An emotional book about a bunch of people who get stuck in the library due to the storm. It was a bit slow but an interesting book nonetheless

The Night of Many Endings - I requested this book because I just loved the title and the synopsis pulled me in.

Set in Silver Ridge in Colorado, a snowstorm is brewing, five people end up taking shelter in the local library, Nora, Vlado, Jasmine, Lewis, and Marlene. These five individuals are all from completely different backgrounds, have different personalities and each have their own set of problems. As the storm progresses, weather gets worse and the power goes out, they are all forced to take shelter and set up home for the night in the library. The night draws in and they learn about each other, their lives and the problems and worries that each one of them has.
A good read, but be warned that it deals with subjects like addition, homelessness, depression etc.

A brutal snowstorm hits an old and historic library, stranding 5 people there for an entire night. Each of the 5 have their own set of issues and trauma, including grief, addiction, PTSD, homelessness, and more. With Nora, the librarian, at the helm, they make unlikely connections that will change them all in ways nobody could have predicted.
This book did get off to a slow start for me. I’ve read others by this author, so I kept reading and was glad i finished this heartwarming story.

Thank you Netgalley for the opportunity to read this ARC. Although the premise was interesting and started out well, I just lost interest in the characters. I think with it taking place all in the library in one night there was not enough action to keep me interested. I am sorry to say I only got through 1/2 of the book before I gave up as there were other books I wanted to start. Maybe someone else would enjoy it more. I hope so for the author as it showed a lot of promise.

Nora knows a lot about life and the longing, emotions and emptiness comes through in the storyline. I connected with the characters and the stories that came out of the library. Everyone has a world of history and I believe that fate or karma or family dynamics all play a part in how we learn and grow!
I couldn’t say that I didn’t enjoy this book, I simply found it a little slow and bogged down.

The Night of Many Endings was a pretty heavy read with the main question asking "how can your life change in one night?" After a snowstorm leaves an unlikely group of 5 people stranded together in a library, they begin to open up and share their stories. Drug addiction, suicide, heartbreak, friendships, loss and more, the stories of their lives begin to form.

I loved the premise of this story, however it had a pretty slow start for me. I found myself unable to invest in a lot of the characters stories. I'm not sure if it was because there were so many characters and stories to follow or if it was because of the writing, but I didn't find myself drawn to any particular story where I was left in a panic over figuring out how it ended. This was still an enjoyable story, with the second half of the book drawing me in more and would be great for a cozy night by the fire.

The book talks alot about addiction and grief. Those two topics we’re presented through strong characterisation being the story was told through different perspectives. The plot was fast-paced being the story was mainly set on just one night but I guess the book could still work even if it was set on a longer time period. It could provide a more vivid background of the characters’ indivudual struggle. The story also touches suicide and at some point while reading it, I kind of wish they provided a bit of a trigger warning.

This was an emotional read about a group of people who get stuck in a library due to a severe snowstorm. Bit of a slow burner but it was an ok book.

I didn’t have any expectations when I started The Night of Many Endings, but found myself really enjoying the story. It took me a few chapters to get really into it but after that I was fully invested in every characters story. Librarian Nora, security guard Vlado, Marlene an elderly loner, Lewis a homeless man, and Jasmine a troubled teen are all stranded and take shelter together at a library during a winter storm. Here they find themselves fighting and eventually opening up to each other.

They all teach other a valuable lesson about life and letting go. All the characters have their own issues and secrets. I really found it beautiful how they all towards to end started to open up and work together. My heart broke for the characters and they all had their own heartbreak they had to deal with. This story was fast-paced and a bit rushed at times. Especially towards the end it left me a bit unsatisfied. The writing style had a great flow and it was very easy to read. I look forward to reading more books by this author.

Meh sums up my feelings about this book pretty well. I wasn’t particularly attached to any of the characters or their sad, “let’s share all of our trauma” fest while trapped in a snowstorm. I found myself skimming through the last third of the book or so because of this reason.

