No life too small by Alexis Fleming
If there was a 6th star, nay a 10th star out of 5 stars this book would get it! This is because of the sure brilliance of Alexis and her writing style. This book is truly stunning. It is wrote so light hearted with such beauty and humour that you are instantationously connected and involved in the story. Alexis Fleming's story will truly capture your heart. The daily struggles of her life helping animals is brilliantly awe-inspiring. Her dedication to making the ends of her animals lives the best they can be is portrayed throughout this book. Even though her own life is put at risk due to her potentially deadly Crohns disease. Her stories of the animals she has helped would captivate any audience; young or old. As she strives to create the worlds first animal hospice.
If you could only read one book in the year this one will be it!
I make this book Ladyreading365's 'Book of the year'

I cried a lot because it's a moving book especially if you are an animal lover.
Alexis illness, Maggie story are heartbreaking but, especially for Maggie they are also heartwarming because they talk about the support that a pet can give you.
I loved this story and hope that it will be read by a lot of people because it's full of heart and hope.
Highly recommended.
Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine

Some tears were rolling down my face throughout this lovely and poignant book. Alexis Fleming has not had an easy life due to her body working against its best interest. That alone would make many people give up, but not even "a few weeks to live" diagnosis has killed her spirit. Taking on a lot of animals who have suffered tremendously in the hands of some humans is one of the greatest things a human can do, according to me.

The different stories about all the precious animals she has shared her life with are both sad and uplifting. Sad because none of them has had a good life, and for many of them there is not much time left. Uplifting because they get one last chance, unlike billions of animals around the globe.

It's impossible for me to choose my favourite story of all of these, but Maggie most definitely was a special case. Not only was she the original, the first one, but no matter what happened she was always part of the story, even though she crossed the rainbow bridge years ago. Highly recommended reading for compassionate people who care about animals and their welfare. For everyone else: it's about time you start caring, too!

I'm a dog lover and books about dogs always grab my attention. The first chapter where Alexis buys Maggie stole my heart. As a fur mum to a rescued dog it breaks my heart to try to imagine what these unloved and unwanted dogs go through. It's not all about the dogs past lives, it's more about their new lives so its not a distressing read in that respect.

When Alexis became ill it was Maggie who helped her pull through. I can totally relate to the kindness and love a dog can give back. I was in a similar situation and my dog helped me. The bond between human and dog is unbreakable so when Maggie died I was very upset. But Alexis did something positive and I am in awe of her. I absolutey loved reading this memoir and my heart goes out to all the animals she cares for, giving each one the absolute best in their final days.
