Loved the three different stories about one wedding dress! I am honestly not sure which of the three is my favourite story. The last one might just take it. I will absolutely be recommending this book.

I love the way Dani Atkins writes. From the very start of her books I am hooked and have to keep reading until I get to the end. This book was slightly different in that it was three stories with the wedding dress as the common factor. But as always, the style of writing and the emotions it brought, kept me hooked from start to finish.
Each story was great and left me wanting a whole book dedicated to it, rather than just being short stories.
Written really well, the characters were interesting and credible.
Really enjoyed reading this book. 4.5 stars
My thanks to NetGalley and the publishers for the opportunity to read this, in exchange for an honest review

“The Wedding Dress” follows three women, Suzanne, Bella and Mandy who don’t know each other but they’re connected through the same wedding dress.

I feel that if the author has turned each of the short stories into separate books, I would love them. Because in this book they felt rushed and too forced, not emotional, just like I was expecting from Dani Atkins. It was not a bad book, as the author is a great story teller and she can beautifully write, but I simply felt underwhelmed at the end, somehow cheated. However, it was a thought – provoking book, perfect for book clubs, as there are for sure some topics that need to be discussed with more people! And standing ovation to the author for touching upon some complex and difficult issues and treating them with respect, gentleness, warmth and sensitivity.

I liked Bella’s story best, she was the most likeable character in the book, a character that felt genuine. The first one is about Suzanne and Darrell, happily engaged and about to get married, but then Suzanne starts to get some mysterious notes about her fiance. I’m truly sorry, but I never felt tension and the characters were so wooden that I couldn’t care less what’s going to happen with them. The conclusion was also far from perfect, I mean – I don’t want to spoil the reading for you! – you could easily find another way to contact the bride, right? And the last one was so obvious and the characters there so stereotyped that I simply couldn’t read it.

It didn’t feel like a Dani Atkins book. I was disappointed with this read, it didn’t keep my interest and I found the stories too much overdone, on every level, too exaggerated and they didn’t feel natural. The last of the stories was so politically correct that I couldn’t take any more and simply skim – read it and the bits that I’ve read only annoyed me. The other disappointment was the dress itself, I was really hoping for a brilliant, funny and captivating story with a dress at its centre, connecting the characters somehow, but sadly, nothing of this sort appeared in the book. Those were three short stories that featured the same wedding dress and that was all. Maybe I was not in the right mood for this book, but I couldn’t connect with the characters as well, they felt unrealistic and overdrawn and it was Bella and her story that saved the book – though it was also so predictable that it made me hurt. Sadly, not my favourite read by this author.

This was an engaging read of three different women and the one wedding dress that links them all.
I liked the 3 different story lines and felt the writer wrote about female friendships and love in a warm and emotional way.
I felt it was an easy, quick read for those who are looking for stories about love and it’s many guises.
Would recommend as a sensitive and lovely read.

The wedding dress by Dani Atkins is 3 short stories about love. The one thing each story has in common is the wedding dress.
I did not love this book, I wasn’t expecting it to be three short stories and that is my fault for not reading the blurb properly.
The first story for me was not really a love story it was more of a thriller. The fiancé is leading two seperate lives and a stalker is trying to warn you not to marry him. The romance in this story is squeezed into the last few pages.
The second story was by far my favourite. A tragic accident brings two strangers together who eventually fall in love. I loved the characters in this story they were really relatable and I was hoping they would get together.
The last story was sweet as two ladies in there 70’s get married even though there is strong opinions from family.

I have read this Author before and I have really enjoyed her books, unfortunately this book did not work for me.

The Wedding Dress by Dani Atkins another book I was lucky to read through NetGalley. The book is in three parts, for three different characters Suzanne, Bella and Mandy, all connected by one wedding dress and for many different reasons. The characters are strangers to one another. I don’t want to say to much, as I didn’t read what this book was about before hand, I picked it because I liked the author but not knowing anything about this book was part of the pleasure because it enabled the surprises to unfold without any preconceived ideas. For me personally I enjoyed Bella’s story the most, through this part of the book I couldn’t put it down. Unusually for half way through a book, after finishing this part I felt like I had a book hangover and had to wait to digest what had happen before starting Mandy’s story. The concept of the book is great, in that this one wedding dressing connect these three strangers, three strangers with three different stories and three different outcomes. All three woman have a strength to them and are brave in the decisions they make it the things they go through. You as the reader will feel every emotion and may even need the tissues at the ready. This isn’t the best Dani Atkins book I’ve read however I would recommend it, very glad I picked it to read and it will definitely get me reaching for the other Dani Atkins books I have on my TBR pile.

