An interesting take on the current political climate. As someone who is resident in a country where there is political upheaval, there is not much I can further comment on safely.

Fantastic, pithy thumbnails from an Australian journalist here. That most of these articles are short doesn't mean they are lacking in ideas. As a Brexile, I particularly welcome Mr Spencer's take on the folly of Brexit.

This is a book comprising of a collection of inciteful short essays written over a number of years, on a wide range of emotive subjects.

At last, I have found an author who closely shares my opinions about the general state of the world, in particular my strong opinions on our current global politicians.

I really enjoy John Spencer's writing style and I was (almost) able to read the book in one long sitting. Not just because we align in our thought processes, but because of his eloquence and his ability to easily grip the reader.

The only niggling comment that I have is keeping track of the jumbled timeline. However, this does not detract from the enjoyment of reading this fascinating book.

I am looking forward to reading his other books.
