This book kinda reminded me of that TV show, Manhattan Love Story which I loved and this lived up to that feeling. It was funny and heartfelt and a joy to ride along from A to Z.
I liked their meet cute and the pursuit of a connection without being creepy and overbearing. It was easy to follow along and fall in love.

I was given an ARC of this book from the publisher in exchange for my honest review.

I really wanted to like this book. I thought the premise was really cute - an interesting meet-cute, a series of alphabet-inspired dates, and a story of a commitment-phobe and the hopeless romantic that comes along and changes everything for her.

This book had everything to make for a good rom-com read, but it felt really lacking. There was no chemistry or spark between the two leads, and everything felt forced. There was hardly any conflict, and while I understand that that was the point, it felt a bit flat. Real relationships are not sensationalized or full of drama but deal with complex emotions and people in different stages of their lives. The conflict comes from not knowing if the relationship is what you want, if you are on the same page, if you want the same things, and while I can appreciate what the author was trying to do here, it didn't work for me.

I found Alice to be incredibly immature, especially for someone who was almost 30 and owned their own business and I found Zach to be clingy and petulant when things didn't go his way. There was a whole mess of insecurity in both of them that likely needed to be unpacked before they got into a relationship with each other. This book just wasn't a good fit for me.

Nice rom com with a unique premise.

A good summer read with characters you can root for. Very funny at times with some heart melting moments.

Great writing and narrative plot but perhaps its an age thing because I couldn't quite connect with story. I am sure this will appeal to a younger audience.

I liked this, both characters were sweet. I loved the setting and date ideas. Devoured it in a day. Really easy read.

I had really high hopes for this one. I loved the title and cover and the blurb had me hooked right away. The meet cute was perfect but the first issue came during that night at the art exhibit. There is zero transition between scenes in this book. I found myself doing a double take and rereading trying to see what I missed almost every single time the scene changed. It makes following the plot hard and really disrupted my reading pace. I was never able to really get into the book because I was constantly hitting those little patches. Picture a skipping CD, but it was my brain. I still really loved the plot idea so I pushed forward hoping I wouldn’t care once I really got into the book. There you find my second issue and ultimately the reason I’m setting this one aside. I’m already not much of a fan of instant love in my books, but their cute was great and I mean, they do need to get through an entire alphabet, so I didn’t care at first. Zach gives off so many red flags and warning bells. I legitimately felt kinda creeped out and uncomfortable reading his character. Here’s Alice, an independent and strong woman who right off the back puts herself and her expectations out there and then there's Zach, who chooses to ignore everything she has said. She even left dates early, explained feeling uncomfortable and then he asked her to be official?? There was ZERO chemistry between the two. When they finally get to the date where things turn physical, it's worse than a fade to black. They get to the front door and then it's the next chapter/day. They REALLY needed that chemistry to play out because it wasn't working otherwise. After the first chapter at the art exhibit, everything goes downhill. Zach’s character is one of the most cringeworthy I’ve read in awhile.
This is all very harsh and I feel bad saying these things knowing an author has poured themselves into a book, but this really just isn’t ready for the masses yet.

What a fun read! I have already purchased a copy for our library. I know patrons will devour this one. If you need a fun, light read - this one is perfect. What a fun escape. Also - my husband needs to step up his dating game. Maybe I will find this book in an audio version for him, hehe. *I was given this book in exchange for an honest review.

The A to Z of Us follows commitment-phobe Alice and romantic Zach as they go on a series of dates that follow an alphabet theme.

As other reviewers have stated, this isn’t a will they get together but a will they stay together story. I thought the whole idea was very cute, and I loved that Zach was the romantic one instead of Alice. I’m so tired of the crazy in love girl and the too cool for love boy books.

I also really enjoyed Natalie and thought she was a fantastic friend.

However, after I finished this book something was bothering me, and I couldn’t quite put my finger on it. Then, it hit me. My big problem is with Zach. Zach who is supposed to be our romantic, in love with love male lead was nothing more than a giant pouter. Alice doesn’t agree with every thing he says? Pouts. Leaves. Puts her in a situation where she has to make a decision immediately even though he knows she’s unsure/uncomfortable and he mentions that he knows he’s going faster she’d like.

Thanks to Netgalley for the ARC.

The concept of this book is so creative! I love it!
But also it’s a long way from A to Z. As mush as it is engaging, it’s also just a tiny bit tiring half way through the book.

Overall it’s a great summer read and a lovely love story. Would recommend for a great summer read!

Very cute rom-com. Alice and Zach have a meet cute at an art gallery showing his work. After a few drinks and rounds of UNO, Zach proposes on a lark, that they should have a date for every letter from A to Z. The chapter headings are cleverly the alphabetized titles of their dates. Along the way they deal with her best friends who are a help and a hinderence. Some dates are traditional like lunch or Netflix others more creative. But each moves their relationship along. I love Zach. I want my daughter to find a Zach. He is so sweet, bumbling, kind and sincere. Alice has trust issues and it is harder for her to commit, especially when she learns that Zach broke up with his previous girlfriend on the day they met.

This is a genuinely funny book and easy to read. I got a little tired of texting acronyms only because I don't use them. I think it ends at a natural moment but not everything about their individual wants has not been resolved. Some cursing and intimacy takes place off the page. Thank you to NetGalley and HQ HarperCollins for an ARC ebook in exchange for an honest review.

