Suzanne Snow is a new author to me.

A Summer of Second Chances is the third book in the series. It was a good way to find out about the setting, characters and author's writing style.

The writing style was a little predictable but I did enjoy Daisy and Ben's backstories. It's an opposites attract story, one of finding someone when you least expect it.

The Yorkshire Dales is an area I've never been to, and they were picturesque.

A charming Yorkshire-set romance that will have readers smiling throughout, Suzanne Snow’s A Summer of Second Chances is an absolute delight.

Daisy doesn’t go in for excitement or adventure. She loves her routine and every day is pretty much the same: she goes to work, comes back home and makes dinner for her son before doing some sewing. Each day follows a fairly similar pattern and that is just how she likes it. Daisy isn’t looking for change – until Ben crashes into her life and turns her entire world upside down.

While Daisy takes great comfort in sewing, Ben works himself to the absolute limit in a feeble attempt to stop his thoughts from thinking about a recent trauma. Ben is training for a triathlon and was not planning on romance – until he met Daisy. As the two of them find themselves growing closer and closer, there is no denying that they are attracted to one another. So why does Ben push her away when things begin to get serious between them?

Ben’s heart had been shattered once before and he isn’t ready to take another chance on love, but will this resolve end up costing him a love that could last a lifetime? Daisy and Ben are absolutely perfect for one another, but with Ben’s life in New York and Daisy’s in Yorkshire, is a future for the two of them possible? Or will this second chance end up slipping through their fingers?

Suzanne Snow is fast becoming one of my favourite authors. She writes with plenty of verve and style and pens emotional and uplifting romances that are a joy to read from beginning to end and A Summer of Second Chances is certainly no different. Witty, romantic and poignant, A Summer of Second Chances is a story of new beginnings, fresh starts and healing from the past readers will find themselves devouring in one sitting.

Romantics everywhere will certainly not want to miss A Summer of Second Chances and they should definitely add Suzanne Snow’s name to their must-buy lists.

I adore a slow burn romance and this one was so lovely, beautifully told story with issues of trauma being dealt with such sensitivity, a great summery read.

This is the 2nd book that I have read by this author and I really enjoyed this one as much as the other.
A sensitive issue regarding trauma was discussed well and with sensitivity.
I liked Daisy although her amazing community spirit would put Wonder Woman to shame!
Looking forward to reading another one by this author.

Easy lighthearted slow burning romance between Ben and Daisy when neither of them are looking for love, but isn't that always the way! Likeable characters both with their own issues and good seeing them overcome them

This is the 2nd novel I've read by this author and it was significantly better. Not great but still worth a read.

I enjoyed reading this story, filled with interesting characters & a good storyline.
Following the ups & downs of a blossoming relationship between Daisy and Ben. Ben comes to stay in Daisy’s airbnb-style accommodation at the bottom of her garden, and is trying to recover from a traumatic event in his life by throwing himself into training for a triathlon. Daisy is facing her teenage son’s imminent departure to college and re-adjusting to life alone but finds herself attracted to Ben at the very time she wasn’t looking.
An enjoyable read.

Daisy is taking care of her parents house whilst they are in canada visiting her sister. Daisy has a teenage son Josh.

Se decides to let out the cottage attached to her parents house to a young man training for a triathalon. Ben is mysterious, a bit grumpy, is 10 years younger than Daisy, but sparks soon start to fly.

It was a good story, more of a slow burn, but i liked it.

A lovely story with characters that are engaging. You want to know the true story behind both Ben and Daisy and keep everything crossed that it all works out.

Daisy is a 35 year old single mum who is sensible, responsible and also not looking forward to her son going to College. Ben is suffering from trauma after witnessing something terrible and rents a cottage from Daisy whilst he trains for a triathlon. Despite not getting along initially, the two soon develop a strong friendship which is put to the test when Ben has to return home. Will they realise their true feelings? This was a nice quick read that I really enjoyed.

A summer of second chances is a lovely book when you want to escape reality. This is my first book by Suzanne Snow and I will be searching out her others. Daisy and Ben met accidently when he falls of his bike outside her house. He rents the cottage in her back garden and so the story begins. It's a story of opposites attract and how their relationship builds. A great summer read with great characters and descriptions of beautiful scenery, where you can imagine being part of. A relaxing read, another enjoyable offering by Suzanne Snow. The 2 main characters grew on me quite quickly, as we got to know them and their past. They were pulled together by some quirky sub characters, and as expected after many twists, turns and revelations, happiness prevailed. A good read for a sunny day in the garden.

This book by Suzanne Snow is a wonderful romantic read with great characters, with a superb setting. Thank you Suzanne.

I adored this book! The first I’ve read by this author and now I’m desperate to read the others in the series. I loved the setting, the characters, it was just beautifully written. Daisy and Ben’s love story had me going from laughter to tears frequently and I finished the book with the biggest smile on my face, it was just a perfect story. Highly recommend.

Escapism at high level, the perfect book when you want to escape reality.
A heartwarming and sweet story, likable and fleshed out characters, lovely setting.
Recommended.

One of my favorite words in the entire world is serendipity. And while the word doesn’t appear in this book, it’s meaning – the idea that luck and good fortune sometimes go hand in hand – is at the very heart of this book.

Daisy is a single mom, soon-to-be empty nester, who is stuck in a bit of a rut. She spends her days keeping the books for her clients, volunteering, and taking care of her son. But when she is witness to a biking accident in front of her house, she soon finds herself with a new tenant for her garden cottage…and a chance at love and the kind of life she’s always wanted.

This is book three in the Welcome to Thorndale series, but honestly, I had no idea it wasn’t a stand alone until after I read it. I’m excited to go and see what other stories this little town has to offer.

What I Liked:
Daisy is such a likable character. She’s got a bit of life under her belt and she’s not afraid to be direct. I like that she’s not a push-over.

And I really love how the author was able to create such a warm, close-knit, small town. The characters were distinct and memorable. This is the kind of story that was made for a Hallmark movie with a beautiful set, a garden that just screams romance, and of course, plenty of chemistry between Daisy and Ben!

What I Wish Had Been Different:
While I liked the banter back and forth between Daisy and Ben, it got a little repetitive. They miscommunicate, they have a bit of a snippy confrontation, then they both apologize. I think I would have preferred for that to change up a bit. Maybe a bigger argument or a bit more lingering tension before the apology?

For the happily-ever-after ending, it’s nod to the importance of mental health, and a main character who isn’t a 20-something size-2 in need of rescuing, this book earns a solid 4 stars.

I enjoyed this book, the characters were enjoyable as was the story and it was a nice easy read. The book cover is lovely aswell
