Another great read but sue Roberts. Ypu can never go wrong with one of Sue's greek summer books and this is no different. Greece has my heart and I'm so jealous that I cant be there due to this pandemic so a book read it is.

Great read. Great character and locations.

Going Greek was funny and a heartwarming story about Samantha Southern who is a very famous talkshow host in Britain. After an unfortunate scandal, she decides to go on a holiday in Greece where her elder sister Fiona lives with her family. But it isn't easy. She soon runs into an old flame and also meets this handsome Greek neighbour. I wouldn't say I liked this the moment I started reading it. Took me time to completely devour myself into the book. Overall it was a feel good, light romantic summer read.

Samantha seems to have the perfect life with a career as a television presenter, glamorous friends and an adoring public. However she has a lapse of judgement in front of a photographer and everything collapses like a house of cards. She decides to make her escape and spend the summer in Greece with her sister and family. Will she be seduced by a simpler way of living and is she brave enough to make the change? A fantastic lighthearted summer read.

Sam, who once had the hearts of England as a famous morning talk show host at Wake Up Britain!, now has to cope with being on the bad side of publicity. With barely being able to step out of her own house without a clever disguise, Sam’s sister, Fiona, invites her to come stay with her and her family on their sheep farm in Greece. Deciding a little rest and relaxation never hurt anybody, she books a flight to start her seaside summer in Greece.

OK, I am going to be straight - this book was not my cup of tea. I really wanted to like it more, but the writing was not my style. The book was written through the POV of Sam, but her thoughts were hard to follow and were not cohesive. I honestly didn’t find myself rooting for her too much - some of her decisions were frustrating because it did not line up with her actual thoughts. A lot of the aspects of the plot were unrealistic and sometimes forced. E.g., I thought there was little Greek romance, and when it was mentioned, I was scratching my head because there was no context to back it up. The extra subplots with a few of the other characters seemed unnecessary and forced, too. While I thought the supporting characters were important to the story, I also found that their own issues seemed to only add to the unrealistic feeling of the book.

I usually expect corny, cliched dialogue and writing in rom-coms, but the execution in this book did not work for me. It had me physically eye-rolling at times. I don’t think it was huge on the comedy aspect. Some of the dialogue was funny, but I didn’t find myself smiling or laughing out loud like I do while reading other rom-coms.

I did enjoy the author’s descriptions of Greece - that was probably my favorite part of the book! She had me clearly picturing the sheep farm and Greek countryside throughout this book.

I think there are a group of readers that would adore this book. So if you are looking for a cheesy, easy-going read with a bit of book travel to Greece, give this one a shot!

There are moment when you want to read a humorous and escapist story. This was the perfect answer as it's a humorous and fun story.
Even if some part are bit forced and over the top (like the beginning) I had a lot of fun, rooted for the characters and traveled to Greece wishing I was there.
Recommended.

Female lead Sam escapes her professional woes in London by jetting off to sunny Greece for some quality time with her supportive family. Yes there's some drama and romance, and a lovely holiday setting. The locals are friendly, her young twin nieces are good for smiles, and the general tenor of the story is relaxing and positive. Not a particularly emotional or memorable story: I've read several of Sue Roberts' novels that I liked much better, probably because they evoked some deeper emotion and connection to the characters on my part. I did not feel that with TV presenter Sam.

I love the writing. It’s very engaging. I love the heroine. Very relatable.

Well, this was all right. Not the best book I have read by Sue Roberts.

I wasn't to crazy about the beginning. The whole drama seemed to be a little much. I don't really bought the fall out from such a thing. So that was a shame.

On the other hand I loved the witiness and the greek sun. :-) A very easy pool read.

I had so much fun reading this book! It's a perfect get away from reality and just enjoy reading the book. If you are looking for a book that you would like to read on the beach or on a sunny day than this book would be a good option to consider. The book is light-hearted and fun.

The book starts when Samantha her summer holiday starts as a disaster. Samantha works as a presenter for a morning TV show and with one celebration with co-workers everything she worked so hard for starts to fall apart. The public hates her, all her summer jobs fall trough and she might be fired. To escape all the negative publicity she decides to stay at her sisters home in Rhodes.

The story is all about Samantha her experience in unwinding and finding herself again. With a bit of romance of course. Samantha is al celebrity but she down to earth and compassionate. Going in I did not expect this. I thought she would be a bit more spoiled. But I liked Samantha. I did not agree with all of her decisions and I would act in another way, but I could understand where she was coming from.

A love triangle is not one of my favourite tropes but in this case it was okay. It was not good and it was not bad. This was for me the least favourite part of the book.

The best part about the book was for me to experience the way of living in Rhodes in Greek. I have never been there but the book took me and it was such a relaxing experience, especially since it's difficult to travel because of the pandemic. I would love to go to Rhodes one day and experience it myself.

This is the first book I have read by this author.

