I truly love this series. Dennard is a fantastic writer and weaves an incredible story with her words.
This was action packed and it is lovely to have the girls back together again.

This was just the sampler but i have since read and enjoyed the full version. Can't wait for the next one.

I loved every minute of this. I love how the world is broadening even more, all the strands very intricately weaving together. Can't wait for the next one!
I do wish I'd reread Bloodwitch before this though as I think it would've helped me dive deeper into the world earlier - took me a few chapters this time.

This book take some time jump from the end previous book. So the beginning of book feel slower and filling with so many jumping information to fill us about what happening in those gap time. The constant flip flop between timeline make it extra efforts too for me.

I love well written fantasy world building and I think author delivery it well. She make good development in her characters expecially the main role. I enjoy the banter and plotline even though feel little bit slow. Some scenes are precious and make me sitting in age, some action make me flies through the pages. I hope extra of this.

So far I enjoy the book and will search another works from the author. Sorry it is take time to me to finished the book because I need starting from 1st book before starting this precious copy.

Thank you Netgalley and Pan Macmillan, Tor for provided my copy, the opinion is my own.

I went into this book with pretty high expectations as I've been enjoying the previous books in this series more and more as the series has progressed. I hadn't seen any bad or not as positive reviews when I started this so I wasn't really intimidated by the book.

One of my favourite things about this book is how much we can see Iseult has grown since the beginning of the series; she's more confident, she understands what she can and can't do and she's a brilliant role model for Owl. I didn't enjoy the lack of Aeduan in this book (especially seeing as he's my favourite character) but we did still get some Aeduan content. I did wish we had some more of Merik but with the way his path is moving, it wouldn't make sense for a huge amount of his character. However I would happily trade Safi as she's definitely my least favourite character. I'm not sure what it is about her but I've just never been able to gel with her character, although this was the first book in the series where I didn't want to skip her chapters, so there is clearly some character development there.

This book as a significant gap in the timeline from the end of the previous book, Bloodwitch, and because of that, the first fifty to one hundred pages are a little confusing as there is a constant back and forth between the current timeline and filling us in on that gap in the timeline. that's my only real criticism of the book though as I thought the rest of the book flowed really well. Susan Dennard's worldbuilding is just so beautiful and is never rushed, and while it's slow, I can never find it boring. the action scenes always have me hooked and just wanting more, to the point I read this entire book in a day and never wanted it to end.

Since reading this I have seen quite a few people say they were disappointed in this book, however for me I think it was the best in the series so far, and has been the only one that has got a 5 star to date.

4.5 The beginning of this book is definitely slower than the beginning of other books in the series, and to me it's clear this is a "middle book" bridging between where we were in Bloodwitch and were we need to be for the final book. The picture and the plot has gotten so much bigger since Truthwitch, but this has been done expertly by Dennard. No stone unturned and nothing sprung upon us, if you have a question, it will be answered. Also this was cut in such a cliff-hanger place and left me with so much suspense. I feel very glad to have the rest of the book to hand already.

I also love the character development that is starting to happen in this book, the characters have been developing during the whole series, but to me this is one of the first books where it is completely noticeable that these are different people to those we met in Truthwitch.

Thank you to NetGalley for providing me with an eArc in exchange for an honest review.

Witchshadow was my most anticipated book of the year and it did not disappoint! I am a huge fan of the Witchland series and my favourite character is Iseult so I was very eager to get my hands on this book.

I loved everything about this book. Iseult's journey was absolutely fantastic (and heartbreaking at times). I enjoyed every single point of view so much! I feel like we got so many reveals in this book, I had to keep turning pages!

Next book can't come soon enough!

💚✨BOOK REVIEW✨💚

Witch shadow is book four of a fantasy series by Susan Dennard. It has great potential but I feel my enjoyment of it was hampered by not having read the first three books (I didn’t realise it was a series!) and by the messy way the ebook proof was presented. However, I was hooked enough to want to give the whole series a try and will be excited to start the series again this summer from book one!

This sampler was absolutely everything! I'm so excited to carry on with the rest of the book, I definitely think this will be my favourite of the series so far.

Witchshadow is full of drama, reveals and action.

This book focuses on the character Iseuits the thread/ Void witch. Iseult has changed a lot since Truthwitch. She has become a darker character. But I like that Susan hasn't made her too dark. There is a good reason for why Iseult is doing what she is doing. These reasons are shown with her interaction with the characters she cares for, and her belief in Aeduan coming back to her.

There are flashbacks in Witchshadow which shows how Iseult and Safi end up in their current situation. I liked how this was done as it interesting fining out what happened while keeping a fast pace in the story.

The POV that surprised me is Vivia, as she deals with getting her throne back from her father. I especially loved a section towards the end where you see her magic in all its glory.

Overall I loved this book, I love Susan Dennard storytelling and her ability to bring characters to life and make them loveable. Even when they have faults(some have more issues than others.)

My rating for Witchshadow is 5 out of 5.

I received a sampler from NetGalley for Witchshadow and I’m definitely intrigued. Dennard’s writing is, again, charming and descriptive, bringing the pages to life right from the start. I feel like I’ll need to familiarise myself with the series again before delving into this on its release date but she’s pulled me in again :)

This series is a must for all fantasy fans. The world Susan created in Truth witch continues to get better and better. A future classic!
