Wow!! What a story! As a parent, this tugged at my heartstrings from the very beginning however it then went on to absolutely suck me into the twists and turns of the story. Second guessing most characters as to who is involved and then some real shockers to come!!

Marissa has just begun to try making friends with some of the school parents after her son Milo starts school. She met and liked Jenny at a school social so was delighted to set up a playdate with her son. However, when she goes to pick Milo up, the address is not Jenny's house, and Milo isn't there. She tries to tell herself that it is some innocent mix up but, as time passes she realises it isn't. There follows a twisty tale of what must be every parents nightmare. A good story with a sting in the tale.

Twisty,, pacy thriller. The resolution was so out there it didn't quite ring true - there was something you would never have had a whiff at guessing so a bit Agatha Christie (the victim had wronged the butler's cousin's wife's ex-best friend by leaving them at the altar in 1903... type scenario). But nonetheless I enjoyed the ride and would recommend it.

This was really well done and really clever - absolutely worth reading right to the very end for a marvellous twist which was perfect! I thought the various twists and turns were excellent and certainly hadn't worked out the story. Very enjoyable, thank you.

Thank you NetGalley for this advanced copy. The plot drew me in right away, although I have read a couple books with similar plots lately. The suspense was good. I did find myself skimming parts that I felt were too long. The ending tied together nicely but I did find once I found out what happened, I stopped reading before the end.

A strong, twisty-turny read with some excellently developed characters. Lost its way for me towards the end when the tension should have ramped up, but ended on a high note. A recommended read for fans of the genre.

Wow what a brilliant book loved it from the very first chapter it was so gripping didn’t want to put it down. Its about a couple Marissa and Philip who have a little boy called Milo who goes missing suspected kidnapping as his parents are rich and live in a large house, Milo was invited to a play date one Friday night the story starts from there it was so good so many twists and turns and what a shock at the end I would never have guessed that in a million years it’s the first book I’ve read of this author can’t wait to read the other books.

Thank you so much to Netgalley and the publisher for an early copy.

My thanks to NetGalley and publisher Random House UK, Transworld Publishers, for the ARC.

I thoroughly enjoyed this roller-coaster of a thriller. Really good writing and dialogue in which twists and revelations abound. I certainly didn't see THAT ending coming!!

Set around an affluent Dublin suburb; Marissa and Peter Irvine, with 4yr-old Milo, live in the largest house - they are wealthy with Peter dealing in financial investments and Marissa being a solicitor. Their nanny, Anna had planned a few days off and Marissa had received a text from Jenny, Jacob's mother from school, inviting Milo for a playdate that Friday. Except, when Marissa goes to the address given in the text, Milo isn't there, and the owner, Esther, is at a loss to understand. As Marissa frantically calls everyone it transpires that the school thought their nanny Anna had picked up Milo that day - only she hadn't.
Jenny is a high-flying executive, regularly working late and going abroad for conferences. Her husband Richie appears jealous of her promotion and he, together with his mother, regularly point out that Jenny is never at home for Jacob. Their nanny is called Carrie - but Carrie has also disappeared and realisations dawn. Jenny blames herself.
No ransom demands are made - where is Milo? Why would Carrie have taken him?

Irene, Carrie's mother, hasn't seen her wayward daughter for 9 years, but she's more than ready to cash-in on any newspaper revelations, if she can, and dreams of TV interviews and fame.

This is a complex plot as characters the reader thinks of as rather on the periphery of the search for Milo take more prominence as a web of secrets and lies gradually disentangles.

Absolutely riveting stuff!

This is the first book I have read by this author and it doesn’t disappoint.

A playdate that isn't. A missing child. Two desperate parents. When 4 year old Milo goes missing, his parents Marissa and Peter are beside themselves. With no ransom demanded, can they discover who has taken their precious son and why?

A great twisty tale with one shocking revelation after another which makes for a gripping read.

When Marissa goes to pick her son Milo up from a playdate, she is shocked to discover he is not at the house and in fact the address is not that of her friend but a stranger... Someone has set the whole thing up and her son is missing. Rumours start about who could be responsible and soon the police have their prime suspect. As the search for Milo continues and Marissa lives her worst nightmare, it soon becomes clear that many people are hiding secrets...

Wow, I really loved this book. The plot was tense and exciting and all the characters interesting and in some cases suspicious, keeping you guessing who could have done what. The twists and turns were absolutely shocking and the ending was brilliant. Also liked how it was set in Ireland. Really recommend this book!

