This was a quick read that definitely had me unable to put it down and I couldn’t stop turning the pages until I reached the end. This book had me on the edge of my seat the entire time and there were some twists that I didn’t see coming. Overall this was suspenseful and quite the enjoyable ride!

The characters were a little flat for me. I did keep turning the pages though. I would try something else by the same author because I did enjoy the writing style and I read another title by him that I adored.

3.5 ⭐️ although I didn’t enjoy this one as much as No Exit or The Last Word, it definitely kept me guessing until the very end. I wasn't sure where the recording story line was going to go, and I had no clue that there would be so much involved with the sheriff, so that was quite a surprise. I won't hesitate to pick up more from Taylor Adams in the future.

I didn’t expect to love this book like I did. The characters had depth and you were able to connect to them. I like how it slowly unravelled and you didn’t know the full story to the end, I liked how morally grey it was. The ending was a perfect combination of surprising and not surprising. The surprises weren’t saved just for the end but present in the middle as well. The plot was a simple idea that the author made delightfully complex.

Taylor Adams never disappoints with fast paced, bingeable and twisty thrillers! Not my favorite of his but I was hooked to finish it in 2 days.

Lena refuses to believe her sister committed suicide. There are too many questions and no one can give her the answers, so she decides to investigate herself. While not exactly an original story line, Taylor Adams did manage to sneak in a couple of twists that were unexpected. As she gets closer to what happened to her sister, the tension ramps up enough you'll have to finish the book, no "one more chapter" before bed. While this may not be the best thriller I've read in awhile, it's definitely a good one.

This book was such a fast paced thrill ride. I was kept guessing right up until the very end and I did not see the big twist coming. I read this book in one day and highly recommend for every thriller lover.

I was so excited for this read after loving No Exit. Hairpin Bridge was a fast page turner, and captivating at the start, but as the story developed, I struggled with staying interested with the descriptive fight scenes with the guns. The ending had a twist but left me wanting more. Overall, decent thriller but I was looking forward to something that matched the intensity of No Exit.

Intense, gripping, bloody, suspenseful, insane are all words I'd use to describe what I just read. I was up way past my bedtime to finish this one.

Lena's twin sister who has been traveling for the last year suddenly commits suicide. Lena refuses to believe it after an odd text from her sister the day she dies. Lena is determined to face Cambry's killer head on. Boy is she prepared and I am not even sure she is ready for all she uncovers!

Thank you to @williammorrowbooks for the #gifted copy.

This was a thriller with a blog narration happening at times. It was overall a really good twist and plot but I think that it could have been cut down a little bit. Every time I thought the story was over something else would pop up and it would continue. Overall, the ending blew me away and I was extremely shocked at the final twist that was thrown in.

Hairpin Bridge by Taylor Adams is a book that you can't put down. I kept saying one more chapter! Lena just can't believe that her sister would commit suicide. She's her twin so she would have known something was going on. So she does some investigating herself and even meets up with the state trooper who found her sister's body. Very suspenseful and I don't want to give anything away so you will have to read this one for yourself!!

I loved Taylor Adams "No Exit" so I was really excited when I got an ARC of "Hairpin Bridge" from NetGalley". I didn't enjoy it quite as much, but I would still recommend it. I liked the POV between the two sisters and the way the story ended. Looking forward to reading her next one.

What did I just try to read?? I, unfortunately, had to DNF this one. I loved No Exit so I was very excited to read this one. This story was very repetitive and after about half, I had to give up.

*Thank you Joffe Books for the copy in exchange for an honest review. Review not posted to Amazon/Goodreads because less than 4 stars or DNF.*

Reading Between the Wines book review #48/115 for 2023:
Rating: 3 ½ 🍷 🍷 🍷
Book 🎧: Hairpin Bridge
Author: Taylor Adams
Genre: Mystery & Thrillers
Available now!

Sipping thoughts: I read so many polar reviews for this book so I did not know what to expect. But I really enjoyed it. I liked the way the story was written for the reader to hear a podcast like story while flashbacking in the present and past. I did not know what was going to unfold and there was a WHOLE other story than I expected. The final part of the story was a little unbelievable and I did not feel was needed but I understood why it was included. While I do not think this story can even touch the greatness of No Exit, I still think it is a good read that should be enjoyed by thrill seekers.

Cheers and thank you to @NetGalley and @JoffeBooks for an advanced copy of @HairpinBridge.

Like Taylor Adams previous book, No Exit, this is super fast-paced and tense. I have mixed feelings about this one, as I did with that one. I love the pace and the relentless tension, but by the end things got too gory and I was left feeling a bit sick by everything that happened. But if you love tense thrillers and don't mind things getting dark, I would recommend checking this one out.

Special thanks to Netgalley and the author for this ARC in exchange for my honest review.
I was really excited for this book! I had heard great things, it was one of the anticipated thrillers of the year and I was beyond excited to read it.
It started off really great and I was really invested in the story of how Lena’s sister supposedly jumped off Hairpin Bridge and killed herself. But Lena doesn’t think it was suicide. Great pretense, right? The storyline alternate between Lena’s POV and her sister’s, but the way it read it was confusing to tell them apart! There was a lot of action in the book but after a while it was just repetitive.
Sadly, I just ended up disappointed:(

Thank you to Joffe Books and NetGalley for an ARC in exchange for my honest opinion. Hairpin Bridge started out strong, but I felt like it didn’t maintain that, switching to long, boring driving tirades. As I continued to read it, I got bored and almost didn’t finish reading it. I decided to switch to audiobook which was fine, but I don’t think I’ll remember this - other than the great descriptions of the remote Montana setting.

I was an okay read, I actually enjoyed this more than No Exit. The beginning started off strong and pretty much went a bit downhill from there.

I am however, looking forward to Taylor Adams next read!

Thank you NetGalley for providing a copy of this ARC in exchange for an honest review!

The phrase “if you don’t have anything nice to say…” Appropriate for this book. I thought No Exit was such a fun thriller and was so excited for Adam’s next book. Not for me.
