I knew going into this that it would be a boring book but I was looking for something light to read before bed so I went ahead with it.

These are the memoirs of a Canadian white woman recovering from a back injury and discovering yoga, reiki and other alternative therapies. I'm not going to comment on her choices or experiences but I will say that yoga is not a magic solution and takes months for it to bring a change within you, just like any other exercise.

As for the writing, the characters were not well-written. I did not understand how I was supposed to feel about certain characters. Often times their exchanges and behaviors felt like they were angsty teenagers and not adults. She wrote this as a journal first and it felt like I was reading one with no context.

I read the first chapters and really felt for the author. However I really wasn’t a fan of this book took me time to get into it and I put it down a few times and then picked it back up, not enough intrigue in the book for me ! Maybe I needed something a little more light hearted at that time.