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for an advance copy of the book in return for my honest feedback.

✨Big thank you to @netgally and Random House UK, Transworld Publishers and the author @andreamaraauthor for gifting me an ARC of this wonderful thriller.
✨This story starts with Marissa, mum to Milo collecting him from a playdate in his friend Jacobs house. She rings the bell and an elderly lady answers who has no idea who Milo or Jacob are. She frantically double checks the address on the text message from her friend Jenny and the calls her, which Jenny explains that she never set up a playdate for Milo and Jacob. So where is Jacob?
✨This is one of the best thriller books I have read this year, it is fast paced, has twists and turns and everything wraps up in the end. The author thought up the characters really well and throughout the story had me questioning each one.
✨I thought I had it figured out, only to be shocked and then to find out the whole truth I was totally blown away, I was not expecting it in the least. Her writing is exceptional, keeping the reader guessing and engaged. I did read this one quick, only because the build up was so good and it did not disappoint in the end.

My rating ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐/5 - full 5 star review.
This book is expected to be published on July 22, 2021 and I would really recommend pre ordering now as I have a feeling it will be a great seller.

What a brilliant book! I absolutely loved it, I read this book in one sitting because I could not put it down, I raced through it because I was hooked from the very first page. The storyline had great characters that I connected fully with and the plot had so many twists and turns that I was kept guessing. Five stars from me!

Many thanks to netgalley and Andrea Mara fir the advanced copy of this book. I agreed to give my unbiased opinion voluntarily.

This book has so many twists that it is hard to keep up. It’s a terrific plot line and the characters are compelling, The outcome is incredible and I found myself reflecting back on the book as a whole to see what clues I may have missed. The only criticism I have is that everything got wrapped up very quickly and tidily at the end - all a bit too convenient after so much angst.

I loved this book! There aren't many books that I literally can't put down and this was one of them - the characters are solid, realistic and (mostly) likeable, the plot has numerous twists and turns that you don't see coming - including the odd red herring - and the ending is very satisfying! The writing perfectly conveys the edge-of-your-seat tension of the subject matter and you really feel for the mum of the missing child. A brilliant read, highly recommended!

This was a great read. I have never read anything by this author and it is a departure from my normal books but I am so glad I chose to read it.

As a mother myself my heart dropped when Milo’s mum arrived to pick up Milo and he was nowhere to be seen. I thought her emotional involvement was written incredibly well. There were so many twists in this book- just as I thought I knew who was involved and why there was as twist away from that thought.

I didn’t LOVE the very very end but I understood why it was done and I didn’t hate it either so the rest of the book being so good drowned that out!

Wow, talk about weaving tangled webs. This book is a positive labyrinth of twists. It seems as if there is a new shock on every page, especially in the last quarter of the book. It is an absolutely fantastic story and possibly the best book I've read in the last few years. Give it a read, you won't be disappointed.

My first book I've read by Andrea Mara and it does not disappoint. Mum Marissa goes to pick up her son Milo from his playdate and finds on arrival at the address given everything is a lie. The parents of the playdate do not live there and deny arranging a playdate. So Milo is missing. A well told story with good characters and the ending will shock you. A must read.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Random House UK, Transworld Publishers for offering this ACR to me in exchange my honest review.

Definitely Andrea's books are compelling and intriguing with great story and characters. Fast and tight paced with ingenious twists. I really had an enjoyable time at reading it. It's undoubtedly a best choice for the fans of thriller. I am gripped from the beginning and it kept me till the end. There were many original twists an turns as well as suspicions along the way. You may be shocked and thrilled at the final revelation. Along the way, you were kept guessing what would be next. Just when you thought you fathomed the truth, you might be wrong. Surely you are misdirected and would amaze of what coming. It's an unforeseen circumstance drawing my full attention and made me thrilled. I totally loved it and highly recommend this book.

The four year old son of a well-to-do family living in Dublin goes missing and the parents' worst nightmare begins.

Despite the subject matter this book is hugely entertaining and totally gripping from start to finish. The story is told mainly from the perspective of two characters - Marissa Irvine (the distraught mum) and Jenny, another parent with a child in the same class.

Some elements of the plot are a bit far-fetched but it's a thriller for entertainment so I was happy to go with the flow. There were many mis-directions and suspicions aroused along the way. Close to the end there were some 'big reveals' - as you would expect in a thriller - then suddenly, a last page slap in the face which made my jaw drop!

Many thanks to NetGalley, the publisher and author for an early review e-copy.
