A delightfully funny rendition of Cinderella. I could imagine children laughing hysterically at all the mistakes the fairy godmother had made in transforming Cinderella. If I had children, I would 100% buy and read this book to them.

This was a cute take on Cinderella. It was a little wordy for a children's book but overall a good story.

I requested this book because, coincidentally, I was about to start a fairytale unit with my middle school students, and a unit on perspective with my high school students. I felt like this would fit both of those classes, and I was right!
This book is ADORABLE! I LOVE the hard-of-hearing fairy godmother who makes just the right mistakes; Cinder-Elephant and Prince Charging are the cutest couple EVER! The evil stepmother and sisters are wonderfully relegated to the very far background, just as they should be.
The illustrations are wonderful - I especially like the sister who wears ridiculous hats!
Seriously, this short and sweet book is perfect for so many situations - I could use it with almost any grade level and for so many different purposes.
Thank you!

What started out as a typical Cinderella tale, turned into a hilarious, light-hearted take on a classic tale. It was fun, funny, and was just the right about of carrying the heart of the Cinderella story with some unexpected twists! Would highly recommend for anyone looking to giggle!

1st Line: "There once was a girl called Cinderella."

Prose (Story): A retelling of Cinderella for kids 6+, in which a hard-of-hearing Fairy Godmother sends the poor but beautiful young girl to the prince's ball in the form of a full-grown elephant!

Don's (Review): Dropping 6/1, I read and fell in love with this kids (age 6 and up, though I was giddy as a six-year-old just reading it) book tonight; have already read it twice. Yes, I love elephants, but like me if you also remember "Fractured Fairy Tales" from your youth, this Twisted Fairy Tale - in both story and funny full-color illustrations - will take you back to those days and laughter of your childhood. Cinderella is a poor but beautiful, rather bedraggled young girl who, after the death of her father, is basically treated like a servant by her bad-tempered stepmother and two stepsisters. When they keep her from attending the ball the prince is throwing for the kingdom's maidens, Cinderella is visited by her fairy godmother ... whose ears happen to be clogged with fairy dust, making her mis-hear everything Cinderella says to the point that she sends the poor girl to the ball transformed into an elephant (!) - one who will have only until midnight to capture the prince's heart. Not sure what else to add, except GET THIS; I loved it so much, plus as of this writing the Kindle pre-order price is just a whopping 99 cents! (Available June 1) 5/5 stars

NOTE: I received a free ARC of this title from NetGalley and the publisher, in exchange for an honest review.

It's cute, but not enough for my taste. The only thing it added or is new to the story of Cinderella is that in this version, Cinderella becomes an elephant. I just wished this could've been explored more and not exactly follow the story of Cinderella or add something new to the mix. I can still see this being enjoyed by kids just because of the whole elephant aspect, but nothing more.

I'm a fan of Twisted Fairy Tales but I must admit that this one is not among my favorite renditions. In this retelling of Cinderella, poor old Cinderella has to deal with a hard-of-hearing fairy godmother and all goes hilariously wrong. The illustrations are cute but I can't get over how Prince Charming is illustrated.

Thank you NetGalley and Arcturus Publishing for the opportunity to read an advance reading copy.

This was a fun one. I read this with my kiddo and we both enjoyed it. Great reading for kids with a love of fairy tales and a sense of humor.

Oh, man! This is a laughing riot! The author hasn’t changed the story much except for the fairy godmother, who happens to have a teeny bit of a hearing problem. The coach becomes roach, slippers are flippers… you get the drift. The ending is super cute (nope, I’m not telling you).
Not all fairytale retellings are worth reading (even for kids), but this one sure is. There’s one illustration per page, and it’s done in delightful tones.
I don’t really have anything else to add. Go read this book. That’s it.
I received an ARC from NetGalley and Arcturus and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I have read both Twisted Fairy Tales and I get it but I feel like the author thinks kids aren’t as smart as they are. It took all the whimsy out of fairy tales and made it very slapstick. Not impressed.

This is a fun and interesting take on Cinderella. The pictures were cute and the story itself was funny. I see that there is a whole series twisting the fairy tales and I think my kids would enjoy them all.

“Cinder-Elephant” is a fun twisted tale based on the Cinderella story we all know and love. While there are other various mix-ups on fairy tales, I favor the other twisted tale books over “Cinder-Elephant” in this series. Overall, still a fun read kids would enjoy, only not my favorite.

A sincere thank you to NetGalley and Arcturus Publishing for providing me an advance copy (ARC) of this book in exchange for an honest review. I am grateful to have had the opportunity to read this story and leave my review voluntarily.

This is the Cinderella story I wish I had as a kid. It is hilarious and with such twists to an old classic that it keeps the reader hooked throughout the story. It is more relatable than the original Cinderella because of the characters being clumsy, making funny mistakes and much more. My younger sister loved it as well, and we both definitely want more books like these in the future.

I never pass up a chance to read a Cinderella retelling. This is an adorable retelling and I love the twist at the end. Always be yourself and never let others tell you what to do.

Cinderella is a story that I've been kind of meh about but I adored this rollicked by good natured tale.
Kids will love it!

I loved reading this one. It was very funny. Actually, I love the original part of the fairytale, but the one problematic part in it is that the prince doesn't recognize the princess without the dress and makeup?

What I liked about this book is that it changed that narrative. Prince isn't attracted to her dress and makeup and beauty, he is attracted to her fun-loving attitude! Also, this book is very funny. The illustrations are beautiful. It is a perfect fit for young girls and boys if you're thinking of introducing them to the fairy tale

This is a sweet and funny book with beautiful full color illustrations. I can't wait to share this story with my 5 year old daughter - she will love it!

This was not my favorite retelling of a classic. I suppose children would enjoy it, but I definitely wouldn’t have as a kid. I didn’t like the illustrations in it either.

Thank you so much to Arcturus and Netgalley for the ebook to read and review.

Oh my goodness this has to be my favourite retelling ever, this book was hilarious seriously hilarious. It follows the usual path of Cinderella but she’s a bit clumsier, then the fairy god mother cannot hear a thing and her spell goes completely ary and makes for this books hilarious title to come to fruition.

This book is the perfect book for kids, it’s beautifully illustrated, the story is easy to read, quick to get emerges into, short and sweet, hilarious and will keep you wanting to know how it’s going to actually end.

This is by far my all time favourite retelling I’ve read, I really loved this book.

I've never been too fond of Cinderella as a story, it's not the nicest message to send to little kids. This zany retelling though, I would be totally onboard with. Most kids aren't too coordinated, and tend to drop things and fall over. It's important to not terrify them about it, and this adorable little book does that in the nicest possible way. It's quite appealing to a child's sense of humour, and in the way Shrek does , it emphasizes that there isn't just one way to look and be, to be a prince and princess. It would need to be read aloud to a 3 year old, but makes perfect reading for a 4 year old, and is a nice gateway to reading books that aren't only picture books. More fairytales like this are always welcome.
