If you could go back in time and change your life, would you do it? Isla thinks about it all the time, so she knows she’d go back and make sure she had a real career, nit the crappy job she has at the aquarium. She’d keep her sister safe, stop her from running away, and most importantly of all, keep her mother from dying. When she is granted the impossible, the chance to actually do all those things, Isla is sure she’s going to change everything and give herself and everyone she loves a happy ending. Of course, we all know that changing the past has powerful consequences and happy endings are never guaranteed. Read this with your box of Kleenex nearby

If you could go back and change a moment in time, would you? That is what Isla gets to do in this book.
Great writing, great characters and a great storyline. Time to clear your schedule for the afternoon, you won’t regret it. Fabulous ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

This book was so hard to put down I loved the story so much more than I thought I would. I love real-life books with fantasy elements and this didn't let me down with the idea of changing the past and how much should/could be altered.

It is set in a tiny cornish town years after Isla's mum's death. Following this her Dad had a breakdown and hasn't coped with the loss well, now unable to look after himself, and her younger sister ran away aged 17. Her sudden return combined with a magical time-traveling stone opening up throws off Isla's small but secure life and makes for a great novel as she navigates caring for her family trying to bring her mum back, romance, and her desire for a bigger life/career away from her home town.

It was the first read of this author for me but I'll definitely be looking out for more to read.

This is a real page turned and not at all what I expected. I think I was expecting a kind of sliding doors parallel universe idea. This book is so much more and is in need of being picked up for a TV series. It is incredibly powerful in its narrative and the premise what if you could go back in time and change things (can you change them and would you want to change them and if so what are the consequences of your actions).
The characters really draw you in and each have their own storyline to keep you interested and guessing what happens next.
I can not recommend this book highly enough it is one that will keep you reading right till the very end and guessing what will happen next.

This book follows Isla who lives in Cornwall. Sometime after her mother has died, Isla discovers a stone which lets her see into the past and it takes her on an emotional rollercoaster.

This book was really enjoyable! The characters were all great characters but I definitely felt like something was missing from the overall plot. It was definitely gut wrenching in some parts and I felt extremely bad for both Morgan and Isla. The relationship between them was accurately depicted and even reminded me of my own relationship with my little sister in some scenes.

This was a lovely book and I look forward to more books from this author.

I received an advance copy of, The Surprising Says of Isla Pembroke, by Tamsin Kelly. If you could go back and change a moment in time, would you? That is what Isla gets to do in this book. Does she pick the right way?

I could not put this book down, I have spent today engrossed in this spellbinding book about time travel and the idea of what would you do if you could go back and change the past…….. and indeed, can it be changed. This is basically a story about the love between two sisters, Isla and Morgan, and how they struggle to heal the past and the damage that a tragedy inflicted upon their family nine years ago. Beautiful, sad, happy, funny and the pain of grief. I can’t recommend this book highly enough, it’s wonderful story telling at its best.
