Really really liked this one, and I think my high school readers will as well. So much action, and the sweet romance Emma had was a nice addition as well!

So, confession time. About a quarter way through the book, I realized that I had no clue what the apocalypse was here. Like, it's possible the author told us more than 'World Go Bad', but I honestly don't have a clue.

I mean, there's some sort of economic and social collapse caused by...'World Go Bad', but that's all I know.

So whether or not this book is success for you depends on if you're more interested in the day zero collapse or just the survival aspect. This is more survival - and a very vanilla survival at that.

I guess at its heart, it's a bit more about the survival of a plucky, yet socially awkward teen and her friends. As a friendship story and a coming of age, it definitely works, and I found I liked our characters.

I just found myself aching for some sort of reason (even a paper thin one) behind everything. And, again, if the author told us the reason, I simply don't recall it.

I'll start by saying that this book gave me SO MUCH anxiety. Some may view that as a negative thing but for me it means that the author made me feel something and that is the sign of a good book and a good author.
Anything remotely travel related defintely peaks my interest and this did not dissapoint.
This book was well written and very fast paced, I wish that I could read it again for the first time.
I love that this story wasn't super predictable and the ending was one worth reading for!

This was a very exciting and fast paced adventure story. I enjoyed reading this one, it had a great cast of characters and an awesome premise. I only wish that we could of gotten more information about the collapse and what happened, a lot of the information we were given was pieced together and didn't really paint a clear picture. Overall, a good story.

This was a quick read but I wish it explored what exactly was going on in the world to make it so chaotic. I really liked the romance involved too. It was so sweet! I'm curious if there will be a sequel since a lot of things were left unanswered.

Loved this book! There was so much going on that it was a rollercoaster of emotions. The main character was very likeable and the plot just never stopped. Would recommend to friends.

Thanks to the publisher for providing an eARC of Evacuation Road in exchange for an honest review.

Evacuation Road has a really unique plot and it was really interesting to watch Eva and her friends progress as characters as more and more obstacles were put in their paths. I wasn't a super big fan of the narration which is probably the only reason I didn't really love this, but I was really surprised yet happy by the way the conclusion completely subverts where I thought the book was going. Eva's really easy to root for as a protagonist and if you're into survival-adventure stories, you should give this one a shot.

Overall the book was a fun, tense, fast paced read that I really enjoyed and I give it 4 stars out of 5. I liked how each chapter started with the information of what they have left as it made it easier to keep track of. The book throughout its entirety was tense and suspenseful and kept me captivated with what was happening and small twists and situations the characters were experiencing. I felt worried for the characters and was hopeful things would go right for them but that wasn’t always the case which was good, because it made the story more interesting and so I were drawn back in with questions such as “what’s going happen?” and “what are they going to do?!”

The ending had me hoping there were more pages and a part of me wants to know what happened next but on the other hand I like where it ended and it was a great ending as it dtill holds you in suspense, even after it’s finished.
There characters were all likeable (the ‘villain’ was a frustrating villain and fit into the story well, so was likeable in that aspect.) but I would’ve loved to have gotten to know them a bit better. I also would’ve loved more background on what had actually happened prior to the start of the book which is why I am giving Evacuation Road 4 stars.

Wow, what a nonstop thriller read this was. War zones, guns, knives, burnt out cars, riots, dead bodies, border guards and shootings all happening when their evacuation bus leaves three students behind. The bus is half a continent away so the three have to pool resources and hope they can make it. As they travel they find the border is closed between Chile and Bolivia, and they meet Alice and Brodie. As the five students travel, they find they can’t give into the darkness as they keep running into more and more challenges. Do they end up getting to their final destination after all they’ve been through? Could not put this book down. Excellent.