Taking shelter in a library during a storm? Sounds like a dream! Don’t let the fun-feeling premise mislead you though, this read was a bit heavier than I thought it would be. The pacing of this book may not be for me as the slow start made it difficult to commit to but I was glad I did eventually. I really enjoyed the themes Payne touched on and I always enjoy a locked-room mystery!

The plot of this novel was very intriguing, and I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect! What I received was a cozy, feel-good novel that made my heart incredibly warm by the end of it. Although a little slow at times, the plot was interesting and the character dynamics held me in to complete the novel.

A sweet, contained story that reminds me for some reason of the Louise Penny Three Pines sections of her books (minus the murder ofcourse). Such that I'd probably follow a book on each of the characters introduced here on their own stories. Thank you for the ARC!

As the evening goes on you learn about what causes each person to act the way that they do. I liked this book and would give it 3.5 stars. I thought it was a cozy read. I think that many people would like this book. I did think that some of the storylines were a little too convenient, and that the ending was not quite how I wanted it to end. I do think this book is worth a read.

Far from cozy. A compelling story focusing on a diverse group stuck in a library during a snow storm. The author addresses homelessness, addiction, and human connections in a sympathetic manner.

This book had a fascinating premise, however It got off to a very slow start for me and it was difficult for me to actually finish it. Also, was highly emotional and if someone is in a bad place emotionally, this book might not be for them.

This book has a really compelling premise and I felt extremely intrigued by this book just after reading the synopsis. As a lover of libraries, a thriller set in a library with a librarian has got to be good! This book really tackles life through different points of view and as the book progresses you rally learn about the struggles of all the characters. I feel as though it takes a little reading to get into it but the second half is definitely better.

Nora works in a library and is often seen volunteering and helping the homeless and addicts that seem to take root in Silver Ridge, a mountain town in Colorado. Behind her passion to help people is the longing for her missing brother battling with addiction, whom she hopes to be reunited with some day.
When a winter snow storm hits Silver Ridge, Nora, worried sick if her brother is safe or not, finds herself stuck in the library along with four other people – Marlene, a grumpy old lady; Vlado, the handsome security guard; Jasmine, a sweet yet secretive teenager and Lewis, a senior homeless addict. f
As the storm gets worse and the power goes out, this diverse group of people is forced to spend the night in the cold, dark and damp library. Huddling together with flashlights, they start learning more about each other and slowly, the secrets come undone.
This is a heartwarming tale of loss, hope and found family. The book is narrated from multiple POVs and starts slow but picks up pace in the second half as we get to learn the multiple layers and backstory of each character. Even though the book sounds cozy, it deals with various serious topics like addiction, depression, loneliness and death of loved ones.
While I enjoyed the writing of this emotionally packed book, I struggled to feel invested in any of the characters. On one hand I wanted to know their backstory but the connection felt amiss. And despite having a feel-good ending, the book turned out to be heavy read. I’ll recommend to only read this one if you’re in a healthy emotional space.

Great book! I grew to care for and root for each of the main characters and in this very difficult time in the world, it reminded me that if we come together and support each other, we can ease many of life's tragedies.

The Night of Many Endings is a multi-narrative book that centers around a small town library during a snowstorm. Nora, the librarian, has a heart full of compassion for others after seeing her brother struggle with addiction. She is snowed in at the library with security guard Vlado, widowed Marlene, homeless Lewis who has his own addiction struggles, and local teen Jasmine. The group finds that they have a lot in common and how much they have to offer each other.

The Night of Many Endings is a multifaceted story with a lot of personal struggles to go around. Nora's struggle with her brother's drug use makes her a good center point for the book, and she relates to ever character. Her empathy for others provides a feeling of hope throughout the book, and keeps the story from getting too heavy to read. All of the individual narratives are interesting, and they all work well together. While the book description conveys that the story is feel-good, the reader should be prepared for a lot of heavy subject matter when getting into this book, such as addiction, homelessness, depression/PTSD, and suicidal thoughts. I would recommend this book for readers looking for a tragedy turned to hope story. 3.5 stars.