I was originally drawn to this book by its eye catching cover and its intriguing synopsis and title. The synopsis stated this book is 'A fun, fabulous and completely laugh-out-loud summer read perfect for fans of Carole Matthews, Jenny Colgan and Sophie Kinsella'. I am a huge fan of Jenny and Sophie so am looking forward to seeing if this lives up to this statement. I must admit I was also biased due to the publisher being Bookouture. I have yet to read a book published by Bookouture that I haven't enjoyed. Hopefully this won't be the first... Watch this space! (Written before I started reading the book).

This novel consists of a prologue, 24 chapters and an epilogue. The chapters are short to medium in length so possible to read 'just one more chapter' before bed...OK, I know yeah right, but still just in case!

This book is based in London, UK 🇬🇧 and Greece 🇬🇷 . The bonus for me of books that are partly or fully based in the UK is that I live in the UK and have sometimes visited places mentioned in the book which makes it easier to picture. I have actually visited London on several occasions so am looking forward to see if I recognise anywhere.

This book is written in first person perspective and the main protagonist is Sam. The benefits of books written in first person perspective are as long as they are well written it makes you feel that you are being spoken to by the protagonist and it can create more of a bond between yourselves and them.

This book is beautifully written and completely absorbs you in the stunning atmosphere of Greece and really sucks you in with the vivid descriptions leaving you feel the warmth of the the sun and smell of the sea. The synopsis and cover suits the storyline perfectly.

The storyline is authentic and realistic as well as easy to read and heartwarming. I loved reading all the developments at the farm, the ups and the downs. There were plenty of events going on throughout and it kept me hooked from start to end, I read it in one sitting. The storyline was filled with a range of emotions and was heartwarming, devastating and had lies, lost and new love, relationships, family, friendship and history all going on in this beautiful atmosphere. It felt like a lovely break away from a rainy Wales!! I loved how the story ended and I would love to read more about the life in this gorgeous Greek village. This would make a lovely series. An absolutely gorgeous book!!

The characters were all unique with their own realistic traits, strengths and weaknesses. It was intriguing to watch Sam, Aaron and Spyro's relationship grow, develop and change throughout the the storyline. I genuinely felt sorry for Sam throughout and felt that certain characters seemed to be very manipulative. It was also intriguing to see how not only Sam, Aaron and Spyro's relationship change throughout the book but also Sam's relationship with Fi, Nick and the girls and Sofia's relationship with Vasillis, I enjoyed how all the community helped each other out and were so friendly with Sam. I found Spyro's character to be very sweet and gentleman. All characters worked perfectly with the storyline and I would love to meet them again and hope to see this made into a series or even a movie!!!

Well done Sue, I will definitely be looking for your books any time I need to be swept off to another country!!!

Overall a perfect light hearted romance that will sweep you off your feet and land you in Greece.

I really enjoyed the last book I had read by this author, which was based on the Greek island of Kefalonia, and remembered it had made me feel so summery and relaxed that I just knew I had to read this book. Going Greek focusses on Sam, a TV presenter who’s worked hard at her career. When she has a one-night stand with someone who turns out to be a married man, she decides to take herself away from the bad press she’s receiving and heads to stay with her sister in Greece.

Sam is a likeable character, but I have to admit it did take a while before I truly liked her! At the beginning of the book, she’s very career focused and likes to keep her reputation as squeaky clean as she can. It was completely wrong for her to get so much criticism for her one-night stand, especially as she didn’t know he was married, but I would have loved her to stand up for herself and put the record straight rather than running away. However, if she had done that the book wouldn’t have much fun and we wouldn’t have met the new carefree Sam which we eventually got to see!

The plot moves along well, and while we are tempted with the chances of Greek romance for Sam, the story does focus more on Sam discovering the kind of person she wants to be and re-evaluating her life choices. Of course, there is romance, but it’s not as smooth and plain sailing for Sam and we are left waiting with anticipation throughout the story to find out whether she gets her happy ever after. I loved some of the other characters, particularly her sister, Fi and her family who I thought were delightful! The location was absolutely perfect and as I read, I could feel the warmth emanating from the pages! It was such an easy read with no big complicated plot twists and a storyline which held my attention right through to the end! This was a definitely a welcome piece of escapism with plenty of love, life and laughter!! Would recommend!!

I picked this book because of the cover and I am happy I did, I really enjoyed it. It made me want to drink a cocktail by the pool, or beach. The main character Samantha escapes to Greece after an incident at a work after party, that leaves her out of a job and humiliated. The author's writing style does seem similar to Sophie Kinsella. This was a fun, easy read that would be perfect for lounging by the pool or on the beach. The main character is very lovable and meeting all of the other interesting characters was entertaining to say the least. Greece sounds like a magical and beautiful place and I was so excited to read about it! Perfect light book for the summer!

As a fan of funny romances like from Sophia Kinsella or Jill Mansell, I was intrigued by the blurb of Going Greek. And although it has a fuzzy and cozy story, it takes a long time to get started...Yeah, I liked Sam and the story starts off pretty funny. And of course, the descriptions of the Greek scenary and the nice Greek people is awesome. But the rest of the story unfolds a bit too slowly for me. And although you can see the ending already from a mile away, it is a cute read. But I would advice Sue Roberts to shorten part of the story to keep the flow going.
So, in all, three out of five stars from me and a special thank you to Netgalley for providing the arc.

