this was another cute fairy tale retelling, it had a great twist and I enjoyed reading this. This was a fun series and there hasn't been a weak story so far.

I loved this twisted interpretation of Puss in Boots! It stays pretty true to the original tale, but the substituted tricks that the octopus pulls off are a hoot! The illustrations add a lot to the fun, with chuckle-inducing details. This series is so much fun, I wish I'd had them when I was little!

I received an advance reader copy of this book to read in exchange for an honest review via netgalley and the publishers.

Octo-puss in Boots is another hilarious addition to this fun Twisted Fairy Tales series!
This book had me giggling away! I had to keep stopping while reading it to my little one as it was just so funny!
There is adult humour mixed in with children's and it is certainly a fun book for children and adults alike.
Sir Loin the Knight is retiring and has given his first two children his equipment but forgot about his third child. He gives him an octopus that was on his boot, but the octopus is no ordinary octopus and in a cinderella type way, turns the sons life around!
This is a puss in boots retelling but has cinderella rags to riches vibes mixed in.
A fun read all children will delight in!

Twisted Fairy Tales continues to be a series that makes me smile. These books are goofy twists on classic tales - this time? Puss in Boots, but add in 8 legs.

A talking octopus given as a throwaway gift? What a funny way to retell Puss in Boots! I was giggling and hee-hawing my way through the book. It's honestly delightful, with a splash of illustrations once every couple of pages.

I definitely recommend this book to those seeking a short read with pictures, AND want a dash of comedy and fairy tales. This book is a delight!

Three out of five stars.

Thank you to NetGalley and Arcturus Publishing for providing me a free copy of this book in exchange of an honest review.

These twisted fairy tales are so funny. This doesn’t have the adorable “just be yourself” lesson that Cinder-elephant had, but it is still really funny. Octopus in boots is going to help his new friend Angus gain his fame and fortune the best way he knows how: with his brains and 8 useful tentacles.

I received an ARC but my opinions are all mine.

A story of an octopus and a young boy. When father of boy retires he doesn't know what to give to boy. He gives him a octopus that he caught from the sea.
Then they set out on a adventure where they fight a dreaded criminal.
A wonderful artwork with a simple story to catch the attention of little readers. A wonderful book to gift to encourage little ones to read.

When his father retires, Young Angus’ siblings get the cool gifts of a sword and a lance. As usual, his father has forgotten about him, so when it’s Angus’ turn, he gets an Octopus. The wisecracking creature offers to help make Angus a fortune. All he wants in return are boots. Together this unlikely duo will have to defeat Gutrot the ogre and save the king.

I am a fan of these Twisted Fairy Tales. The illustrations are fun and there are plenty of plays on the classic tale of Puss in Boots. From an octopus in shoes to juggling competitions with an Ogre and literally spinning plates, this book has something for everyone. This one’s out now, and I look forward to more Twisted Fairy Tales.

Another charming story in the Twisted Fairy Tales suite, Octo-puss in Boots is loosely based on the original fable, with the Octopus in the starring role as the cunning, well-shod creature instead of the cat.

It's every bit as absurdly endearing as the rest of the books in the series, full of punny names (how can one go past Sir Loin of Beef and his son Angus, or and Sir Tenly Not?), and culminating in a marvellously ridiculous showdown between Angus and the ogre.

Thjs is quite possibly my favourite one of the series so far.

Suitable for early-middle primary children.

This was a fun re-telling of Puss in Boots. The octopus and Angus were great together. Even though the book is short, it is filled with fun, zany antics, and laughs.

Would highly recommend this book.

Thank you to the publisher and netgalley for this gifted copy. The genre of reimagined fairy tales is always one I find enjoyment in reading. This book gives silly twist on a familiar fairy tale that roots for the underdog. It was a quick read ideal for those who find joy in puns, sarcasm, and the strength of imagination to conquer obstacles.

I am now, admittedly, obsessed with Samantha Newman’s “Twisted Fairytales”! This is the second one I’ve read, and I purposely chose it after reading Cinder-elephant.

What I love about her books is that they are not just another "retelling" with a "twisted" ending, but they are wholly reimagined versions of the classics infused with wonderful messages of empowerment and self-confidence for the children reading them.
Octo-Puss reminds us to look beyond appearances, to treasure friendships, and to look for the good in everything.

In this twist on the classic Brothers Grimm tale, a youngest and oft ignored son is given his inheritance as an after thought - an octopus, who it turns out hates the sea and just wants to be loved. This wise (and talkative) little creature soon becomes a friend and teaches us to always appreciate small things, “teamwork makes the dream work,” and never count out the underdog.

In the end, the good guys win - and the hero gets his shoes (and boots, roller skates...).

Despite teaching high school, I can see many ways to incorporate this charming story (and the series) into my lessons.

This was a super cute tale of a third child, often overlooked by his father, Sir Loin (oh yes, there's a lot of these jokes!). While his siblings receive very knightly gifts from his father, Angus ends up with a very unique octopuss.

Octo-Puss in Boots is full of laughs, great illustrations and, most importantly, teaches you that the big shiny presents don't necessarily lead to the most fun... or the biggest adventures.

This was super cute! I read a previous book by this author and quite enjoyed, and I'm glad I picked up this one! These stories are fun for kids and good retellings. Definitely recommend!

I really enjoyed reading this re-imagined tale but must admit I am rather unfamiliar with the traditional tale of Puss In Boots.
Children will appreciate the silliness of challenging the characters for jobs and for tackling bandits and defeating the troll, even without the familiarity of the tale,
The illustrations in this series are fantastic- full of colour and imaginative details.

Thoroughly recommend this series to young readers!

A big thank you to NetGalley and Arcturus Publishing for the ARC. I am voluntarily reviewing this book. This is a children's book. I liked the cover and found this to be a fun retelling. I actually don't remember the original puss in boots to be honest. I think this was cute and the graphics were hilarious. 3,5 stars I think most 5=6 year olds would laugh.

This was extremely fun! I love the characters, the story and the adorable illustrations. Any children would find this book entertaining; and I’m sure adults would and enjoy it too!

I was attracted to this book by the octopus on the cover, and the excellent pun in the title. I was not disappointed.

This story is chock full of funny puns, entertaining names, and great illustrations. The plot itself is fun, though not very involved. I was slightly disappointed that the only female character was given a very minor role, but you very rarely get everything you want in one book.

This story would be an excellent choice to read aloud, and would entertain the reader, as well as the listener.

Overall, this was a great lighthearted tale, full of humour.

I was given a copy of this book, my opinions are my own.
