I must firstly apologise for the amount of time it has taken me to provide a review of this book, my health was rather bad for quite some time, something that had me in hospital on numerous occasions and simply didnt leave me with the time I once had to do what I love most.

Unfortunately that does mean I have missed the archive date for many of these books, so It would feel unjust throwing any review together without being able to pay attention to each novel properly.

However, I am now back to reading as before and look forward to sharing my honest reviews as always going forward. I thank you f0r the patience and understanding throughout x

Nina and Conrad move into their dream home in Willow Close on the day one of the young girls from the Close is found murdered. Is their dream about to turn into their worst nightmare. The police call on all the neighbours and we discover secrets behind closed doors and appearances aren't all they seem. Initial suspects turn into useful sources of information. Just goes to show you that nothing is as it seems behind closed doors

Unfortunately I was a bit disappointed by this one. Had this been written by a less established writer I might have chalked some of the issues down the inexperience as the writing felt quite amateur.

The number of characters felt confusing and they way they were written felt awkward and unbelievable with wooden dialogue.

The plot felt thin as if it were a first draft and I found the writing lazy and over reliant on stereotypes.

This was a well written easy read thriller. I have read many others by the author and found this latest book just as enjoyable. At first there seemed a lot of characters with a lot going on but as the story took hold I really enjoyed it.

A recommended read.

Thank you Netgalley.

What a gripping thriller.

This was a very disturbing but good read.

This was a really great read, a simple crime thriller but it was well written and kept me hooked throughout.

This novel has left me rather undecided! For the first few chapters I found it rather facile with the introduction of more and more extreme characters all living in the same road and suspects for the murder of the a young girl. However as it progressed I found it became quite a page turner with a denouement I had not anticipated.

This is the first book I have read by Lesley pearse.
This book was great and I loved the twist and turns as the investigation unfolded and questioning who it could be.
The plot was well thought out.
I now want to read more and found a new author I like.

Young couple move to a new house in a close. Young resident is murdered. Is it one of their new neighbours? You’ll be hooked by this one

Totally absorbing with so many secrets in one quiet Close. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and it really made me wonder what is hidden in my neighbours lives!
Thank you Netgalley and Penguin, Michael Joseph UK for the opportunity to read and review this book.

I have read almost all of Lesley's books in the past, so I couldn't wait to get my hands on this one! Once again she also didn't disappoint. Everybody is suspects, and this what keeps the reader glued and entertained until the end. Recommended for anyone who loves a great read full of twists and turns.

Love Lesley Pearse books but this one I found difficult to get into. Good story and some interesting characters.
My thanks to NetGalley and Penguin Michael Joseph UK for the early read.

I have read/listened to all of Lesley's books. This one is set in the modern-day. It was quite confusing to start with as it is based in a close where something seems to be going wrong in every single house! Who murdered Chloe a young 13-year-old. All of the residents are under suspicion and it is up to DI Marshall to solve. I have always enjoyed Lesley's books. this one was good but not my favourite. Looking forward to the next one!

Definitely one of my favourite books by Lesley Pearse! A proper whodunnit that keeps you guessing till the end.

Willow Close seems like just another ordinary street in Pinewood Estate, Cheltenham. A quiet neighbourhood..... or so it seemed to Conrad and Nina but on the day they move in the body of a young girl is found. She was brutally murdered.
Together with the couple, we meet all the different people living in the close. People who are all hiding something. There's the noisy busy body, the alcoholic, the lawbreakers, the neglected, the liars and the cheaters. Is this street cursed?
The ending is quite shocking but also very sad. Do we reach out when we see someone is in trouble or do we carry on with our lives like nothing is wrong? Sometimes that little bit of compassion you show can save a life.

I loved this and can so see this as a movie!

Thank you to NetGalley and Penguin Michael Joseph for the ARC in exchange for my honest opinion

Suspects makes me glad I don't live with the people in the book as neighbours. Each has their own secrets which are tantalisingly revealed in a way that keeps you gripped and turning the pages to uncover more and find out who was guilty. fantastically well-paced and interesting read.

I have read many Lesley Pearce books over the years and have loved them, sadly I couldn’t get into this one, I think my reading style has changed a little over the last couple of years.

When Nina and Conrad move into their new home it should of been wonderful.
A child’s body has been found nearby
Who could of murdered her?
Everyone in Willow close is a suspect and everyone has secrets.
A brilliant book
Loved it
Thanks NetGalley
