The concept of this story is nice. It’s about a child who discovered their local library has been closed down and is going to be knocked down and developed into something else. The child, Rosa, decides this Cant happen and enlists her sisters help, who suggests they protest this. Realising 2 people is hardly making a difference, they set about to find more people to join them. After a difficult start and some persistence, they manage to be heard and the library is opened once more.

This book was okay. It’s a short story, with little wording so would make a fast read and has lovely illustrations. I liked the persistence of the little girl and her fight for a good cause but it didn’t jump out to me. In fact, I found it a little boring. However, that doesn’t mean that children won’t enjoy it, but for me, unfortunately, it didn’t stand out.

I love the illustrations, the characters and the colour palette in this book. And the story about preserving libraries is a noble one, and we need many more books like this! An excellent choice for the little activists.
