It's OK to Need a Friend teaches young children the lesson and value of friendship.

I also read 'It's OK to Make Mistakes' by the same author and this similarly has some beautiful words and illustrations. A quote which stood out for me was, 'When we share happiness with our friends, we end up with more than we had in the beginning'.

The series of these books are perfect for young children's mental well-being.

I absolutely loved this adorable children’s book illustrated by AnneliesDraws. It is a great tool to use with young children surrounding friendship. Full of illustrated pages which set different scenarios to share inspirational messages about it being okay to cry, to make mistakes and to like and want different things, and that it’s okay to need a friend.

I recommend the Little Brown Bear series for young children to support their personal, social and emotional (PSED) development and understanding. It has great child-friendly text which state and explain scenarios they are likely to find themselves in and offers examples of ways to approach them. One example from the book is:

“we all make mistakes, sometimes we hurt each other. it’s what we do next that matters. ‘I’m so sorry mouse’ says little brown bear.”

Which I think is a fab approach which young children will be able to understand.

** I received an advanced copy of this ebook to read and review. Thank you NetGalley, the author, illustrator and publisher for allowing me this opportunity **

I've just read this and the other book in the series, It's OK to Make Mistakes, and can't get over how cute and clever they are. The illustrations are amazing and they're full of words of wisdom that will benefit little readers for life. They're beautifully written and evoke a cosy and comforting world that pre-schoolers will enjoy exploring. The stories and images have a classic, timeless quality and these books would make wonderful gifts. I love both titles in the collection so far and hope there will be many more to come.
