3.5 stars, rounded down, for a historical fiction book set 1941 to 1943. There are several main characters:
Billi O'Shaughnessy Huntington, wife of FBI agent Jack Huntington
Eddy O'Shaughnessy, Billy's brother
Akio Sumiyoshi, Japanese spy who tried to kill both Jack and Billi
I found Billy's character to be foolish, in that she enlists in SPARS, US Coast Guard women's service under a false name, exposing herself to arrest or worse.
There was also a major error- a character reads in May 1942 about the evacuation at Dunkirk, which took place in May 1940.
Pros : The battle scenes were realistic. The author spent years interviewing people who lived through WWII. Civilian life during WWII is also accurately portrayed.
This is book 2 in a trilogy. I might have enjoyed it more if I had read book 1. However, I will not read the rest of the trilogy.

This is a very interesting mix , fiction, romance and drama. Meticulous in its attention to detail and historical accuracy, the book shines a light on the complexities of wartime relationships. I didn’t know much about this aspect of WWII so it was also a learning experience for me.
