The Devil's Advocate is book 6 in the brilliant Eddie Flynn series. Ex-conman turned defence lawyer, Eddie takes the cases others would not look twice at.

This time he is working with his mentor Harry and lawyer friend Kate in a small town in the deep South on a possible death penalty case. Young black man Andy is accused of murdering a young local girl and DA Korn is determined that he will go to the electric chair. But soemthing doesn't feel right, and it is up to Eddie and the guys to clear his name, while avoiding endangering themselves.

Another gripping legal thriller that I highly recomend if that is your bag!

Eddie Flynn is back with a case that seems impossible to win!!

Eddie Flynn is back and has been asked to take a case that seems impossible to win. This case involves the gruesome murder of a popular young student in a small town in Alabama. The residents of the town believe that the killer has been caught and make it clear that Eddie and his team are not welcome when they arrive to defend the suspect. Can the team keep a young man out of the electric chair that everyone seems determined to put him in?

This is another instant classic from Steve Cavanagh. I loved his last novel 'Fifty Fifty' and was completely absorbed in this story with it's menacing protagonist, aptly named the 'King of Death Row', who has sent more men to their deaths than any other district attorney. There is more to this case than meets the eye however, the tension remains palpable throughout the story, and there are some heartstopping moments along the way. This is courtroom drama at it's very best and will keep you guessing until the end.

Another fabulous book by Steve Cavanagh that did not disappoint. Eddie Flynn is fighting to save a young man from the death penalty after he was accused of murdering his work colleague. In some ways this book felt different to others in the series as Flynn was spending more time outside the court room investigating the crime but this just added to the narrative . A brilliant book with one of the most despicable characters I've ever come across!

I have been a big fan of the Eddie Flynn series since the first release. This one does not disappoint. It is a little different from the others but still brilliant. The plot was great and I couldn't but it down. I really enjoyed the multiple POV. Cant wait for the next.

I really enjoyed this one as I’ve enjoyed all of the books that I’ve previously read by this author. I love the characterisation of the main character and I enjoyed the twists and turns throughout the story.

YES! Cavanagh has gone a done it again with another fantastic Eddie Flynn novel. Dramatic twists and turns kept me hooked, what a rollercoaster of a journey! A dark plot with an informative spin that had me immersed from the beginning. Made all the better with Cavanagh’s signature humour throughout. Fantastic!

The book has a devastating and brutal prologue and an ongoing sense of unease throughout. It is entertaining, gripping and grimly compelling. The plot shows racism and corruption on an institutional and infuriating level and I was racing through the pages, desperately hoping that Eddie could continue his successful streak. I love the team that’s built up around Eddie and cannot wait for the next instalment.

Oh, Steve Cavanagh what I would give to be inside your mind when you’re writing a new book!! What gem of a read this was! Not my favourite of the series, hence not a full 5 star rating, but still an absolute cracking read!

Truly not sure who I am fangirling over more, Steve Cavanagh himself, or Eddie Flynn and his team!

A MUST READ SERIES if you haven’t already had the pleasure of experiencing the world of Eddie Flynn!

4.5 Stars (Rounded Up) – Highly Recommended Read!

This is a chilling legal thriller with a complex and strong story! The plot was brilliant and cleverly written. It was fast paced and had me hooked. The small town setting was so well drawn. I could feel the tension. The troubles Eddie and team faced in the town felt real. Eddie Flynn was brilliant as always. He is becoming one my favourite protagonists. I loved the other characters as well.
Can't wait for the next installment in this series.

The Devil’s Advocate is the latest book in the Eddie Flynn, Legal Thriller Series and what a book it is. Absolutely brilliantly written, it is fast paced, full of drama and entices a depth of feeling towards the characters, the situation and the surprises that come along. There's no way of guessing which path the story will go down.

Eddie is a Defense Lawyer who won’t represent anyone he believes is guilty. When he gets approached to take on a case of a young innocent black man who has been accused of the murder of a white girl in the depths of rural Alabama, he heads down there with his team and takes on Andy's case immediately.

Koch is the District Attorney, with the highest number of death penalty executions to his name in the country. Eddie and the team must take on this questionable character, navigating the barriers put in front of them every step of the way, before its too late.