The Wedding Dress follows three women, Suzanne, Bella and Mandy. All of these women's lives interconnected with one alluring wedding dress.

The writing shares a wonderful warmth with a heart-warming and uplifting feel. There are complex and difficult themes that are explored throughout and dealt with great sensitivity. I liked the link of the wedding dress bringing all of the characters together without actually meeting and the small hints given. As a avid Dani Atkins reader, all three stories gave me the Deja-vu feeling of previous books; it didn't feel completely unique or emotional as I have felt with her other books, I felt slightly underwhelmed when I finished. Normally I am bawling afterwards! I enjoyed Bella's chapter in particular, I was hooked by the suspense and her dialogue. I loved the nod to Sophie and Ben, that brought back fond memories!

Thank you to NetGalley, Head of Zeus and author, Dani Atkins for an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

I absolutely ADORED all three of these stories!!

The three women who feature in this book are all very different and their stories about how they came to be wearing the same dress are very different too but I loved them all.

Suzanne with her fiance who has a hidden side, Bella who goes through a heck of a trauma but comes through the other side and Amanda whose story is unusual but very special.

The author of this book is clearly adept at weaving strands and making sure they come together in the best possible way. There is drama, there are tears - both happy and sad. I was feeling all the emotions as well. I can't say enough good things about this book :)

5 stars from me.

Thank you to NetGalley and Head of Zeus.

Happy publication day to Dani Atkins with her latest novel The Wedding Dress 🥂👰💐

Now this one is so different to her last novels I had to check it was a Dani Atkins novel! The book is split into three sections and tells us the story of three seperate brides wearing the same wedding dress.

In the first part we meet Suzanne and Darrell, love at first sight and happily engaged until some mysterious notes start appearing from an unknown person!

Next we meet Bella, who goes on her best friends hen do at a theme park but little did she know her life will never be the same again!

We end with Mandy and her Gran, the relationship between the two of them is beautiful! Gran falls in love and Mandy helps plan her wedding day.

This book certainly brought up some discussion points! I found in every part there was sexism and blatent ignorance from some characters. Now whether this has been intentional to raise awareness is unclear to me- maybe stereotypes were used to elaborate the story?

The stories were a nice easy read but I did want to bring our 21st century notions/principles/ideas in to this to make it even better. For example why do you need to be married to someone to be part of the family these days? Do men get told after a life changing accident that its ok because they can still have children or is just something told to females assuming we all want to have children? Why wouldn't you support your parent finding love? It infuriated me so much!

Overall this is my least favourite of Dani's novels, I didn't connect to any of the characters and found it a little far fetched! That being said it's a nice quick easy read, it's well paced and may be a good one to try to get out of a reading slump as it's broken up into sections. I still look forward to new Dani Atkins books to come, she will still be one of my go to authors as her stories are beautifully told and tug on your heartstrings.

This is completely adorable. Loved the 3 parts with 3 very different stories with one wedding dress linking all 3. I can't honestly say I have a preference, I was gutted when all 3 ended but then equally engrossed when 2 and 3 started. Great stories that champion diversity, but are also relatable and heart felt.

This felt very different from anything that I'd read by Dani Atkins before but very much her usual style as the same time.
The book was about a wedding dress and the journey it went on. It was split into 3 separate stories, 3 very different stories, about 3 brides who each wore the dress.
I loved each brides story and even though they were technically novellas I also loved the way they together made a whole novel.
This was a very sweet and charming book and made for a very addictive read.

A beautiful story which took me through all the emotions. I loved how we learnt about the three different women and how the one dress tied their dreams together. All very different stories but beautifully written and full of love and warmth.

This is the first I’ve read from this author but it definitely won’t be the last. This is a collection of 3 novellas which all have a link to ‘The Wedding Dress’. My favourite was ‘Bella’ but I loved all 3 of the stories. Each story takes you on an emotional journey and you really feel for the main characters in each. I definitely cried a few times. I’m not off to download Dani’s back catalogue!

