Having spent 20 years in the retail industry so aware of the broader trends I was interested to understand what this book had to offer. Overall I'd say the book got better as you read through it and I did find some key insights from the analysis conducted.

The book started with broad trends covering multiple countries. It may have been down to my own experience but I found this section too broad and not really valuable overall. Sure it sets the context but I think this could have been done in a more condensed fashion.

The second section going through some of the innovations and ideas I thought was well structured and provided good insights taking a range of examples globally.

The final section going through specific use cases I personally found most useful and structured - short chapters with clear summaries of what respective companies had done to deliver a difference.

Overall a good read and if you want to learn about retail, omni-channel, global trends this is a good place to go.
