Review This could have been a really cute story but I had a hard time with both of the main characters. Both were going through a hard time but were so horrible to each other. They said things then shut the door on the other person. They never gave the other a chance to explain anythings. I was very frustrated with both of them through out the book.

In addition, I had to look up a lot of the words and phrases that I didn't understand. The book is set in the Yorkshire Dales and uses a lot of British phrases.

Thank you to NetGalley for providing me a copy of this book to review

I just loved this gorgeous book! I found Daisy such a relatable, empathetic character. She and her son are staying at her parent's home, while they are away. She has just sold her home and is looking for another. She's at a crossroads of her life . Having had her son at 18, she had to reevaluate her life and aspirations. Now ,as he prepares to head off to college , Daisy is emotional and vulnerable when Ben, literally crashes into her life, as he takes a tumble from his back. On sabbatical from his job in New York, he has arrived in the village to prepare for triathlon. Discovering, Daisy has a holiday cottage to let, he rents it for a few weeks. Handsome, emotionally aloof man; prickly , independent ,single lady; we have all the ingredients for a delicious romantic romp. Very much the Mr Darcy and Elizabeth Bennett for our times. I loved it.

A Summer of Second Chances is a feel good, cosy romance which is a perfect pick me up. I really enjoyed reading this book.

Daisy comes across Ben not far from her home and helps him after he crashes his bike. Ben is very standoffish with her and doesn't welcome her help but Daisy can't help herself and insists on helping, despite him pushing her away repeatedly. There's an attraction between the two and while Daily is brave enough to want to explore it, Ben shuts her away because of his issues. They gradually get to know each other, and in doing so start to face their own inner demons.

I loved both Daisy and Ben. They were complex yet relatable characters and I thought the secondary characters in the book were really well placed.

Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for an early review copy.

Daisy loves having a routine to her day, her daily routine is - goes to work, makes dinner for her son, then loses herself for an hour or two in her sewing. But she doesn’t want to change this, that is until, Ben crashes, quite literally, into her life.

He is in training, for a triathlon, working, so that I’d be pushes himself, he can try to forget what happened, what he saw recently.

But, Daisy, wants to help him, every time they come closer, Ben, not wanting things to get serious, pushes her away.

So, will Ben be able to love again? Can they both have a future, with Daisy living in Yorkshire and Ben in New York?

So the cover of this book was so cute and I was very excited to read it.

I really liked the character of Daisy. I related to her because she was a people pleaser. She was such a good person and that's what made me not like Ben. She was constantly putting herself out there and Ben was always shooting her down. And I get that later he tells her that he was trying to push her away, but it just rubbed me the wrong way. I know I personally wouldn't have just given up on the guy. He wasn't giving her any signs that he liked her than all the sudden he was in love with her? That seemed out of the blue.

I did like Edwin a lot. And learning about Daisy's background with the farm. Ben did have a good relationship with Edwin and I did think that brought him and Daisy closer together.

And Ben did have mental health issues, which I love to see normalized in books. He was getting help which is very good. But still he wasn't treating Daisy okay in my opinion.

But Thorndale sounded like a fun place to live! This is the third book in a series about it.

This was a cute book. It was a quick read and had all the makings of a Hallmark movie in book form. The characters were easy to love, and Thorndale was inviting. I would love to spend a summer there in the cottage! Enjoyable read!

Daisy and Ben meet when he crashes his bike and she helps him. He does not seem very grateful and she thinks that is the last she has seen of him, but then he turns up wanting to rent the holiday cottage behind her house while he trains for a triathlon.
He is hot and cold and she doesn't know where she stands, so will they ever be more the freinds or even that? and what will happen when it is time for him to return to New York where his real life is?

I was glad there was an epilogue. it would have been nice to see something from ben's point of view.

Thanks Netgalley and the Publisher. This is a nice, easy read, with a good storyline and nice characters. Even though not normally the type of book I read I liked it.

Suzanne writes with ease and you immediately feel like you are actually there. It's pure escapism with beautifully described scenery and locations.

This is such a wonderful and uplifting read that is perfect to cosy up with and I loved it from beginning to end.

A Summer of Second Chances by Suzanne Snow is a wonderful and entertaining contemporary romance that I truly enjoyed.

This is the first book that I have read from this author, and I will most certainly be reading more from her in the future. I loved the full cast of characters. Daisy and Ben are (to me) opposites, and opposites attract, right?

The narrative is so relaxing, fun, and enjoyable. I loved seeing the relationship progression and interactions between Daisy and Ben. They seem to have chemistry and end up bringing out the best in one another as they both work through their situations and hang-ups. Both are likable and realistic and I liked the changes that I saw in them.

I also loved the locale. What is not to love about the Yorkshire Dales? Picturesque an the author's ability to describe this heaven on earth onto paper was wonderful.

I loved this book, the characters, and the ending. I am looking forward to finding more from this author.

5/5 stars

Ben and Daisy are, on paper, opposites. But opposites attract.......right? A fun and funny book about Daisys structured life taking a series of unexpected turns as Ben explodes into it. It’s a gentle and kind book and all the more enjoyable because if that. A perfect summer read
