Renegade by Rob Sinclair and Narrated by: Marston York This is the first book in the new Ryker Returns, series This was a great start to a new series by Rob. All his books I have read or listened to have been excellent from start to finish and I can not recommend him enough, His books are always engaging with lots of great twists and turns throughout and Another great action packed thriller.

The narrator Marston was very good. and he made this audiobook excellent to listen to.

I highly recommended this book and can be read as a stand alone book.

This is a fantastic, highly paced, action packed thriller, which I loved and found very exciting. It was my first James Ryker book, but it won't be my last and I can't wait to read about him again soon!

The story starts with James Ryker trying to figure out what went wrong with a surveillance mission, where the key target got kidnapped. He gets embroiled in the case and the excitement never stops. I really enjoyed listening to how it all unfolded. The narrator of the book was great and I really enjoyed the way he portrayed the story.

Many thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for a copy of this audiobook in exchange for an honest review.

Enjoyed it for the most part, but I'm guessing there were previous books in this series as I found myself struggling to follow it. Well read and well written but I'll try the books in order before I come back to this one.

Renegade by Rob Sinclair is an action packed crime novel. Starting with a disastrous undercover op in London where body count is high and the mark disappears is the beginning of a nightmare for Ryker. He travels over Europe to try and settle the score, as the body count rises his partner disappears it's now personal.

Narrated by Marston York this is a plot driven, pacey read. A lot of eastern European names for him to read and he quickly reals them off to keep the intensity high during the many action scenes. I would listen to this narrator again.

The characters were a little one dimensional but this is an action read, they do the job. There is some pretty gruesome violence which I find harder to listen to than to read- perhaps as you can't close the book and stop it quite so easily!

There are two main plot lines running through the novel with plenty of action in both making this a definite page turner.
Very plot heavy with little in the way of relationship development this was an easy to follow action lead listen 3*

Thanks to NetGalley and W.F. Howes Ltd for the ARC.

Action packed and nonstop suspense, this was a great first Rob Sinclair book for me. While I’ve never read any of his previous books, let alone his previous James Ryker books, I had no trouble following along with this read. It was intense and while the beginning was slightly slow, that didn’t mean it had any less action. Right away, there’s a surveillance mission gone wrong which leads to a chase scene that ends in disaster. And then, everything just spirals downwards from there on out. Once the middle of the book hits, it’s nonstop action and nonstop suspense as the reader juggles between two different storylines which eventually connect towards the end. There are some minor twists and a massive one towards the end. A wild ride and a great read, I really enjoyed this book and I might check out some of Rob Sinclair’s other books too especially his previous James Ryker ones.

Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher and Rob Sinclair for an ARC in return for an honest review.

I personally love Rob Sinclair’s DI Stephens novels. I haven’t read then previous Ryker series but I don’t think that overly mattered. I did find this audiobook a little difficult to follow as it has a lot of characters. However, I found myself really starting to enjoy it once I got to grips with who was who. A quick-paced thriller with plenty of action. It would make a great film! It’s full of suspense.
