I wanted to like this book. The tone was quippy, and though we're dropped literally into the story amid a group of people we don't know but like we're expected to know about, it was a nice follow along. Until the message about weight and body image started to get too loud, and not in a good way. It was like harping a point too much, where it ends up being anything but empowering.
This had potential, but the author might've tried a bit too hard in some places

A nice light and easy read, it was enjoyable but I think other than our main character, there wasn’t much personality involved for the other characters which made it harder to relate and would have liked a bit more development to the supporting cast

This was an easy fun read with a nice message basically about loving yourself but I liked the title and the cover more than I liked the book itself, to be honest. I think this basically boiled down to not liking the voice of the narrator / the tone of the book. Difficult to describe why exactly. It just didn't hook me in the way that some books do.

This was a light fun read but not without its flaws!

The story followed Jess who learns to look in the mirror and be happy with who she is. The story showed strong bonds between her family forming and provided heartwarming messages.

This was a fun read that I did enjoy. The writing was readable and funny at times. However there were some things that I didn't like. The side characters only existed for the sake of it and didn't have any personality whatsoever. I found that cooking was a very small aspect of this book and could have been emphasised a bit more.

Also we were never told why Matt was being nice to Jess and leading her on only to dump her for Zara? There was no reasoning provided behind his decisions.

Other than that, this was a enjoyable read. I would recommend giving it a go!