Such a lovely read it was a shame to end. I really enjoyed following Alice and Zach on their dates and seeing what they would each come up on their dates starting A-Z. Definitely worth a read. A solid ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ from me

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book provided by to me through NetGalley. All thoughts and opinions are my own. Thank you to the author and publisher for giving me the opportunity to read this book!

What happens when you put together a girl who is a self-proclaimed skeptic when it comes to love and not real keen on romantic relationships (meet Alice) and a guy who admits he “loves love” (meet Zach) and mix in a super adorable meet cute? You get Hannah Doyle’s “The A to Z of Us.” From the moment Zach and Alice met in this book I couldn’t wipe the smile off my face. Zach’s idea, after he recognizes their names bookend the alphabet, to go on letter-themed dates had me so excited to find out what they would be doing on each and every date. The fact that Alice didn’t think she would get past “Letter C”, since she usually is a three date maximum kind of girl, had me looking forward to how Zach would continue to woo her and persuade her to his way of thinking. Overall, it was a super light, feel good read, with a little HEA thrown in for good measure.

I loved reading the story of Alice and zach and the apprehension both were feeling towards the relationship.... Alice scared to get too involved and zach scared she would run away....
I loved how original some of the date ideas were and loved how it all came together.
An easy romantic read

In „The A to Z“ fand ich beides ok, aber nicht komplett überzeugend.

This was a really unique concept that I’ve never read before in that Alice and Zach meet and decide to do the A-Z of dates because their names bookend the alphabet. This for Alice is a big deal as she has her own self imposed rule of never going on more than 3 dates with the same guy but then Zach, who is funny, charming and romantic, comes along and she starts to question her rule.

I really enjoyed following Alice and Zach on their dates and seeing what they would each come up with as they took it in turn to organise them. It was nice to see Alice open up her heart to Zach after being so convinced that a relationship wasn’t for her and seeing how they faced the bumps in the road together. This book was funny, had drama and romance and I would definitely recommend!

This was a pretty typical modern romance. I did really love the idea of the A-Z dates, and it’s something I want to try out with my husband! However, I found myself extremely annoyed with Alice throughout the entire book. I hated how she always had her walls up for seemingly no reason. Was it literally only because her past relationships haven’t worked out and then her best friend breaks up with her boyfriend? Is that all it takes to put you off dating? She wouldn’t let herself feel ANYTHING even while Zach was giving her everything she needed. I did think Zach was written perfectly and was a great mix of romantic and real modern man. He was appropriately jealous of Alice’s friends, felt self conscious for the right reasons, and yet still tried to prove that he was perfect for Alice. Some of the writing rubbed me the wrong way as well. The author used just about every millennial phrase she could fit in the novel, such as “not today satan!” and “lewk”. I found myself rolling my eyes more than once. Overall, this didn’t blow me away and was pretty comparable to every other modern romance on the market right now.

Thank you to NetGalley, Hannah Doyle, and HQ Digital for the opportunity to read an advanced copy. I will be posting my review on NetGalley and Good Reads now, and will post on my Instagram and blog on publishing day.

From the minute I started this book I knew it was one for me; I was laughing within minutes. A chance meeting sees Alice and Zach start a string of dates with a theme of A to Z.

The book is told from a dual POV from both main characters and for the most part I liked this. Both character’s personalities shone through immediately and it was really easy to connect with them both. Zach does come across as quite young though at times with the way he describes how he feels about certain things, sort of how you would imagine a teenager to think about things. However, this isn’t all of the time and it was only a slight niggle.

I absolutely loved the idea behind the story. Of course, Alice and Zach’s names begin with A and Z so what a fun idea to go on an alphabet run of dates. Not only did it mean so many really fun different setting but also characters in a lot of different scenarios.

This isn’t your average love story of will they won’t they and I liked that there was quite a few twists and turns throughout. I couldn’t put this one down!

This book had me laughing from literally the first paragraph. This is my first Hannah Doyle book so I did not know what to expect and was very pleasantly surprised. It was bonkers and and an all around delight. I loved both Alice and Zach from their meet cute where Zach catches and is highly amused by Alice having a conversation with herself mocking his artwork.

This book isn’t the typical romance of will they get together, it’s a story of will they stay together. So it lacked a lot of that will they won’t they tension I’ve come to expect in my romances. Each chapter revolves a different date, each chosen based on a letter of the alphabet going from A to Z (hence the name of the book). The book is dual POV with the chapters alternating between Alice and Zach.

Many aspects of this book, including a lot of the humor I think was written directly for me. The first line is literally, “There’s crap everywhere,” which is 100% something I have said. Alice carries Uno cards in her purse, which I haven’t done, but I now want to do that. The fact that Alice has an ongoing argument with a pigeon who se calls “the Big Shitter” is something me with my hatred of pigeons would have. On of their dates Zach quizzes Alice on “Notting Hill” film quotes, which hello, is my ideal date. Like I said, it’s a bit bonkers, but exactly my type or bonkers.

I quite like the premise of this book, although I'm not sure it delivered exactly what I'd hoped. I love stories where one of the protagonists is clearly interested in the other and yet resistant to falling. I love reading that resistance breaking down, I was mostly irritated by the heroine of this novel, although she did redeem herself in the end.
I thought the setup of the a-z was very clever and some of it was entertaining.
