I received a free copy in exchange for an honest review. All opinions are my own.

To be honest, this was a lot. I didn’t read the prequel, so it took a bit for me to get into this world. If you’re a fan or paranormal and fantasy, I believe you would like this book.

The storyline flows so well, and Tatenda Creed knows how to build a world. Its fast pace and the many twists and turns keep you flipping pages until you get to the last one. It turns out, the story was so much different than what I was expecting. She is also knowing how to build her characters.

When Alexandra gets into an accident and becomes paralyzed then wakes up and is completely healed, she has more questions than answers. Her mother won’t answer any of her questions and purposely hides the truth from her. Her only way to answers is in the supernatural world. What will happen when she digs and finds out the answers to the questions no one wants to answer?

But, on the downside, I felt like her writing was just too descriptive. I tend to like simple, easy to fall into books. This one was complex. There’s nothing wrong with that, it’s just my opinion. Also, Alexander just annoyed me. But it was also refreshing because most stories have the lovable main character.

Either way, this was a good book. It isn’t typically something I would read but I will defiantly continue to read the next books in the series. I need to know how things end!

This book sounds so good and I was really looking forward to reading it. Unfortunately, it just isn’t for me it seems. I am really not enjoying how the mother treats her daughter and then how the daughter’s personality goes from free and happy to obeying everything. It just didn’t make me feel good while reading so I decided to stop reading this book.

So, going into this book I did not know there was a prequel. It may have been helpful because I did find the book really confusing and hard to get into. I almost put it down but I kept trudging on and I’m glad that I did, because it did get really interesting and I became invested in the characters. I really wanted to know the outcome and I was overwhelmed to find out there is like 8 books in the series. I may read them down the road if I have the time. Thank you to NETGALLEY for the ARC.

Like any good YA fantasy book, this is full of mystery intrigue and betrayal at every turn. No one is to be trusted, not the boyfriend or the best friend not even your mother.

Alexandra crashes her bike and not even 10 minutes later all her injuries are magically healed. Not only that but a wolf turns into a strange woman in front of her and issues a warning. When Alexandra tells her Mom what happened she freaked out and only explained the bare minimum. Her mother believes that if Alexandra finds out the truth it will trigger an unstoppable series of events leading to Alex’s death.

Alex on the other hand can’t stand the mystery or the fact that everyone around her is not who she thinks they are. So she tries to find the answers themselves.

Think City of bones by Cassandra Clare and fallen by Lauren Kate. There were some ups and downs and there were some confusion at the beginning that almost made me drop this book but I’m glad I didn’t. This book was way better than I had hoped.

This book was really not for me at all, it sadly reads like a bad novel without the interest, chemistry or romance. Unfortunately I can’t recommend anything appealing

Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for a free copy for an honest opinion

I really wanted to enjoy this book, but it was just too similar to other supernatural/paranormal romances I have read. We are introduced to Alexandra, a young woman with a love of speed. One day while out on a ride, she has an accident and miraculously is healed from paralysis. This incident begins a transformation within her body and her mother must tell her the truth, that Alexandra is a hybrid. Except her mother doesn't actually tell her any more than that. Her mother tells her that Alexandra's life is at risk if she learns the whole truth. Alexandra also learns that she has a supernatural soul mate that she must find. Alexandra continues to try to uncover the truth about herself and her parents, all the while putting herself in greater and greater danger. I did read the prequel novella before I read The Seer and so my expectations were for a very different story than what The Seer told.

This book was like a bad romance novel with out the romance. The description of the book looked really interesting, but the actual book was not very good. I had to force myself to continue reading. It did get better in the end, so maybe the other books are better? 🤷🏻‍♀️

I really enjoyed reading this book--let's start there.
I think that the plot was extremely interesting and engaging. It kept me hooked the entire time. It kept me reading.

Let me start by saying I did not read the prequel, which maybe if I had could have solved many of my issues with the book. I have a hard stance on a novel/ series having required reading material to understand it, a hard no stance. I feel as if I have NO idea who anyone is. I would put the book down, pick it back up and be so confused about the characters. It took me until the end of the book to remember who Sean was.

That being said, I was captivated. The plot was unlike any other book I have read (& I have read a lot). I may not know who anyone is, or what is going on, but I can't wait to download the next book and find out.

The writing style was decent, but I couldn't get passed the mother. Or the side characters not being fleshed out. They felt like they only existed to interact with the main character. Even when we got POV from the love interest.

*Thank you to the publisher.
