This is a good, solid Cold War spy yarn with all the ingredients one expects from the genre - MI5, CIA, KGB, Mossad, intriguing characters, double agents and double crosses, former Nazis in senior positions with Western and Soviet intelligence organisations, etc. The storytelling has sufficient pace, complexity, depth, twists and turns to satisfy most readers although it does (perhaps inevitably) fall some way short of the classic spy novels by the likes of John Le Carre, Eric Ambler, Len Deighton, etc. Overall, I recommend this book to all lovers of a dramatic, absorbing story set in a fascinating period of global history.

A great spy novel with plenty of twists and turns to keep you on the edge of your seat. Would highly recommend this as a great holiday read.

I enjoyed reading this book. It started off a little slow and confusing but once I got the characters firmly in my mind it was smooth sailing. A classic spy novel like John LaCarre with a little Robert Ludlum thrown in

This story was a bit of a twisty rollercoaster and was difficult to put down! The author has evidently done their homework about the various agencies involved and the characters were engaging. As a WW2 buff I really enjoyed it!

A good Cold War spy novel with plenty of twists and turns in the plot. The characters are well developed and life like. The inner workings of the various spy agencies was very interesting to read about. Overall, a very good novel.

Thank you to #NetGalley for the ARC in exchange for my honest review.