I love the way the characters of Eddie, and his team Harry (a retired Judge) Kate (a new lawyer who has proven herself quickly) and Bloch (an ex cop and childhood friend of Kate) bounce off eachother so fantastically. Their relationships are developing wonderfully and make the story even better than it would be anyway. I'm very much hoping that there will be another book in the series so I can follow their stories together. It really enhances the storyline and leaves me smiling. This truly was a book that I didn’t want to put

As an aside, this story really reminded me of To Kill A Mocking Bird, in both atmosphere and the horrors of racism that are evident in The Devil’s Advocate,, which evoked memories of how I felt when reading that book years ago. I am going to make sure I re-read it soon as I think it's important in current climes.

Thank you so much to Netgalley, Steve Cavanagh and Orion Publishing Group for a copy of the book in exchange for an honest review..

I love Eddie Flynn! He is my favourite type of leading man - kind and courageous, hard as nails but always ethical, and fighting for what is right - what's not to like?! The tension in this book is palpable, as our hero and his supporting cast find themselves in Buckstown Alabama, a district as right wing as they come, and pitched against the twisted and corrupt District Attorney Randal Korn. As Eddie tries to save an innocent man from execution, the stakes get higher and higher and the team find themselves in mortal danger. Will this case be Eddie's last? I sincerely hope not!

This is Steve Cavanagh's best book to date. It is an excellent, fast paced, legal thriller, set in the American deep south and reminiscent of the best of John Grisham, and also of My Cousin Vinny; and I mean both of those as compliments.

Reading a Steve Cavanagh book is like slipping on a comfy pair of slippers whilst sitting in your favourite chair eating your favourite snacks. You know you are guaranteed total satisfaction and enjoyment especially when one of your favourite characters Eddie Flynn is involved.

If you haven’t already met Eddie, do yourself a HUGE favour and download the books NOW and read them in order, BUT if you can’t wait, they can all be read in any order.

The Devil’s Advocate is the 6th novel in this phenomenal series following Eddie Flynn, ex-conman, now full time Defence Lawyer in the US. I know I’ve said it after every book, but I think this one might be my favourite so far..!

The Devil’s Advocate is slightly different from the other books, Eddie is no longer flying solo, he is working together with his mentor Harry, Kate, a talented lawyer who he met in Fifty-Fifty and the brilliant investigator Bloch. As a team the chemistry and history between these four main characters gives that additional depth of detail which enabled me to care even more about them as individuals.

Once again Eddie finds himself involved in a complicated and troubling case, a small town in the deep South of the US appears to have the highest death penalty cases and when a young black man is facing the electric chair, Eddie is asked to defend him. It seems that the District Attorney Randal Korn has a very unhealthy obsession about watching people die and will even alter evidence to ensure the defendant dies on his watch.

This book covers so many topics including White supremacy, murder and racial discrimination and Randall Korn really is the most despicable character, I could literally smell his rancid flesh everything he spoke.

A gripping, legal thriller with enough suspense and thrills to keep me glued to the pages for a 7 hour flight to Dubai – I literally didn’t put the book down and eagerly await the next book in one of my favourite series.

This is the sixth book in the #EddieFlynn series and have loved all of them, particularly this one. This one focuses on DA Randal Korn who always goes for the death penalty in his cases, and usually wins.
This was a fast paced, thrilling read with lots of twists - I found myself doubting some of the characters who I really wanted to believe!
Eddie has become one of my favourite fictional lawyers and can't wait for instalment number 7.
Thank you for giving me the opportunity to read before this was released. I have bought several copies since for my friends and family.

Eddie Flynn and his team are going down south to Buckstown Alabama to defend a young black man accused of killing a beautiful white girl. Andy will be sentenced to die in the electric chair if found guilty, but Eddie won’t let that happen, even if it means risking his own life.

This is the sixth book in the series that follows con-man turned lawyer, Eddie Flynn, and it can be read as a stand-alone, although I think you’ll be eager to get your hands on the rest of the series once you finish this one. Steve Cavanagh is the king of fast paced, edge of your seat, impossible to put down legal thrillers.

Thank you NetGalley and Orion for the advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.
