I must firstly apologise for the amount of time it has taken me to provide a review of this book, my health was rather bad for quite some time, something that had me in hospital on numerous occasions and simply didnt leave me with the time I once had to do what I love most.

Unfortunately that does mean I have missed the archive date for many of these books, so It would feel unjust throwing any review together without being able to pay attention to each novel properly.

However, I am now back to reading as before and look forward to sharing my honest reviews as always going forward. I thank you f0r the patience and understanding throughout x

This was a fast paced, immersive read and my first by this author, but not my last! Isla is called and shockingly informed that her sister, Annie, and husband, Dom, have tragically died in a terrible fire. Isla immediately goes to support her grieving nephew, Cam. But when she tries to find answers about her sister’s tragic and untimely death, she finds secrets and darkness that she can’t comprehend about her joy filled sister. This is a powerful story about sisterhood and family. It is also about discovering that we can’t always know others, even those closest to us. Thank you Netgalley, Bookouture and the author for this eARC in exchange for my honest review. Available now

I have loooong been a supporter of Lynes work, and this book did not disappoint. The family dynamics in her novels always play such a key role, but the heart and soul of this book is like few of her others.

I would love to give this a 5 star, and the only reason it is a 4.5 for me, is because it is not my FAVOURITE of her books - The Women still holds that trophy for me... but not once has SE Lynes written a single page that disappoints. Her ability to connect with a reader through intricate family dynamics is unparalleled.

This is the first i have read of this author and I found that it started off a bit slow and I struggled to get into it or connect with the writing and characters. It started to pick up pace later in the book and the court proceedings livened it up but I just felt like I was skimming over the words and lengthy detail because I'd lost interest and wasn't invested in the characters. In saying that, I have a few books from this author that I'd still like to read and I'm looking forward to seeing how they compare.

This book grabs you right from the start. It uses a timeline of past and present to tell the story. I connected with the characters and the ending was superb.

I loved this novel as I have all of S e Lynes books. It kept me on the edge of my seat. I did guess the ending but it didn’t spoil my enjoyment. The characters were well developed and the plot was gripping. Can’t wait to read the next one.

As ever SE Lynes kept her readers on the edge of their seat till the last possible moment! One of those books I wanted to get to see what happened but didn't want it to end! Awesom!

Her Sisters Secret stared out pretty faced paced , but slowed down a little in the middle, though still a lot of twists and turns and a surprise ending makes you want to hurry to the end to find out what happened. Thank you NetGalley for the advanced copy.

Why oh why are we limited to giving a poxy 5 stars for books like this? Every time I read a book by this author I say it's awesome, but her first book, Valentina, has always pipped the others to the post. Until now. Her Sister's Secret is just sublime. Fantastic characters, some you'll love, some you'll hate. Tension by the bucket load. And the ending... Oh my frigging good God... I was NOT expecting that! I was completely immersed in this fabulous story about Annie and Isla, two very close sisters who drifted slightly after Annie's marriage to Dom (evil, nasty Dom) took her away from their beloved Inverary to Dorset. The book starts with a exploding bomb. A phone call to Isla from Annie's son, Callum, bringing devastating news. The book then goes on, flitting between different timelines where we slowly come to terms with the events leading up to that call and the truth behind the relationships, some of which are shocking. The whole thing is superbly written, and I had to remind myself at times that it's a work of fiction! Just brilliant.

Isla is shocked to receive a phone call at midnight from her nephew Cal saying that her sister Annie, his mother, is dead. His stepdad Dominic is also dead, both bodies burned in their art studio. Isla hurries down to Dorset to support her nephew but discovers he is the prime suspect...
Her Sister's Secret is a family psychological thriller with a dose of police procedure as well.
The plot is delivered through two timelines: the past and the present. In the past, we see Annie's relationship with Dom as it develops (in a third person perspective). In the present, we see Isla's first person viewpoint dealing with the aftermath of the couples' deaths. It soon becomes clear that theirs was not a happy marriage and that Annie had been keeping secrets from her sister.
I thought that the changing relationship between the sisters was accurate and realistic. The siblings we grow up with develop to have a life separate from us and we rarely know the minutiae of their relationships with others. Perhaps also a touch of sibling rivalry too, wanting to out-do each other rather than reveal unhappy truths.
Annie and Isla's story has great twists as the past and present are examined. I think Isla's character really shines but this could be because we see events through her eyes. Her grief and confusion as well as her love for her sister and nephew are well written and emotive.
Her Sister's Secret is an entertaining and thought provoking psychological thriller and I liked the police and legal elements.

I have really enjoyed everything I’ve read by this author, solid work. The writing style is seamless, alternating deftly from past to present and between two narrators that had distinct voices.

This had a bit of a slower start than previous reads but it does pick up pretty quickly. The trial was quite good and the aftermath was excellent, great twists! The epilogue was also quite fun, just when you thought there were no surprises left! I will look forward to the next! This author never disappoints!

Thanks to NetGalley, the author and Bookouture for a copy in exchange for a review.