I was excited for this one because I love romances with traveling, especially to Greece! It’s labeled as a romcom, but there wasn’t any funny moments- I’d say it’s more contemporary. I also can’t really think of anything that I enjoyed from this book. I’m giving 2 stars just to be nice.

I didn’t like the main character- she’s a television presenter and yet we’re supposed to believe the public thinks of her as a celebrity and gossips about her across countries for weeks. She is very immature, appearance obsessed, and has barely any personality. Also, her inner monologues are just about guys. You’re in Greece, stop thinking about boys and what people think about you for one day.
I also couldn’t really seem to care about any of the side characters. I felt no connection to anything.
I was hoping that I’d get to see Greek culture and descriptions of what she saw, but it was a very basic portrayal.
I pushed through to the end because I wanted to give an honest review, but if this wasn’t an eArc it would have been a DNF.

Wow I loved this novel its a fantastic summer read. I couldn't put it down. Who doesn't love a book set in Greece. This novel is brilliant you will not be disappointed with it.
After a scandal sam wants to escape London and goes to visit her sister's family Greece. After meeting some delightful local characters and a blast from the past. Which way will she turn. Posted in other places just have to wait for it to be approved.

WhenI can't get to Rhodes to visit my Greek "family" due to the Pandemic, well Rhodes will just have to come to me - in literary form! I've read another Greek set romcom by this same author and thoroughly enjoyed it, so I jumped at the chance to read this one too.

Sam leads a fast-paced life as a Morning TV presenter in London. She thinks she has it all but in the blink of an eye it all gets taken away from her. Branded a homewrecker (how was she supposed to know the dumba%% was married!), she has fled to Rhodes to hide out with her sister.

On arrival, she is very much a duck out of water but she soon realises that she's not missing the hubbub of London as much as she thought she would. She's making friends with the locals, settling in on the family farm, and even attempting to learn some local recipes.

There is a possible reconnection with an old flame and the temptation of new love with the local quiet, unassuming Cheesemaker. But will Sam be turned by the bright lights of city life or can she settle for the idyllic paradise?

Small village Greek setting, the wonderfully colourful locals, and the evocative worldbuilding had me thinking I was back in my second home of Rhodes! I love my wee escapes there but since COVID that's been a pipedream. But with all the descriptions of the places I know so well, I could just let go of dreary Scotland and settle into the heat of the Med! The romance is not exactly setting the kindle on fire, the chemistry between the potential love triangle is gentle and tentative for the most part. But the comedy is well-paced and well placed and will leave you chuckling.

I would have enjoyed more of the romance and more of our lovely cheesemaker, he really needed to make a move earlier! I'll definitely be reading more of this authors work in the future.

I have read and enjoyed a few of this authors books, so when I saw her latest one out I immediately grabbed a copy. I mean the setting is Greece so straight away I am imagining the food and the setting.

Sam is a television presenter, she has worked hard to get where she is. She has a squeaky clean profile, with no skeletons. This is she has been so career-focused. It has been all she has thought about since she was a little girl. Until she is snapped kissing a man who turns out to be married! She was unaware and suddenly she is being trolled on social media and is in hiding. Escaping to her sister sheep farm in Greece gives her a chance to hide and reassess her life.

This is another enjoyable read from this author and once again she has given me a gorgeous setting to imagine myself in, surrounded by family and friends. Sam gets a shock when she bumps into an old flame and does have a rather nice on the eye neighbour. As she isn't sure which way her life is going to go she stutters around not really getting anywhere.

I do like this author and I really enjoy her books, this one felt a little flat on the romance side. I mean there is some eye fluttering, the odd peck and the like but not the anticipation or the build-up to a steamy romance. In some ways, this was as if Sam was holding too dearly to her public image, or maybe once bitten twice shy as far as trusting men.

This was a relatively quick read and I did think it progressed a little too quickly. I would have liked a little bit more romancing, all the same, a very nice story and one I was glad to have read. I would definitely recommend this author and I would recommend this latest book.

While Sam is getting used to her life being non famous in Greece, she meets a handsome Greek Spyros who owns a cheese factory. And then while at the beach, she meets Aaron, her ex-boyfriend who broke her heart years ago and now wants to get back with her.

I have read Sue Robert's book before and this book didn't even disappoint me. A warm cozy romance story with Greek culture in the background and the author did a good job drawing the reader into the story and making the reader feel like they are in Greece with the character. For me, the characters are likable, a short read which I was able to finish off the book within a day and quiet enjoyed reading this cheesy warm romantic novel that made me feel like I was in Greece enjoying the beautiful descript scenes in Greek countryside and away from the hustle and bustle of London city. The cover is beautiful and manage to attract the reader (I am fetish for beautiful covers)
