strings the plot that is divulged very slowly throughout the book is quite measured. All the time it feels just believable and it drew me in and made me think the plot was possible..

It also highlighted very clearly how being.a high achieving, successful women in the workplace is looked down upon as a mother.. Marissa's mother in law constantly critiscised her for following her career despite the fact that she was the main financial provider. She constantly felt judged.Marissa had a good relatiionship with her son and worked extremely hard to spend as much time with him as possible.

When her son Milo is abudcted the sheer pain and grief is tangible. The author weaves a complex web of events which at times can be difficult to comprehend. All the time I was wondering what the motive was. It certainly had me on tenterhooks. The ending is quite surreal but somehow believable.

For a first novel I felt it had promise.

I thought this was an excellent read. From the very first page we're thrown immediately into the panic and horror of being unable to locate a child, and it doesn't slow down from there. The book kept me guessing throughout and was full of twists and turns that were genuinely surprising, without ever feeling random or implausible. When one reads a lot of this genre it can start to become predicable but that wasn't the case with 'All Her Fault', which was a genuinely riveting read. Highly recommended.

It's very rare to pick up a book and feel your heart racing within the first few pages. Excellent plot, exceptionally well planned and a great pace that really does keep you guessing and engrossed. As a parent, this book hits you with a punch that makes you question if you always check and double check where your children are going and who they are with. As a parent who has entered the school playground, you smile at the recognition of the characters, the discussions and the self doubt, even the most confident amongst us will feel. "All Her Fault" is a book that you do not want to put down, but really do not want it to end. Thank you NetGalley, thank you Andrea Mara - I can not wait for others to share this story and welcome recommending it to my friends.