Such a delightful book, I’ve read every book of the authors and feel this is nearly up there with my favourites ‘Fractured’ and her other novella ‘Perfect Strangers’. This is essentially a book of three novellas in which each story is linked through wedding dress. Each story is centred around one main character, 1st is Suzanne, could she be marrying the wrong man? (I ‘got’ the reference of Sophie and Ben). 2nd is Bella’s story, this reminded me very much of the authors first book ‘Fractured’. Not sure why as they are totally different storyline’s but maybe is was Bella’s relationship with her father. 3rd is Mandy’s story…..but not hers alone. She realises the courage it takes to be true to your feelings.
Wonderful escapism and quick to read.

What a beautifully told story this is which absolutely shows yet again what a creative and emotive author Dani Atkins is.

The wedding dress is the story of one perfect dress, originally from an upmarket boutique which is told by the families of three brides who get to wear it, all with their own stories to tell. Firstly we meet Suzanne who is about to marry the man of her dreams. We soon find out that he is not what he seems to be and sadly the wedding dress is not needed. Next we meet bridesmaid Bella, who is celebrating her best friends hen party at a theme park when an accident on a roller coaster changes her life. She may not get to wear her bridesmaids dress but the wedding dress will be used unexpectedly and to a tearful audience. Lastly we meet Mandy, granddaughter of our final bride Amanda, who has found someone special again late in life and the dress brings the family together despite initial reactions.

The characters in all three stories are loosely bound together as they meet in opportune fashion, just as it seems that they or the dress is needed. The stories and characters are brought to life and I was laughing, cheering and crying through all, hoping for the happy ending that they all richly deserved.

The book focuses on heartbreak, love, deception, life changing injury and even same sex relationships. All are dealt with very carefully and with great passion and understanding. I would highly recommend this book to anyone and will be very pleased to add it to my collection of books by this amazing author as one of the best she has written.

Thank you to Netgalley, the publisher and the author for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

This was a very unexpected story to what I was expecting. There are three parts to this book, each story is different and involves the wedding dress. It is written very well and I did enjoy reading about each character and how they came to have the dress. Although it was not what I was expecting , I was pleasantly surprised and really enjoyed reading this.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.

I’d like to thank Head of Zeus and NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read ‘The Wedding Dress’ by Dani Atkins in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.

Suzanne is marrying Darrell but just before the ceremony is due to commence that she receives a visit that changes all their plans. Bella’s friend Sasha is getting married and takes the bridesmaids to a theme park for the day. There’s a terrible accident on the roller-coaster and Bella’s life dramatically changes. Mandy’s widowed grandmother Amanda lives at Sunnymede, an luxury apartments for the elderly, and confides in Mandy that she’s unexpectedly fallen in love again. These are three women in different walks of life, but they all share one thing – their wedding dress!

What a captivating story Dani Atkins has written, one that’s so emotional it’s brought a lump to my throat and tears in my eyes. ‘The Wedding Dress’ has so many engaging characters, too many to mention them all by name, who I’ve had a strong rapport with and felt part of their lives. I was so desperate to know the outcome of the final story that I read till midnight then continued at 6.30 this morning until I’d reached the perfect ending and the final destination of the wedding dress. This has been beautifully written and thoroughly enjoyable story to read and I have no hesitation in recommending it.

Thanks to netgalley for the chance to read this book.

Another brilliant book from Dani.

The books takes us on a journey of a bridal dress. The first bride Suzanne cancels her wedding at the last moment after finding out her husband is still married, The second bride Bella finds herself in a wheelchair after a freak car accident in her friends hen night. And the third bride Mandy finds her falling in love with someone who the majority of her family do not approve of. The book tells the stories of the three women who are wound together by one dress.

Three lovely stories all about one wedding dress. First story is about how sometimes you just don't know what is really going on. Suzanne after a whirlwind romance is getting married to the man of her dreams or so she thinks. I am not too sure about the second story it's a little too close to what really happened and maybe that is not the author story to tell. The third story is all about Mandy and her gran who has fallen in love but her family do not approve and Mandy sets out to give her gran the day of her dreams. Three moving and heartwarming stories we'll worth reading.
