This was a good first volume to a new series. I haven’t read a vampire manga in what seems like forever! I do like the concept of the vampires basically worshipping the honey-bloods. It adds a new dynamic to the same old lore that we know. The two main characters have good chemistry and it almost has mystery to it because you get a vibe that Ryotaro has a hidden agenda. I’m interested to read the next volume.

In a world where vampires (bloodsuckers) and humans (pabulum) live side by side, Kagari Tojyoo is a human princess born with irresistible blood that is known as honey-blood. Because her blood can make any vampire go into a crazed frenzy she has a vampire SP, Ryotaro.
Because she was raised as a pampered princess, Kagari wants to become more independent. Ryotaro on the other hand is a pretty standard cocky male lead. It is obvious that Kagari has deeper feelings for Ryotaro and he has feelings for but because of multiple reasons, he can't act on those feelings.
Honestly, The Honey-blood Beauty and Her Vampire isn't really doing anything different from other vampire-themed books don't expect much story-wise.
If you want something a light and a little edgy I definitely recommend it.

Kagari Tojyo is smart and beautiful... but what really draws a crowd is her rare "honey blood" -- a crowd of vampires, that is! Enter Ryotaro, her bodyguard and a vampire himself... with quite the perverted, sadistic streak! What's Kagari got to do to have a "normal" life?- Goodreads
The first chapter of this novel really didn't draw me in but as I kept reading I thought okay. . . this could be a decent series. I like Ryotaro. However, to describe as sadistic or even perverted isn't actually accurate. He is loyal and goofy. I liked him and would continue reading because of him.
I thought the back and forth Kagari does in regards to her feelings for him is overkill. But Ryotaro makes up for that. Short review but I think that this will be a good read.
Overall, 3 Pickles.

2.5*
The story is set in a world where humans and vampires coexist. There are rare humans who have such sweet blood that it drives vampires mad with thirst. So each of these honey-bloods has a vampire assigned to them for protection. We follow a honey-blood Kagari and her SP, Ryotaro. And honestly, that is all there is to the plot of this. Some annoying dude shows up and stirs things up and that is pretty much it lol. Kagari is insufferable, my least favorite type of heroine to read about. It's like she can't even breathe on her own. No,thank you. Ryotaro is just plain weird and I didn't like him either. He does many questionable things without her consent which made me angry. The arstyle is nice, and that's about it.
Thank you to Netgalley for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Yeah, - so I have no idea what I think about this. I ended up re-reading pages but while the plot isn’t confusing it’s also is. It’s difficult to explain, the world building seems to weirdly drag, and I don’t really know what genre this is supposed to be in. Horror? Paranormal romance? Smutty romance? Is there supposed to be a dark undertone with layers on intrigued or is this supposed to be a back and forth between Kagari and Ryotaro until the inevitable romance?
Maybe the next volume will clear things up.

We follow a human Kagari who is a rare honey-blood, someone who’s blood is extremely delicious to vampires and causes them to go into a frenzy. Because of that, she has a vampire bodyguard, Ryotaro.
Their relationship is hilarious. It’s obvious they both care for each other as more than friends but Ryotaro refuses to cross the line between them. His banter and the way he reacts to other people wanting Kagari is possessive but humorous too. I can see how some people might have issues with how he goes about things but I like those annoying, alpha types in fiction so he was great.
Kagari herself was stubborn to a point that could be dangerous but she did it to push Ryotaro. I’m interested to see what else she does to try and make him cross that line with her! I wish we had gotten more information on her background and why she’s a princess and everything to do with that. But this was a good set up and introductory volume!
THE ENDING!! This ends on a cliffhanger and I know I’m going to be chomping at the bit to get volume 2! Definitely a series I will be continuing with in the future.

TW: violence, blood, death, assault, sexual assault/harassment.

Even though the premise was new and interesting but there isn’t much going on. Humans and vampires live side by side. There are special humans whose blood is much sweeter for vampires these are called honey-blood. These humans are protected by specially trained vampires called SP. the story follows the life of kagura and her SP, Ryotaro who is aslo her child hood friend and crush. Follow along as Kagura tries to get Ryotaro to drink for her and admit that he is also in love with her.

This manga was an exciting read filled with vampires, romance and a heck load of tension!!
I enjoyed reading this one; I found the story easy to follow, which I always look for with manga. The dialogue and illustrations were both fantastic and easy to read and follow. I liked the plot and the characters and can't wait to follow them again in volume two, especially with the cliff-hanger ending.
Overall I found this read to be entertaining and made me smile. I can't wait to read volume two and see what happens with the rest of the story.

The Manga follows "honey blood" Kagari, a human with exceptional tasting blood, and her vampire body guard, Ryotaro. Kagari is spoiled, but resents the implication that she can't live without Ryotaro, and Ryotaro thrives on making sure Kagari knows she needs to depend on him, not just for her safety, but for her general happiness as well. Overall, the dynamic between the two is probably the best thing about the manga.
Set in highschool, the stories sets up a potentially nefarious plot in which someone is trying to start a feud between vampires and humans. There is not a particularly large cast of characters in this manga as it mostly focuses on Kagari and Ryotaro, with a third character in the mix who is attempting to be a love interest to Kagari. I personally feel that the third character, potential love interest, was introduced a little too early in the story in that the story hadn't been established enough yet for him to come in and disrupt the "status quo."

There is a full length review forthcoming on my site, MangaLibrarian.com and on my YouTube Channel! I go in depth on my analysis there.

