I must firstly apologise for the amount of time it has taken me to provide a review of this book, my health was rather bad for quite some time, something that had me in hospital on numerous occasions and simply didnt leave me with the time I once had to do what I love most.

Unfortunately that does mean I have missed the archive date for many of these books, so It would feel unjust throwing any review together without being able to pay attention to each novel properly.

However, I am now back to reading as before and look forward to sharing my honest reviews as always going forward. I thank you f0r the patience and understanding throughout x

Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for an early review copy.

I loved the way this book was written, and the setting, Montenegro.

After picking up, the story was suddenly engrossing, it had everything you would like in a book. Banter, affection and drama., The place, it’s foods that made your mouth water and the moments of surprise was a good ending to the book.

I would recommend it to anyone who likes to read about family, their lives and their ups and downs.

Love at Cafe Lompar is so smoothly written, set against beautifully described Montenegro, and exudes a breath of fresh air making it perfect for a casual reading.

The pace was a bit slow at the start but it quickly picked up as the story got to the best part and boy, was there such a splendid blend of everything I would like in a book! There is the affection and banters between siblings, family drama, Montenegrin culture & its mouth watering foods, elements of surprise, and a fine ending.

I've enjoyed this book and can recommend it to anyone who likes to read about mother and daughter/son, an ultimate betrayal, sacrifices, unconditional love, and cultural appreciation.

I really enjoyed this book! The story is maybe a bit predictable and I found it hard to follow the timeline sometimes ( too many flashbacks perhaps) but it definitely caught my attention and had me fall in love with the beautiful setting. A feel-good, uplifting fiction that warmed my heart - I doubt things would turn out like this in the real world, but that's what made me like this book. We so need to dream. A very promising debut and I am so glad to hear there's going to be a sequel as I loved both the setting and the characters. It made me want to travel to Montenegro.
With many thanks to the authors, Honno Press and Netgalley for an early copy of this book

A book fully worthy of five stars and a great read from start to finish.

When Grace’s husband Dan dies she finds he has another family in Montenegro. Grace and her daughter Kat decide to go to Montenegro to see Rosa and her son and the chapters are written by both Grace and her daughter Kat, giving the feelings of both women.

Kat is thrilled to find she has a half brother and soon offers her help in the cafe Rosa runs.Grace finds meeting the second family more difficult.

I do hope there is a second book to come. I would love another visit to Montenegro and catch up with the blended family
