There is a lot going on in this story and it is very compelling. Romance, suspense, intrigue…and there are many twists along the way.
Many thanks to Author Collective 20 and to NetGalley for providing me with a galley in exchange for my honest opinion.

"Desire And Deception" presents a gripping and morally complex tale of power, deception, and redemption. This contemporary novel delves into the life of Isabel Ramirez, a character whose journey takes her from a pampered princess in the shadowy world of a drug lord to the realm of academia, where her ambition and ruthlessness know no bounds.

Isabel's character is multifaceted and intriguing, with layers of complexity that keep readers engaged. Her pursuit of success in academia is tainted by her willingness to resort to deception and manipulation to secure her position. As the story unfolds, it becomes clear that Isabel's actions have far-reaching consequences, leading to moral dilemmas that force her to confront her choices.

Sean Richards, the graduate assistant entangled with Isabel, provides a compelling counterbalance to her character. His genuine love for Isabel and his desire to see her break free from her destructive past add depth to the narrative. Their complex relationship and the chemistry between them add an element of passion and tension to the story.

The plot is driven by a nosy colleague who begins to unravel the secrets and deceptions surrounding Isabel. This subplot introduces an element of suspense and intrigue, keeping readers guessing about the eventual outcome.

What sets this book apart is its exploration of redemption and the capacity for change. Isabel's internal struggle to reconcile her past actions with her desire to become a better person is a central theme. The moral questions raised throughout the story challenge readers to reflect on the choices we make and the potential for transformation.

"Desire And Deception" is a thought-provoking and emotionally charged novel that delves into the complexities of human nature, ambition, and the power of love. It offers a compelling narrative with well-drawn characters and a storyline that keeps readers engaged until the very end. Fans of contemporary fiction with a moral dilemma at its core will find this book both captivating and memorable.

Though, it did take me a WHILE, to read through the book. I could say, overall that the the book was pretty good! There were moments where I got a bit of Wattpad vibe, and things happened a bit quickly. I still do recommend to read this, cause maybe you will like it more than I did!