Ok, this was fun! This could have went one of two ways for me— and I’m so happy it went the right way! I wasn’t entirely sure if I was going to enjoy this and appreciate its full potential. The Vampire Knight manga series was released during my teens and I devoured (heh) that series. But I’m happy to say that that part of me will probably never tire of vampires. Which can only mean one thing... I LOVED this.
It was fun and quirky and it had just enough hints of love between hero and heroin (even if they weren’t actually meaning to show how much they care for the other) that I’m SO looking forward to book three! And of course we wouldn’t be complete without the second love interest, who we aren’t really interested in, but it’s fun all the same. I can already tell the introduction of this third person is going to shaken up the main relationship dynamic and I am here for it!
The vampire politics wasn’t entirely originally but still cool. I look forward to hopefully learning more about it in later books.
We definitely have the push and pull between the main characters that you would expect to see in a vampire/human relationship and the bickering was honestly kind of funny!
Overalls so fun and already have vol 2 on my radar!

I went into this title with high hopes, since I love paranormal things, especially when they involve Vampires.
This one didn't work out as well as I hoped it would. The story felt a little clunky, and the pacing didn't quite work for me. Also, I am surprised at the "interloper" being introduced so early, unless this is a really short series.
I want to give the next volume a try, but I am on the fence about this one for now.

This had such "Vampire Knight" vibes! In a world with vampires, there are those among humans who have special "honey blood" that has particularly strong pheromones that make vampires turn vicious. In order to combat this, those who have honey blood are given an SP, a special bodyguard. The story follows Kagari, who is one of these humans with honey blood, and her SP, Ryotaro. In the school setting, the two face a variety of different threats, but the biggest challenge Kagari faces is how to get Ryotaro to treat her not as his master but as someone she likes! The lines between duties and their feelings definitely causes tension for the pair, especially as a potential rival steps into the story.
With an ending that is quite the cliffhanger, I'm excited to see what happens next!

3.5
This was a really interesting set up. I'm definitely curious enough to continue reading the series. I really enjoyed the ploting overall and the character stories being laid out. It's an interesting world.

This is a difficult review to write because to be honest I felt very confused throughout this manga. I understood the general idea of the plotline but the actual plotline felt like I was missing something. Like this volume was actually a later edition further down the track and not volume 1. Because of this, I felt it very difficult to really get hooked into the story or feel anything towards the characters.
That being said, I really enjoy the different take on stories that manga/comics has over the typical written novels. They say "a picture says a thousand words" and it's refreshing to visually see the author's perspective of the story over the many different ways a reader could imagine it, and for that reason I've given this story two stars.
Disclaimer: Thank you to Kodansha Comics and Netgalley for the arc in exchange for an honest review.

There wasn’t really anything I liked about this manga. It felt like an excuse to sexualize teenagers. I can’t think of anyone I’d recommend it to.
Thank you to NetGalley and Kodansha for providing me with a copy of this volume for my unbiased review!

Kagari Tojyo is a beautiful, sarcastic, and smart woman who has a special characteristic; her honey-blood. This type of blood attacks vampires, even from a single drop of blood. With her bodyguard, Ryotaro, a perverted and sadistic vampire at her side, this story will keep you laughing and the pages turning.
This manga had me laughing out loud. The banter between Kagari Tojyo and her bodyguard Ryotaro is *chefs kiss*. There's something about two hard-headed characters that make a story that much more enjoyable. The story reminded me a lot of Twilight and the Vampire Knight Manga (a huge favorite of mine). This manga style is something I always love to dive into and getting caught up in this story between Tojyo and Ryotaro was a masterpiece. The antics were entertaining and the banter between these two left me wanting more. By the end of this manga, I wanted to know what happens next.
To sum this up, I will be waiting anxiously for the next volume release to see the story develop!

This book was pure nostalgia and I loved every second of it! This story lives in the same vein as Twilight and the Vampire Knight Manga (that I read way back when and remember fondly). I want more of these stories in manga form. The heroine was spoiled but her antics were silly and entertaining. The hero was interesting with a weird sense of humor at times. The end took me totally by surprise and I really, really, really want to know what happens next!

Thank you Netgalley for letting me read this book in return for an honest review.
Rating: 2.5⭐
This manga is about a honey-blood where her blood is pretty much irresistible to vampires and because of this, she has a bodyguard. Who is also a vampire. The banter wasn't too bad but I wasn't too fond of the art style and I couldn't keep my interest which is a shame because I liked the premise.
Would I Read It Again? No
Would I Recommend it? Not sure

Thank you to NetGalley, Toma Fuyuori, and Kodansha Comics for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.
Like: A more original way of using vampires in a story.
Dislike: That the main female character is pretty much helpless and can't do anything on her own, not even baking...
In this world, there has been a lot of conflict between vampires and humans, as well as people with special blood. These conflicts have mostly been resolved and regulated through laws and authority. Kagari is a honey-blood, a human with extraordinarily sweet-tasting, delicious blood which often triggers other vampires to attach. Going to school with other vampires can certainly be a challenge, but that is why honey-bloods get assigned a species protector, namely another vampire. Ryotaro has been with Kagari since childhood, but his feelings may fall in the way of his duties as a protector. When another honey-blood comes along seeking Kagari's hand in marriage, a deadly rivalry is born, and Ryotaro finds he might not be able to control himself.
I love the art in this manga. While I am not a huge fan of Kagari as a character, Ryotaro is very interesting and I'd like to see how far his ambitious feelings will take him. I think the honey-blood aspect is similar to instances of vampire telling's in the past, though twisted in a bit of a different way. This take on a vampire comingling with human society was unique enough for it to be rather interesting, and the blooming romantic conflict is certainly one for paranormal romance fans.
